@bows22 Welcome!  I know of several women whose LP changed PP, so I wouldn't necessarily assume it's the same. A few cycles of charting should help you answer that, though.

Rant/Rave/Brag: DS started doing this amazing thing. Every time I say I love you, he blows kisses. Oh my heart, it is too cute.

GTKY: I’m in Texas, so it’s kind of in the middle. Per Google, the farthest I’ve gone is Croatia. We went on a family trip after my dad’s mom died to Germany, Italy, and Croatia.

  • @bows22 Welcome!! I just recently got back from a trip to Napa Valley with my husband.  It was absolutely amazing!  We originally wanted to do that trip for our honeymoon (we got married this past September) but it just wasn't in the cards, so we treated this as our late honeymoon and also to get some time in for ourselves before another baby.  We can't wait to go back, but next time over the summer so we can see the fruits growing!

  • @mercury94 that is so cute about DS and the kisses! Aw.
@bows22 welcome! I haven't had a complete cycle yet since I had my son, so I can't comment on the LP length.
@lcking82 I didn't temp today.. but maybe I will pick it back up tomorrow. It was nice to sleep in and not wake up because of the thermometer. I know my LP used to be 14 days, but I'm guessing there might be some fluctuation as I regain cycles. How are you doing on your LP with letrozole? I've read it can lengthen it because of "stronger O"
@kpearse99 yes, it's been forever. When they ask me at the doctor the start date of my last period their system won't let them type Dec 2016 it's "invalid"

  • @bows22 I feel like my LP is the same as pre-baby but I have only temped for 3 cycles so hard to say what they were prior to me tracking things.

@mercury94 Aww when they blow kisses its the cutest thing!!

  • @kpearse99 we went in the summer and took a tour through a vineyard and got to sample different grapes - it was pretty
cool! there were wildfires nearby which gave me a little bit of anxiety which I guess is the downside of being there during summer.

thanks everyone for the replies to my LP question! I haven’t really been charting in detail - I have a really short LH surge and sometimes miss a positive OPK so temping is really the best way for me to know O date. I got so consumed in my temps/chart while TTC my DD that I was trying to avoid the stress this time around and just go by CM and HIO EOD. I liked knowing what was happening in my body though so I may start again soon.
  • @NYTino24 I'm so sorry you're not feeling well at all.  I hope you feel better soon!! Get as much rest as you can!!

  • TTC is hitting me hard tonight. I’m snuggled up my DD right now and feel such an overwhelming love for her but also the most intense fear that I’m not going to be able to have another. I realize that I’m so so so lucky to have her, and feel guilty to even be longing so triangle for a second child, but just can’t shake the funk tonight.
  • @NYTino24 Feel better soon! That sucks!
@lcking82 Sorry for the rough night. TTC is tough!

I feel for you, I really do. I know exactly how you feel - the guilt is real but it's impossible to shake the desire for another. I feel like since I started TTC this time around I see my DD in a totally different light - she's a miracle and I tell her that every day. I hope your funk goes away soon, and most importantly I hope you can move on out of here ASAP.
  • @lcking82 and @jennifer_louise Totally connected to what you guys are saying!
  • @lcking82 I totally know what you mean.  Like @jennifer_louise said, TTC this time has made me appreciate DS so much more than I already did.  I feel guilty for complaining so much all of those times it was hard because turns out I was taking it all for granted.  Not everyone is as lucky as I am, so I try really hard to appreciate that, even though my heart aches so badly for another one.  Big hugs!

  • @lcking82 offering you love and hugs from afar, just like the other ladies.  I'm right there with you, as I feel that way often.  Especially because DS is older and he so badly wants a sibling (preferably a little sister).  He asks often when he can get his baby sister, and how old will he be or what month will she arrive.  Like @jennifer_louise said, I have also been seeing DS in a different light.  I find myself embracing moments more and trying to make them last longer.... mostly because I know I need to be present more and just live in the moments but also because I fear I may never get those moments again. <3<3

Thanks @kpearse99 and @MrsVP614 *TMI* Add in a wicked chemical burn from using pads?! I just couldn’t deal with tampons or the cup since I’m feeling so crappy. I’m off work again since the flu and cold and AF still aren’t gone, coincidentally all on their sixth day. I decided to add in night weaning a few days ago too. I’m headed to the OB to see what she can do and I’m going to ask about all that’s going on with the short LP, low temps, and heavy / long periods. I am so stressed out and tired. I just want one normal day!

  • @lcking82 - Just had a moment like that this evening. I was reading I Prayed For You to my DD before bed and just started bawling. If she's my only child, then I want to enjoy every moment I have with her.
  • I’m so glad to have y’all here to share with. Thank you all so much.

    @marebear15:  hugs hugs hugs
  • @kpearse99 She said it’s an allergic reaction and prescribed lidocaine cream, but I got to the pharmacy and it was like $185 since insurance didn’t cover it for some reason. I skipped that. She said something about not worrying until age 40 because the “35 age has to do with risk of amniocentesis” or some other BS like that. She didn’t seem concerned at all about 8 day LP, which is ridiculous and another reminder why I’m switching practices and can’t wait for my new OB in April. I almost had a panic attack when I saw the doc who delivered my son. I hate the anxiety that this all brings up!!!

  • @lcking82 I had a similar night last night. I love DS and if he’s my only, that’s amazing, because he’s amazing. But, we want one more so badly. We just don’t feel like our family is complete yet. And, I’ve always imagined him having a sibling. We’re close to my brother and DH’s sister. I want him to have that. *TW* I found out a co-worker is KU. Her kid is the same age as DS. *End TW* So, all of that hit me hard yesterday as I know this is likely not a short journey for me.

