How are you feeling?: Overall pretty okay. Didn't have too much nausea over the weekend. Still really tired by the end of the day. I'm getting winded by just walking upstairs so DH has been doing a LOT of laundry runs for me.
Rants/Raves: Its almost lunch time. I'm drying for a ham sandwich (actually have been since I woke up lol). Rant is that the ladies room at work is out of order. Again. For like the 12 time this month.

GTKY: What was the most memorable gift you’ve received? When DS was born my grandmother gave me a baby blanket that my aunt had made years before for when I had a baby. She had passed away a few years before so it was just so special that she had thought ahead and prepared for that time 😭

I get Christmas tree ornaments for every major life milestone and buy one from everywhere we travel. This Christmas my ILs gave us a Christmas tree ornament that H's great grandmother cross-stitched, and it has our last name on it. I cried because it was so special ❤

How are you feeling?: Had some heartburn/bile in my throat this weekend. And some pains but I think it was because I wasn't drinking enough water.
Rants/Raves: WE ARE GOING TO DISNEYLAND TOMORROW!! I'm so excited, my work gives us one "Family Day" per year, so I get a paid day off plus $100 to spend (after taxes, more like $60). So we decided to go since DS has been asking and before it gets too crazy with the new Star Wars land opening in May. Since I can't go on any of the big rides, I fully intend to spoil myself with food (can't wait to get my hands on a churro)!

GTKY: What was the most memorable gift you’ve received? I have to share, but my twin sister and I received our great-grandmother's pearl necklace as a gift. It is so beautiful with a gorgeous clasp and very old. I wore it when I got married and since my sister didn't help pay for the cleaning/re-stringing of the necklace, I had the jeweler take out three pearls, and I had them make a single pearl necklace and earrings so I don't have to share those.

Rants/Raves: My SCH was non-existent at Friday's appointment so I'm no longer on bed rest of any kind! Yay! Did yoga this morning for the first time in two weeks and it was awesome. So happy to be back to "normal."

GTKY: What was the most memorable gift you’ve received? I'm a total daddy's girl, have always been super close with my Pops. On my wedding day, he presented me with a pair of bedazzled flip flops to wear (we got married on a beach) and he had written a special message to me on the shoes, calling me his little girl and telling me how proud and excited he was, etc. Needless to say I cried like a baby! Those shoes have a special place in my closet where they are on display, and always will.

How are you feeling?: Fairly crappy still, particularly in the evenings. Headaches, nausea and heartburn mainly. I was hoping the lessening of symptoms I felt at week 10 would continue to lessen, but it’s just sort of stayed level. Hoping it gets better soon.
Rants/Raves: Rave: I brought a healthy lunch to work today and have one lined up for tomorrow as well. No Rants right now.

GTKY: What was the most memorable gift you’ve received? MIL handmade two beautiful baby quilts for our first. We were team green so she made one that was more girly and the other more blue. At first I was a bit irked because I was set on gender neutral and she got our colors a bit wrong, but I quickly came to love them and especially how much love went into making them. We ended up using both quilts often. Technically they are not mine as they belong to DS, but still.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, now that I've mastered more of my nausea triggers. Still tired, but manageable.
Rants/Raves: Saw the heartbeat today, so I am over the moon about that! Also, I told my work BFF and am hopefully telling my principal today or tomorrow (whenever I can catch her for a minute). Starting to feel way more real. No major rants right now, but ask me again in about 20 minutes. My mood is all over the place, so I might have a complaint soon!
GTKY: What was the most memorable gift you’ve received? Not sure about most memorable, but I think my most cherished right now is a collection of my grandparents' vintage Christmas ornaments.They're all fine painted glasswork from the 50s and 60s, I think. When DH and I had our first real tree, we mentioned that we wanted to go more traditional with the look and were having trouble finding ornaments that weren't all glittery and crazy colors. That year, I got about 4 boxes full of all these beautiful old ornaments. We aren't using them right now, because toddler, but I am so glad I have them.

