1st Trimester

11 days late and negative tests?!

I breastfed my DD, who turns 1 tomorrow, for 8 months. Got my first period January 1st, next one February 1st, now nothing March 1st and nothing since! 11 days late. I have taken two test and both negative. How long should I wait to take another? Could I still be pregnant?

It's against TOU to Sk if pregnant. Your cycles can be way off after BF'ing and you just may be irregular, yet.  No one can tell you.  Test again in a week, if you dont get your cycle within a few months and still getting negative pregnancy tests, let your doctor know.

Postpartum cycles are wacky. If the tests are negative you are not pregnant.

  • when your cycle comes back it is normal for it to be very irregular. So unless your temping, and or using OPK's you won't have a good idea of when you ovulate. Also your LP may be much shorter initially. negative tests mean not pregnant.

  • I know this is a older posting but for anyone reading this in the future "negative tests mean not pregnant" is not always true. It can simply be too early for hormones to register a positive. This pregnancy I got a faint line at 8 days late. And didnt have an instant positive until 10 days late.
