I haven't kept up here much, but trying to be more actively supportive. Love reading everyone's updates.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: October 25/ 10w4d
Baby is the size of a(n): Tetra fish
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Team Green for now - may change my mind.
Upcoming Appointments: Repeat sono in a couple weeks for a small subchorionic hemorrhage.
How are you feeling?: Disgusting and greasy
Rants/Raves: MIL is already starting with the gene claiming. Apparently this baby looks JUST LIKE my husband. Looks like a blob with nubs to me, but okay.
Questions:
GTKY: Tell us about your pets! We've got a dog and a bunny. Both shelter pets, both 6 years old. Our dog is our firstborn child - we got her shortly after we got married. She is above eating crumbs off the floor, unfortunately. Our rabbit loves to cuddle and used to like roaming the house until the wild children took over.
@steminist I hope your appetite and energy return soon.
@emily1052 your dogs are adorable! What kind of trip are you going on for work? Like a field trip?
@galentine I love your H's wisdom re: the telling work people anxiety. I also heart your description of your dog's personality, that is exactly how we feel about ours.
@cass005 I think cake for every meal is totally appropriate. And now I want some again.
@junebabyh your OB sounds awesome, I'm so glad you're happy with her. Seeing those little beans move and swim about is just the coolest thing ever.
@theglitteredpterodactyl I'm sorry I'm late but Happy Birthday! Birthday pancakes sound like it was a devine start to the day.
@quidditchcapn1120 I'm sorry you're feeling so blah right now. Hoping it turns around for you soon.
@greenbean-2 hooray for graduation to monthly appointments! Hope you feel better soon tho.
@schumerator I hope the gym went easy on you, it's great you're feeling near normal. Good for you on sticking to that resolve as hard as it is.
@stephanie123456 your job is so cool to have themed days like that. How often do you get them?
@melanier26 I'm sorry you're having so much up and down with everything. Hopefully your FIL isn't contagious or gets better soon. Too cute tho that DS is helping with laundry, what a sweetheart!
@cmbt2 I know it's not your intention, but I do get a giggle sometimes out of how cut and dry you are. No frills and that's great. Hopefully you feel somewhat better soon.
@jenferlee82 sorry you're still stuck in the constant nausea stage too. And argh to your doctor's office being so complacent in getting your results to you, but congratulations on your low risk results!
@mrsinterweb your cabin camping weekend sounds like a great time! I'm sorry about your cat passing recently, it's too bad they don't get to stay with us longer.
@grapeskittles4lyfe I feel just the same as you on the BF question. Hoping I can make it longer with this baby, but I still feel like I did fine getting DS through 6 months with some supplementing.
@prplbutterfly that is sooo adorable that your son is trying to wake up the sleeping baby. Glad niece wasn't perturbed then either.
@sweetteaandswingsmama I just don't know how you do it but I'm very impressed. You have such a full household!
@ineedsixeggs I died at the gene claiming MIL comment. It's hilarious when we try to see features looking like anyone in particular in those US pics, yet I have tried, lol.

@cooaladolly kind of like a field trip! The company I work for owns a huge ranch. As a reward the whole office gets to go stay there for a week. I won’t get to do most of the activities (riding horses and 4-wheelers) but it will still be nice to get away for a while. I’m going to bring some books and do some hiking.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: October 15 - 12 weeks today! Baby is the size of a(n): Plum FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out.. as soon as this darn genetic screen bloodwork comes back! Upcoming Appointments: April 22 - regular monthly prenatal visit How are you feeling?: Okay. A bit better. Fatigue is still bad, but Unisom+B6 is helping with nausea. Boobs hurt, and I'm officially having smell aversions (last night my hubby eating dry Cheerios almost had me yakk!) and cravings (chocolate milkshakes!) Rants/Raves: RANT: This acne is AWFUL! I'm having big, cystic acne breakouts and some bumps are over 6 weeks old with no signs of going away. It's painful, ugly, and really frustrating. I'm washing twice a day with a mild gel alpha-hydroxy-acid cleanser, and toning twice a day with 100% witch hazel, but it doesn't seem to have helped. RAVE: we are officially 100% public on the pregnancy - went "Facebook official" yesterday - and everyone's reactions have been so excited and warm. It feels really nice to feel all this love around us. Questions: Have any of you found any tasty non-alcoholic wine or beer? I tried Sutter Home Fré the other day, but it was pretty gross. GTKY: Tell us about your pets! We have two rescue pups! An 11 year old pit/lab/hound mix and a 7 year old schnauzer/yorkie mix. We are starting bark training (vibrating collar, not a "shock" one) on the schnauzer... his barks are SO loud and long-lasting, I am worried about him waking up a napping baby! Hoping to break the habit now as best we can.