  • @mercury94:  hugs to you too.  It's just hard sometimes

  • Sorry I’m so late and I’m only on mobile because we’re out of town right now!  This week was very busy so I’m just getting on now :(

What number are you trying for? 2

Month/Cycle? Just going onto month 10 and kind of cycle 2 since I’m on my second cycle of ovulating

    WTO/TWW? TWW

Ages of other child(ren)? 19 months

Any thoughts about this cycle? I AM SO CONFUSED. Based on my chart this month, at CD23 I didn’t think that I had even ovulated yet since I was comparing it to my last month. Then I got my progesterone checked and it was 12.64–so I had ovulated. So then I started my nightly progesterone but I have no idea what DPO I am since I never got a positive OPK.

Any questions?   Does anyone know how quickly progesterone rises after ovulation? Like I know they like to test one week after since that’s peak time but I also know that I can’t determine what DPO I actually was when I got the test done and it’s driving me crazy

Rant/Rave/Brag: DD says “frog” now... but it definitely doesn’t sound like frog. I try to not laugh but it’s hilarious hearing her little cartoon voice semi-curse

GTKY: I'm from the Midwest and have never been to Europe (yet) so I’m lame and it’d be Washington state

  • @flinstone-2 yay for ovulating!!! Hopefully your next week goes quickly :)

@NYTino24 oh my goodness. I’m sorry that all those things are going on for you. Hopefully at leeeeeast AF will leave immediately!  Also, suuuper glad you’re going to a new practice if that was your OB’s reply to an 8 day LP!
  • @marebear15 our DD got a Shutterfly book from our friends and it spells her name on every page and that’s a recent obbsession. I think she’s narcissistic but, for now, it’s okay! Haha
  • @kpearse99 I already used it before going to the OB. Luckily just removing the exposure helped it mostly go away within a couple of days.
@mokay19 I know! No one in our local mom group recommends this practice anymore. Their attitudes stink.

  • @spartanrd4 – we should have planned more for DST but with illnesses it just didn’t happen. Luckily, I ended up just skipping her second nap and that reset her pretty quickly.

@millpe – usually there is a pattern that follows what BBT does but my last two cycles have not followed that same pattern so who knows. The cycle I got KUd with DD, my RHR increased after O and stayed up until I stopped wearing my Fitbit because it was giving me anxiety. It was 10-15 bpm higher than during AF/before O.

@kpearse99 – I like the fall one better mainly because it sometimes falls on my birthday so extra hour on my bday!

@spacemountaineer – I hope that you had fun at the bridal shower this weekend.

@icking82 – sorry you are feeling pessimistic this cycle and I hope that you are feeling better after a rough TTC night the other night. I wish this process was as easy as sex ed made it seem. :/ I’ve also been trying to stress less this time around and enjoy the baby I do have even though I desperately want more babies.

@ruby696 – good luck with your first IUI! And yay for potty training!

@begging4abump – I actually went to Germany a good 15/16 years ago when I was 13 so the only things I can really remember to suggest are – 1. Don’t go through Newark (we missed 3 flights because of that one airport) 2. They have really good ice cream. 3. Rent a car that would be fun to drive on the autobahn. LOL! We loved to see the castles (especially the one the Disney castle is inspired by). My parents love going to Munich for Oktoberfest so if able/like to drink, that’s a fun time to go. It may be fun to go even if you don’t/can’t drink though (my mom isn’t a drinker). I wish I had more suggestions lol Also, I wish I had better suggestions for the grandparents question as well. My parents live 1000 miles away so I let them spoil her when they can. The biggest issue I have with DH’s parents is they can’t seem to see her enough, in their opinion, so I just set the precedent right away that they only get to see her 1-2X per week (which is still A LOT!). They buy her a lot though and it's starting to get really frustrating because it's way too much. Not sure how to stop that though.

@mrsvp614 – so sorry for your loss

@mrsjesss – I check my cm/cp almost every time I go to the bathroom and pick the most fertile for the day.

    @flinstone-2 – yay for O!

@bows22 – welcome! My LP has been all over the place since my cycles started back up but I’m also breastfeeding still (and only tracking CM and CP so it could be shorter/longer than I think too). They have generally been shorter – 10 to 12 days verse 13 days when trying for DD.

@mercury94 – aw that is so cute of your DS to blow kisses when you say I love you. I’ve gotten a couple of cheek kisses from my DD so far – I guess that is something to look forward.

@NYTino24 – I hope you feel better soon!

@mokay19 – sorry for the confusing chart and progesterone tests. I hope things get cleared up!

  • @begging4abump - No one knows that we are TTGP. DH is swamped at work and so getting down here would have been really hard. Plus, my mother and I were working until late in the night getting ready for the shower the next morning. I couldn't have gotten away. Thanks for thinking of me!
  • @justkeepswimming8 thanks! when did your cycles return? I exclusively pumped and mine came back at 4 months PP, but I pumped until DD was 13 months and my cycles were always much shorter than pre-pregnancy. I’ve been done pumping for about 3 months now and my last 2 cycles have been more what I am used to so maybe the pumping was affecting me more than I realized. I hope your house has adjusted to daylight savings! DD still wants to sleep in every day.
  • @bows22 - my cycles returned around 8/9 months PP and we are still breastfeeding. My cycles have been anywhere from 29 - 37 days when before getting pregnant they were a solid 28 days. It has been a later ovulation that has lengthened my cycles with a shorter LP. I'm hoping they get more normal once we wean (which is happening soon hopefully). I have read that breastfeeding/pumping hormones can mess with your cycles so it sounds like that is what has been happening to us and a few other moms on here. Yes she has finally adjusted to DST but I still haven't lol
