    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:7/1 25w

Baby is the size of a(n): eggplant

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Teddy Ruxpin

Upcoming Appointments: 4/8 but I need to call and move that, thanks for the reminder!

How are you feeling?: Ok, 3:30am is my new waking time and the baby's play time apparently

Rants/Raves: I'm going to rant and rave today. My rant is I've been posting a bump photo every 5 weeks to my instagram story, so yesterday I took one and posted for 25w. Well three separate people sent me a message just saying "oh my God" that's it. WHAT IS THAT? I got a lot of nice messages, but those three really bothered me and made me self conscious. I'm probably overreacting but it made me a mess yesterday. My rave is I got a white lace tiffany rose maternity gown on poshmark for $38 that's on the website for $550 and I think it will be perfect for maternity photos!

Questions: How do you all deal with the insomnia? I'm normally such a great sleeper so I am looking for some tips.

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc)? I cut out coffee unless I am DD and driving at night then I'll have a cup. All the usuals for sure, I think the only thing that I really cheat with is I have feta cheese on Friday's (I get Greek for lunch) and honestly I'm sure it's pasteurized, but that's my biggest cheat.

Baby is the size of a cantaloupe

    Team: Blue!

Upcoming appointments: March 20th we see the high risk OB for my first appointment to decide if I’m going to switch care from my midwife due to Velamentous cord insertion.

How are you feeling? Anxious, baby has been moving a ton lately and yesterday he was pretty quiet so I was kind of freaking out but today he’s back to jumping around so I’m feeling a bit better. I’ve been having some crazy dreams lately which are keeping me up so I’m right there with you @gbud630 on the lack of sleep!

Rants/Raves: our basement Reno’s are starting to drive me crazy. The big rave of the weekend was H got the shower/tub installed. But he still has a ton left to do, and it’s stressing us both because ideally I want the basement done before we start the nursery, since we’re currently using that room for storage. Plus we had a big melt and our backyard flooded so that took up a bunch of time and hubby now has to spend time/money putting in a new drainage system when the weather gets nicer. Just so much going on!

Questions: how is everyone doing on the weight gain? I’m feeling like I’m up more than I want to be at this stage so interested in hearing what everyone else is doing to keep it in check.

GTKY: which of the do’s and dont’s of pregnancy do you actually follow? I try to limit caffeine (no coffee, limiting tea), try limiting deli meats but I have slipped and had a turkey sandwich a few times, definitely no alcohol. I don’t really follow the heavy lifting suggestions, I still try and bring all the groceries in one trip but eventually I’ll have to stop!

    Upcoming Appointments: end of month

How are you feeling?: Tired, but still working out and taking walks

Rants/Raves:  Can’t wait for spring to fully arrive.

    Questions:

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc)? I pretty much follow everything. I still drink 1 cup of coffee a day, but my dr says 1-2 is ok.  I ate cooked but cold bacon several times without realizing it was a no no. Since I realized it should be eaten hot, I only eat it hot. I still lift my 40 lb son, but the dr didn’t say I need to stop that.

    @gbud630

    If it’s pasteurized, it’s fine.

  • @mrscammack well I got yelled at about my weight at my last appt so not doing great, I was on such a roll working out, but then I got sick and the boat just sank. I can't help it I'm always hungry, but now I am just trying to make healthy replacements. The thing is I gain weight sooo easily so my entire life is a diet to maintain my normal weight - so pregnancy was a good excuse to eat things I normally wouldn't (not even anything crazy I'm talking popchips with lunch). But alas, I guess that is done and my popchips have been replaced by carrots, cereal is back to nonfat yogurt with a banana, and salads are the main event again. Hopefully, I have a better conversation at my next visit. I will say I kept repeating to my midwife, but all my clothes still fit - did you know these leggings are a maternity small??? - she was not impressed at all - 10lbs in a month (yikes I know) is apparently unacceptable even if you can still squeeze your self into your leggings.

Baby is the size of a(n): Ear of Corn or a Cantaloupe

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink

    Upcoming Appointments: Not until April

How are you feeling?: Anxious and Cranky - I had to put myself to bed early last night because of mood.

Rants/Raves:  Rant - had to come to school super early this morning because the paperwork I tried doing at home was not working - the site I need was down. Rant #2 School has been in session for 35 minutes and literally every boy in my first hour class has a pissy attitude and it is making me crankier.

Questions: Braxton Hicks - I know we have a thread, and I said that I never had them, but I started to wonder, is that what the weird tight and suddenly heavy feeling in my ute is? If so I have been getting them since the first tri, if not - what the heck are they?!

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc)?

