  • @prpl11butterfly, how sweet of your aunt to plan ahead with a baby blanket for you. That's really special ❤❤
  • @galentine LOVE IT.  :D

@steminist Yes, no actual pepto bismol intake over here. Unfortunately.
  • @steminist those ornaments sound amazing. I adore vintage Christmas decor! And yay for hearing the heartbeat today!!

@jenferlee82 glad you were cleared from bed rest. That’s great news!

@stephanie123456 yay for Disneyland! How fun! And now I really want a churro!!

@prpl11butterfly how sweet that your aunt made you a blanket years before. That is so touching.

Team Finding Out/Blue/Pink/Green: finding outtttt. Now that the blood has been drawn I'm on pins and needles. Argh!

Upcoming Appointments: April 18th with OB-GYN, May something for the 20 week screen

How are you feeling?: Feel a bit nauseous now and then but other than that solidly leaving nausea behind me. Boobs are getting bigger.

Rants/Raves: I could fall into bed every night at 9. Also feeling like a huge blob because I've been watching a lot more TV instead of doing other stuff like housework or garden work.

    Questions:

GTKY: What was the most memorable gift you’ve received? There's this guy in my undergrad dorm who was super awkward socially. So am I, so we became friends. He made me a lap tray by hand one year. This was more than 15 years ago and I still have the tray. It's been used as a seat, a tray, a stool, a step aid, a drum....just everything. We're no longer in touch because Nice Guy Syndrome but that tray has been the most-used gift I've ever gotten.

  • @theglitteredpterodactyl I totally get it, I have struggled with IF for years and have had previous losses. I’m not a newbie to this life or these big feelings and am not making it “all about me”.   It was hard on me when friends (including her) announced their  pregnancies.  I very much relate to that.  This is why I told her separately days before our friend trip.  I still can feel hurt though, and do. No matter how hard it was to see others I wouldn’t be blatantly mean or cruel to someone.
I've also been on both sides (IF and pregnant with IF friends). I think pterodactyl is right - she is obviously processing a lot more than it appeared. However, you went out of your way to tell her beforehand and even though it's painful, allowing a pregnant friend to have her 15 minutes of getting oohed and aaahed over by mutual friends is part of the pain. I don't know how often pregnancy and kids came up during the stay, but maybe it was just too much for her. How did she react when you'd told her in private?

My post-IF brain has been keeping me from announcing this pregnancy in my J13 BMB because I have many good friends there who only have one living child and have been hurt various times by birth stories and pregnancy announcements on the board. I'll obviously announce in due time, with TW, but I don't feel like it's the right time yet.

I can definitely see both sides of this. We struggled with IF for three years, and it is a burden that slowly buries you. I tried very hard to be excited for others who got pregnant during that time, but it certainly isn't easy no matter how much effort you put into it. That said, you did try to be sensitive to your friend's situation, which was the right thing to do. I think you just have to accept that she wasn't able to push through her own pain for your sake, and try to forgive her. After all, you're the one with the good news to focus on right now, so surely you can find room to forgive her for her reaction, show her some kindness, and move on - especially since it sounds like you've been in her shoes yourself.
  • @geminigirl16 congratulations on the new house!!  So exciting!!
I ALWAYS have dry skin!!  so I’m looking forward to any recommendations that won’t cause breakouts.  Thank for asking a great question!

@egb428 you can decline them reporting fetal sex.

The portal will give you your overall risk determination and then you click to download report, which has the sex dead center IF reported