How are you feeling?: So excited and nervous for the apt with the genetic counselor on Weds! I’m so nervous and hope it goes well.
Rants/Raves: Rave: so glad to have made it to the 12 week mark! I love watching the weeks progress and seeing myself farther along.
Rant: My close friends from college rent a place in March every year for a night and get together. One of my friends I met with beforehand and told her about my pregnancy because she is having trouble conceiving her second. When I told the rest of my friends she got very annoyed, huffed and puffed, and ran off to the other room. I apologized and said no more pregnancy talk. But it was so hard because my friends (who are all moms, I’m the last to get pregnant) were happy and excited for me and wanted to hug me and talk about it a little. She was so hurtful to me the rest of the night, completely ignored me and separated herself from any conversation I tried to enter. It was so hurtful. I do understand she is upset because she isn’t getting pregnant easily with her second, but it was sad for me to be treated that way and made to feel bad for what should have been a really nice moment between me and my friends.
Questions: Does the second tri start the 12th week or 13th? My apps say different things! Also, how long until you all received your NIPT results?
GTKY: What was the most memorable gift you’ve received? My brother passed away last year and my friend made me a shadow box with his picture, obituary, and dried roses from his funeral. It still makes me cry thinking about how thoughtful it was of her.

My grandmother gave me a Christmas ornament every year that represented something about me that year. She kept up the tradition yearly through high school and more sporadically after that. She passed away ~5 years ago and last year my parents brought me a big box with all of my ornaments from over the years. This year was the first year that I had them all on my own tree and it was really special.

This was more than 15 years ago and I still have the tray. It's been used as a seat, a tray, a stool, a step aid, a drum....just everything. We're no longer in touch because Nice Guy Syndrome but that tray has been the most-used gift I've ever gotten.

Rants: My OB is making me do a baseline 24 hour urine test since I ended up with pregnancy induced hypertension last time. My other rant is how much more expensive it is to have a baby than it was 3 years ago!!! I'm going to be paying at least 3x as much out of pocket this time!
Raves: I was talking to my mom this morning, who is a nurse manager at the hospital that I'm going to deliver at. She's friends with the L&D nurse manager and told her I was going to deliver there and I'm planning on a med free birth. The L&D nurse manager said there's a few nurses there that are awesome with that and to let her know when I go into labor and she will try to get me one of those nurses! I'm so excited!!

Rants/Raves: My clothes don't fit. I don't want to wear maternity clothes yet b/c I think the ruching on the sides of the shirts will give me away. (I am not ready to tell work yet. Trying to hold out until 16 weeks). But maybe the fact that I wear the same five flowy-top outfits every week will give me away. That time when you don't really have a bump, but you are definitely bigger than normal is tough.

Rants/Raves: We heard the heartbeat and had a good look at baby today! Also, our offer on a house got accepted the other day. We are nervous and excited all at once about becoming home owners. On the rant side, I’m not quite ready to share my news yet but can’t hide this for much longer.
Questions: Any great face moisturizer to recommend? My skin is so so dry no matter what I put on it these days.

How are you feeling?: Pretty good. Nausea is basically gone, except for in the evening sometimes. And I'm peeing three or four times throughout the night, which is not the most fun.
Rants/Raves: I'm still really on edge from the car accident on Monday. I just hope my little girl is okay. I know that she is well protected in there, especially in the first trimester, but I'm not sure I'll be okay until she's born. Then I'll be worried about lots of different things!
Questions: Where is everyone registering? I really need to start looking this up, because I'm not even sure exactly what to register for! Like, are Diaper Genies still a thing?
GTKY: What was the most memorable gift you’ve received? Only because I'm completely obsessed, but anytime that my husband has surprised me with tickets to see Celine Dion. I've seen her in Vegas six times now. The last time we were there, I told my husband that I was pregnant!

A stuffed monkey and a blanket from my best friend when I was 16. No matter if he was dating someone at the time or not he always made sure to make my birthday special. We had been best friends for 23 years until he met his most recent girl friend who didn’t like me or my husband and we haven’t talked much since. It’s heartbreaking but I’m so grateful for the time that he was in my life. The monkey and blanket are two of my most loved possession because they hold so many wonderful memories.

GTKY: What was the most memorable gift you’ve received? I have Lebanese heritage. All the girls in the family get a gold necklace of their name in Arabic from Lebanon upon high school graduation. I was the last one to receive one that my grandfather actually physically brought back from Lebanon. He'd had it since I was 3, passed when I was 11.