I don't drink. I literally will not go anywhere near alcohol - the result of working with WAY too many FAS students and seeing the true downsides of drinking while pregnant. I'm not judging y'all for a sip here or there or one glass of whatever per trimester or anything else, but I cannot do it.

  • @mrscammack I wouldn’t stress too much about the basement. DD was in our room with us for 6 months before she went into her nursery. We’re just starting to finish our basement too, and that’s my rationale. We’ve got tome even after baby comes.

@gbud630 way to go on the maternity dress score! I’m sure the pictures will be amazing!

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/7, 24+1

Baby is the size of a(n): eggplant/cantaloupe

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): 💙

Upcoming Appointments: I have another US for heart anatomy and face shots on 3/21. Also, another group session the same day.

How are you feeling?: The SPD pain is increasing, so I’ll probably talk to the OB about that next time I go in. she’ll recommend a belly band to hold things together, so I already know what to do, just being lazy...

Rants/Raves:  Rave: we gave up fast food for lent, and it’s been going really good! I’m actually surprised!

    Questions:

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc)?

Oh man, I still have my one cup of coffee and sometimes a coke for lunch... so caffeine intake is so bad.... If DH gets a beer, I usually have a sip. I figure a sip is better than an entire bottle. I’ve had runny eggs every once in a while when I’m craving them. No lunch meats yet. They say exercise, and I’m soooo bad at exercising! So I haven’t done a great job at that. I do sleep on my sides, which is painful at times, but at least I follow that “rule”.

  • @gbud630 I feel like I’m in the same boat, I gain sooo easily and I had a period where I was sick so I didn’t do the gym for a few weeks - plus now that we’ve discovered the cord issues and my pregnancy is technically high risk I want to wait to see the OB to make sure everything is safe before continuing to work out. I feel like if you’re in a size small maternity I have no idea why they’d be concerned!!!

I gained like 50/60lbs with my first 😣 I’m up like 18lbs so far so I know I’m on track to hopefully not gain more than 30 but it’s just so stressful!

@jenniferjoy37 DD was in our room about 8 months with us and I plan on 6 months for this little guy too but I just hate the idea of not having his room at least done enough that I can organize his clothes and stuff. You’re right though in the grand scheme of things if we’re still finishing up when baby gets here everything will be fine! I do need to keep reminding myself that his room isn’t a big deal right off the bat
  • @mrscammack oh you are great, you can definitely pull that off! Hopefully they give you the clear, fingers crossed for you! And yes you would think - midwife was not impressed at all with my sizing, all she saw was 10lbs since my last visit. This is my first and I have a feeling I'll be over 40 for sure - probably over 50 if I'm being honest with myself. But, I try to remember my mom gained 60lbs with my brother and that girl is rocking her bod at 60 years old now - she looks amazing.

Baby is the size of a(n): Cantaloupe

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Keeping it a secret... except I accidentally used a pronoun in from of my mother, so we have told our parents

Upcoming Appointments: none until early April

How are you feeling?: Pregnancy-wise, pretty good. I think I may be coming down with a cold.

Rants/Raves:  It was a tough week leading up to my grandmother’s funeral on Saturday, but it’s getting better. (Thanks for all the kind thoughts last week). DH ordered a hooded duck blanket, which is pretty much the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, and that definitely helped lift my mood some. It was also nice to be able to share some of the LO’s movements with my family. At one point, I was wearing a flowered shirt, and based on where the baby was positioned and moving, it looked like one of the flowers was alive. The whole extended family got a kick out of that.

    Questions:

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc)?

I think I’m following everything, for the most part. I have forgotten to check if the feta cheese on a salad was pasteurized, and I did forget to heat up some deli turkey over the weekend. I think the most confusing thing is the heavy lifting, as it really does vary based on what each of us is used to carrying on a regular basis. My husband and his mother would prefer I do “no lifting”, but I’m just using my discretion.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 25+0 / July 1st (RCS June 24 or 25)

Baby is the size of a(n):  Tarte Tatin

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink:)

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday for regular OB appointment

How are you feeling?: Nauseous and full. All the time. Plus super sore (see rant below).

Rants/Raves:  I fell backwards off the bed yesterday when I was trying to build a fort with DD. From standing. I landed on my back and spent this morning in L&D. Everything is fine but I've done a serious number on some of the muscles in my legs and I'm pretty bruised all over. Walking is painful. Rave is that baby sounded perfect. I could rant about how my super sweet 5 year old has turned into a monster but there isn't enough space for that here:/

    Questions:

GTKY: I follow pretty much everything to do with food, plus no alcohol or caffeine. I try to be active although that's not going to be happening for a week or two until I'm healed. But the heavy lifting I don't follow. I move furniture, shovel snow, carry my 5 year old DD around (she's under 40 lbs but still), etc. But other than the heavy lifting I'm pretty paranoid about everything else.

