@Schumerator, the Chinese predictor chart said boy for me too, and even though I know it means nothing, I definitely thought it was going to be right for me. I really thought we were having a boy. I know it's a 50/50 chance but somehow I was still very surprised it was a girl 😂
So the rental house we live in has three bedrooms. The thought was that DD1 and DD2 would share a room, SO and I would be in the master BR and then our au pair (currently viewing applications) could have BR 3. Turns out DD2 is still waking up a lot at night, so we put her in BR3 and SO and I take turns (-ish; it's mostly him) sleeping in the queen bed next to her crib. SO was on a business trip for 4 days last week and DD1 insisted on sleeping in that BR3 as well. I was leery because of DD2's nighttime antics but DD1 slept through them all and it made her so happy to be in the family room. Guess the kids can share a room sooner than I thought (in my darker hours I had visions of baby and DD1 sharing a room until college because DD2 wouldn't sleep through the night until she was 18).
I was mad at DH last night. I was dying for pineapples w/vanilla ice cream for dessert (why???). But he convinced me not to slice it because he wanted the kids to finish the few brownies we had (out kids are "odd" and prefer fruit to junk.....). I told him he would be cutting it for me because once I sat down I was done for the night. He never sliced it. He did it this morning but it didn't taste as good as it would have last night. I might still be a little upset with him....

My random thought of the morning...I would love for someone to come in and clean my house top to bottom. When I wasn’t feeling well (up until last weekend) I was doing just the bare minimum for us to survive in terms of housework. I’m now slowly able to do more but feel like the house is such a mess that I’ll never get on top of it! It’d be so nice to start from a clean slate and maintain from there.
@melanier26 YES! I need that too. DH was great while I was really feeling sick and he tried to pick up the slack. But he just doesn't deep clean in the same way I do and now we're pretty far behind. It would be amazing to have a pro come in and give me a fresh start again.

We started during my last pregnancy, when DH was literally doing everything (first because I was sick and later because I had trouble bending over) and it was taking a toll. No more arguing over whose turn it is to clean the bathroom, no more resentment about whether or not some chore is getting done fast enough. And as you said, we get to start over with a clean slate every time they come. Lots of companies are happy to just do a one-time cleaning. It’s not a crazy idea!

That's an amazing idea! SO is already on board for a regular service (which I kind of need to figure out the budget for...somewhere). So maybe shelling out more for a thorough thing that makes it easier for maintenance...hmmm
My random for today: I just placed an order for 5 dozen cookies, and I'm pretty freaking excited about it. Every day this week, I start the day planning to tell work about my pregnancy, and then every day I chicken out. I decided I need some kind of treat to provide to make the conversations less.... I don't know....intensely focused on me. Like, if I have a tray of cookies, I can say, "yep, I'm pregnant and due in October, but hey here's a cookie!" I know it's silly, but it's making me feel better. Plus, cookies!! Who doesn't love cookies?! I am SO excited to eat cookies.
Also, mid-week confession: I ordered 5 dozen cookies, but there are only about 25 people who work in my building. My pregnant self might have been a little over-eager for leftover cookies.

@melanier26, I didn't even hesitate. The lady on the phone said the party packs come in 2 dozen or 5 dozen, and I practically shouted, "5!! Definitely 5 dozen." 😂
We are trying to get DS to sleep in his new big boy bed all night. He loves it at bedtime but cried for 2 hours last night because he wanted me in his bed with him. The lack of sleep is hitting me HARD right now. I need to get my butt off the couch and get the kid ready for his first ever tball practice. I’m trying hard to be excited for him but really all I’m excited for is my bedtime tonight
@galentine What a great idea! I'm awkward in the same way so I didn't tell everyone at work - just my peers on the exec team and my own organization. I figure the rumor mill and seeing my belly get bigger will take care of the rest of the company. But man, I wish I'd thought of cookies!

I hate sleeves. I think I have made a total of two sleeveless items of clothing and both of them with help from my mom in all my years of sewing. I've made about a million shift dresses and even more tiered skirts, but sleeves? Urgh. I bought a pattern for kids' baseball shirts (the ones where the sleeves go to the neck) and will try that because everyone says those kinds of sleeves are so easy and I've got the most adorable fabric for it.
After all this talk of brownies and ice cream I had my husband go to the store and get ingredients for brownie sundaes. Can’t wait to make them with the kids tonight!
I'm officially out at work! Woot! What a strange feeling. As I suspected, my immediate coworkers were not at all surprised. They said they have just been politely waiting for my announcement before saying anything. Apparently my changing habits gave me away - all of the following was noted for why people "knew" I was pregnant: eating 2nd breakfast at my desk, leaving much earlier than normal for lunch, snacking all day, frequent bathroom trips, "looking tired" (lol thanks?!), wearing baggier clothing, and not drinking at a work event. LOL. I'm a little disappointed I didn't surprise anyone, but I guess it's pretty funny they all seemed to know and were just playing along politely until I made an announcement.
Oh, and no one is taking cookies.... I am going to have so many leftovers!!