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: Finding out in couple months
Upcoming Appointments: Thursday U/S and talk about genetic stuffs, although i'm opting out of extra testing.
How are you feeling?: Depends on the hour/day honestly. After a couple days last week of not feeling pregnant at all I have felt pretty lousy the past couple days. I'm wondering if the feeling better last week had to do with not being in a car all week. I seem to get motion sick whenever i'm in a car lately. This happens not pregnant on turny/hilly roads but this pregnancy it seems all the time. I've also been getting really bad headaches.
Rants/Raves: Not to much, just tired of being tired and not sleeping well.
Questions: NOPE
GTKY: Tell us about your pets! None currently. Although not for lack of trying, I can't talk DH into it right now. He wants to wait until DS is at least 5 and able to help some, with new baby IDK how that will adjust. I want either a corgi, beagle, jack terrier or king caviler. Since I am adament about getting a shelter dog though those are unlikely. Although DH ex-wifes mom has gotten a few King Cavs from a rescue so I may have to look into that one day. I also want a cat or two eventually. I always had a pet or two growing up so it's hard for me not having one.
@kindbytealikat I’m pretty sure I have bad motion sickness too. I’m hoping if I drive it will help. We just drove a half hour to my son’s tball practice and I almost told DH to pull over a couple of times to vomit. If driving doesn’t help I guess I won’t be visiting my parents any time soon! They’re an hour away and while I can maybe tolerate a half hour, I think that’s my max
Upcoming Appointments: Just had a NT scan and a 12 week appt. Next is our 16 week on April 25th.
How are you feeling?: Overall, I can’t complain. Nothing’s really improving for me, but I haven’t had it bad to begin with. Fatigue is my worst symptom. I have also recently started getting pain in my legs, especially at night, but as long as I put my feet up, I’m fine.
Rants/Raves: rant: I have so many essays to grade before Friday and zero motivation/energy to do work in the evenings. Rave: at our ultrasound yesterday, we saw our baby yesterday moving all around. DH said she looked like she was sucking her thumb, but the tech said it was too early. Either way, it looked like she was waving to us. Seeing DH’s face light up was the best part.
Questions: Is it true that 12 weeks is too early to see a fetus sucking its thumb?
GTKY: Tell us about your pets! Our dog Scout is a Boston Terrier, going on 5 years old on 10/10 (my due date!). He’s a huge goof ball who loves to play fetch (for hours), and when he gets tired, cuddle with humans.
@novicemama it might be- it’s around the time the fingers and toes emerge (I think the time frame is 11-13w?) but as long as those are there already, I can’t see it being too early
@novicemama Your dog ❤️ My childhood dog was a Boston. My parents got another after she died and sadly last spring they had to put him down when he was only 5 due to medical problems. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Bostons
@novicemama LOVE your Boston ❤️ @kindbytealikat I’ve been getting some epic headaches too, which I blamed on allergies, but now maybe I’ll blame them on pregnancy. Do you take anything for them? @ineedsixeggs Hilarious. I love your gene claiming comment so much.
I cant keep up with all the posts, ladies. I promise I’ll do better with checking in tomorrow. But for now I’m pooped!
@emily1052 I did 4H growing up too so I’m excited to have my kids do it. This year is my oldest daughters first year showing and she is doing a bunny and showing a market pig from an older 4her.
@cooaladolly honestly I just enjoy my life being slightly chaotic I think. I want to mother every single thing. It drives my husband insane lol!
@junebabyh and @kindbytealikat You can take Excedrin Tension Headache as well (it has both acetaminophen and caffeine in it). My OB/Gyn also recommended taking a daily magnesium supplement of 250mg to help prevent headaches, and that helps a lot. I did it before getting pregnant too and it definitely works.
@kindbytealikat The Excedrin Migraine has aspirin, but the Excedrin Tension does not. My late husband was allergic to NSAIDs and I discovered this gem at that time.
@mchalfpint we got our dog at 8 wks old only 2 wks before we found out we were pregnant with DS. He was so rambunctious and barky that we were very concerned about his noise with the baby coming. Interestingly enough we realized that baby had heard his bark the whole time he was in the womb, and when he came out it was of little or no concern to him. Still to this day (he's 17 months) I can count on one hand how many times he has woken up from a nap due to Bentley's barking, and in those cases it was only because he was coming around on his own anyway.