  • @mrscammack I was up 7lbs a month ago...and I have no desire at all to step on a scale. I'll likely weigh myself before my appointment but I'm expecting to be up like 10 lbs more than last month. Honestly I'm just focusing on getting baby here safely and I'll worry about the weight afterwards. I'm looking forward to getting my butt in gear with baby attached to me:)

@indulgentgypsy Yep. That's the feeling. It's that tightening sensation and then release.
  • @Panaceia yikes I’m glad you’re okay after the fall!
  • @Panaceia That sounds so scary! Glad to hear your LO is ok, and that you are going to be all right too

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): N/A

Upcoming Appointments:  Glucose at the end of the month. 🤢

How are you feeling?:  Horrible, trying my best to not have a massive panic attack since my husband has been in the hospital since Wednesday with severe heart issues.

I had BH for 3 hours earlier that were non-stop. The only thing to slow them was laying down. Sitting they kept going and standing they would not stop. I cpuld put my feet up for 15 minutes or longer and as soon as I  stopd up  they would start right back up.

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc).

No alcohol. I was trying to limit my lifting, but that kind of went out the window over the past week. I follow most things, but I do have caffine (but no coffee and minimal pop) and I still eat salami.

  • @key33 I hope your husband gets better soon! Heart issues are always super scary. I’m sure it’ll be okay. He’s in the best place possible right now!

@Panaceia I hope you heal up soon!
  • @key33, I hope he’s better soon. Stress can make BH worse... so deep breaths, mama!

    @Panaceia, OUCH! That sucks.

Baby is the size of a(n): cantaloupe

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink

Upcoming Appointments: Glucose on Thursday! I literally cannot believe I’ve made it to glucose.

How are you feeling?: Crappy lately. Exhaustion is back. I can’t eat again... moody. I just haven’t enjoyed this pregnancy.

Rants/Raves:  See above! Also, we’ve made the decision not to move before baby. And it’s got me super bummed.

    Questions: None.

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc)?

Wow! A lot of rule followers here! I don’t do alcohol, I do only one caffeine/day, no lunch meat unless heated first.

Heavy lifting.... I’ve cut back? But i still do it. I generally base it on how I feel.

My overall weight gain is still good, but things are definitely picking up. I guess it’ll be helped by my sudden hatred of food again.

  • I am 25wks and a day. Team green. My next apt will be my glucose test and rhogham- so that’s a fun one. With my daughter after glucose test I felt so hung over I was tired with an awful headache and slept all day. I sure hope I don’t feel like that again- anyone have a similar experience? Overall I feel great again- no more flu. I’m loving all the movement from baby. As far as rules go- I don’t drink alcohol. I haven’t had  lunch meat up until a couple days ago when I HAD to have a ham sandwich. I am careful about lifting to an extent- I am a nurse so sometimes I gotta do what I gotta do. Coffee is life so def 1-2 cups a day.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 2nd / 25 weeks!

Baby is the size of a(n): cauliflower

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): blue 💙

Upcoming Appointments:  glucose test and regular OB appointment next week then my rhogam shot the next day

How are you feeling?: overall pretty good for once. Very tired

Rants/Raves:  annoyed at work. I’m a teacher so I’ll be home for summer when this baby comes. Well apparently my principal told the special ed supervisor I can take a class for some test the last week of June.  One, I’m not contractually obligated to work in the summer and two she knows I’m due July 2nd and most likely going to deliver the end of June according to my dr. So now it makes me look bad that I can’t go to this class. Just annoyed about it

Questions: none that I can think of

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc)?

I’m really paranoid about everything so I follow pretty much all of the rules. No alcohol, no coffee (but I wasn’t a coffee drinker before) no lunch meat. But all I want is a turkey and cheese sandwich. Cold not heated up. So it’s really hard not to eat one when it’s all I want

  • @key33 I hope that you take good care of yourself while you are dealing with this stressful situation. Saying some prayers for both you and your husband.
  • @key33 I hope everything is ok with your H! Thinking of you guys❤
  • @mrscammack So I bit the bullet and weighed myself this morning. I'm up another 7 lbs...so 14 lbs total at this point:/ I'm already 3lbs over the weight I was when I delivered DD. I was hoping to stay closer to that weight but that idea is looking like a pipe dream now. I'm going to have to try a little harder but the only time I don't feel super nauseous is when I'm eating:/ I'll be ok of I can stay within another 9ish lbs. But I still have almost 14 weeks to go.
  • @key33 Thinking of you and your DH!
  • @Panaceia I feel ya mama. Up 30lbs and desperate to only go up another 10 total. Trying to move more and make better food choices.
  • @Panaceia I’m right there with you, I really didn’t want to go over the weight I was when I had DD but the idea of only gaining another 10lbs in 15 weeks seems daunting. I guess we just have to be thankful we’re growing healthy babies and really commit to getting our butts in gear to work out after they come!
  • @Panaceia Same boat with the weight gain! I’m up 14 lbs, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be at least another 15-25 before it’s all said and done! As long as it’s a healthy baby, I’m not too concerned. I gained 40 lbs with DD, and only lost 20 before getting pregnant again. My goal would be to stay under 200, and I’m st 183 right now. So meh, we’ll see what happens!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 3rd/ 25 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n): size 6 shoe

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): blue

Upcoming Appointments: just had a glucose screen early, next appointment is mid-April

How are you feeling?: tired mostly, iron levels came back normal as did my thyroid results so I’m just tired.

Rants/Raves: I am having trouble fitting into my shoes now. If I put them on in the am before I do anything I’m alright, but the swelling has begun. It’s not severe, just annoying so far. Thank goodness it’s getting warmer out so I can run around barefoot outside with the boys.

Questions: what type of car seat are you going with? We decided against an infant carrier and have opted to go with the Graco 4Ever 4 in 1 seat. We’ll babyware everywhere we go because it’s easier for us with two adventurous boys, one toddler and pre-schooler.

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc)? All I crave right now is turkey and pickle sandwiches. I try to heat the meat up as often as I can, but I usually forget and eat it cold anyway. I also cannot part with my caffeine 😂 Dr Pepper and tea is life!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/7 24wks/3days

Baby is the size of a(n): cantaloupe

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out):💙

Upcoming Appointments: Just had glucose test today and have my next appt in 2 weeks

How are you feeling?: pretty good

Rants/Raves:  It feels like baby boy is kicking me in the vagina daily.

    Questions: None

GTKY: Which of the dos and don'ts of pregnancy do you actually follow (food, heavy lifting, etc)? I’m working out, however, I’m not really tracking my food intake. Oh well.

  • @hellmanpartyof5 We have an extra Peg Perego convertible. I bought one for my parents' car but I'm not comfortable with them driving DD around anymore  (they're almost 80) so I'm going to use it for this LO. It has about 2 to 3 years left before it expires and I can't really rationalize buying another seat. Like you I baby wear. I'm not a fan of strollers in general...or infant seats...so we're going straight to the convertible this time.
  • @jenniferjoy37 @mrscammack @indulgentgypsy Thanks guys:) This makes me feel better. I guess we'll just all have fun motivating eachother to get our butts in gear once baby is here. I think because I was so sick with DD and didn't gain until near the end I don't really know what is normal. I have to stop comparing my 40 year old self to my 34 year old self and just focus on getting baby here safely!
  • @brake09 Oh girl. Have you have the kicks in the ass yet?! That’s a whole new world! Haha!

@Panaceia you’ve got this mama! Hang in there, it’s just a number. You’re right, healthy baby is all you want!
  • @key33 I’m glad they’re taking care of you too. I can’t even imagine the stress. Like I said in a previous post: this is just a little blip in the radar, you guys will get through this!

  • key33key33 member
Yes, very thankful! He was at work the day before he went in and has a labor intensive job.
  • I give kuddos to all you mamas that have been able to cut down / cut out caffeine. You can pry mine from my cold dead hands. I cut down the first trimester because apparently the mouse was not a coffee fan (everything except peppermint mocha). I am not drinking my usual pot or two of coffee a day, but this morning my complete exhaustion demanded I stop at the gas station for super reved extra caffeine coffee.
  • OK I need someone to talk me down off a ledge. I had a bit of blood in my discharge today. I went in on Monday for monitoring after my fall on Sunday and everything was good. I had my OB appointment today and he said everything looked good. He asked if there was any bleeding and I said no...but when I got home from work today there was a little bit and now I'm freaking out. He didn't do any type of exam and there has been no intercourse lately so I can't think of a reason for it...besides maybe some heavy lifting or straining to go to the bathroom. Anecdotes or opinions welcome. I'll likely call my OB tonight and leave a message but in the meantime...any opinions?
  • @Panaceia I’m sorry I don’t know about this! I’m sorry you’re dealing with the anxiety of it. I’d check with your dr. I hope everything is ok.
  • Thanks @mama_bear19 . There doesn't seem to be any more but I'm going to call in the morning anyways. I'd rather be safe and go back in if they think it's warranted than not call at all.
  • @Panaceia I'd definitely be calling mama. ❤ stay strong.
  • @panaceia what did the dr say? I’d also rather be on the cautious side and call in.