@meagan-t oh my gosh thank you for posting that! I am exclusively an excedrine user for headaches when not pregnant and have been using Tylenol with only a little relief. I can’t wait to try that version !
@Schumerator, @mchalfpint, and @kindbytealikat You're welcome! I was in tears last week from a horrible headache and remembered that it was a thing, so I sent my husband to go get some. Even my doctor hadn't heard of it, but I told her the ingredients and she said it should be perfectly safe. Total godsend.
Im jealous of all of you who aren’t allergic to Tylenol... 😪
if you’re prone to headaches, I recommend starting magnesium supplements now. I had nasty headaches and migraines in late 2nd tri/early 3rd with DS2 and magnesium + electrolytes helped tremendously (and I wasn’t dehydrated)
Long term migrane sufferer here! I also recommend the magnesium supplement. Bonus is that it may also help with sleep for those struggling.
I also discovered adult liquid tylenol. I still cant get pills down without gagging and it has been a lifesaver. I think it also works quicker then pills.
There are also things your OB/PCP/ Neuro can give you. They don't work for everyone but definitely worth checking with them. I know women who swear by Fioricet while for me it's a total waste of money time and effort because it doent work. Imitrex has also been approved for use in pregnancy (I cannot thank my OB enough for this info, its what I was on anyway) so if you've use that in the past, they may okay it as an all else fails method.
@meagan-t@kindbytealikat@prpl11butterfly Thanks ladies. I have never had a migraine, but my headaches over the weekend were so bad that I wondered what was up. This is helpful info! Taking a magnesium supplement seems like the place to start.

@galentine we did a similar gender reveal with our first, but with black balloons. So all but one balloon had silver confetti in them, and then one had pink. We had family come up one by one and pop a balloon. It was maybe over the top, but fun!

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding out. we will likely go to this elective ultrasound place around 14/15 weeks to find out.
Upcoming Appointments: just had a virtual visit with my OB since I just had my NT scan Friday (everything looked great). sooo, next appt in 4 weeks.
How are you feeling?: still just so tired. really wish I could get some energy back!

GTKY: Tell us about your pets! I have two rescue pups. My fat boy is a 100lb pitt/rott/shepherd mix. He is such a big lazy baby who just wants to lay by the fire and have his butt scratched 24/7. And my sweet girl is a 50lb shepherd/coyote? mix. They actually told us she was part wolf when we got her, but she is just too small for that to be possible, but she looks very similar to the coyotes in our backyard. She is seriously the sweetest dog though. And she is amazing with DD; they are best buds.
@longhairdntcare, wow! Very cool that your dog might be a coyote mix! I would love to see a photo if you are comfortable sharing, but I totally understand if internet stranger danger is too much 😊
@cmbt2 Congrats on finding out! I also am not a big fan of pink and if we happen to have a girl will try to minimize that color from invading our lives too much (at least while I have a say in it!)
@cmbt2 Congrats on finding out! I also am not a big fan of pink and if we happen to have a girl will try to minimize that color from invading our lives too much (at least while I have a say in it!)
And I am the opposite, I freaking love pink 😬💕 it’s one of the reasons I’m team green because I know I will go balls to the wall if I find out it’s a girl 😆 there will be plenty of time for that later if we do end up having a girl! Oddly pink was my least favorite color growing up, idk when that switch happened...
Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: We'll be finding out, but not until the 20 week scan!
Upcoming Appointments: April 17 for my second visit.
How are you feeling?: Either ravenous or not interested in food at all 😂. Also emotional. Had to stop myself from crying while listening to Billy Joel songs yesterday. Brought back lots of warm childhood memories.
Rants/Raves: My work has been incredibly supportive of me so far this pregnancy. Some of my activities have to change per my OBs orders. It's been difficult for me to accept that, but my bosses have been incredibly responsive and proactive in accommodating those changes.
Questions: Not now 😊

@ineedsixeggs --- Walter is selective about his crumbs 😂 he thinks he wants everything, but really he just wants to taste most things and then spit them out on the floor
