  • DH has the flu. 😷😷😷😷😷😷 That is all. Now I have to try to keep myself and DS from getting it.  :|

  • I'll gladly be the first post on this thread.
Where I work, we don't have an "invite one, invite everyone" policy because the last get together we had there was a fight that broke out so everyone just does there own thing. I got invited, key word invited, to a game night 2 weekends ago and one of my best friends from work was not invited (she was the one who caused the fight at the last work event) and hasn't spoke to me strictly for the reason I went and she wasn't told about it. If you ask me, she should be upset with the host but she is not and has had me as her target for 2 weeks now. 🙄
  • I have been up since 4 fucking 30. I am exhausted. I had to pee and then I was hungry but didn't want to eat because I wanted to sleep and I should've just gotten up to get a banana and then tried to go back to sleep. I am tired. I also took DS2 to the doctor today and our insurance with my company sucks so much so it was $198 to tell me that he has Molluscum, which is exactly what I thought it was and there's nothing we can do. I also missed my therapy appt by double booking so I have to pay the $75 broken appt fee and didn't get to go.

    I hate Mondays.
  • @WinchesterGirl Fx you don't get it... ugg that would be awful.
@lilmamabebe3 that is a hell of a monday

daylight savings time is cruel and unusual punishment for parents of young children. last night was such a CF.

@WinchesterGirl nooooooooo! I hope you & your kiddo stay healthy. Spray allllllllll the Lysol!

@brianalee2984 that's ridiculously immature of her.

@lilmamabebe3 I hope you get some early sleep tonight.

@EmilyA724 I'm back on the all carb & fruit diet. I was feeling mostly better until the past couple days; now I'm back on Zofran and trying not to die.

My MBF is that I'm already having symptoms in this pregnancy that I didn't have until my third the first time around. Sore vag, frequent trips to the bathroom, constipation, etc. Woof.
  • I feel like crap. DST sucks. Trying to do an MBA while pregnant is a terrible idea.

  • @WinchesterGirl DH has been coughing and snotting for a week now and I’m like “go to the freakin’ doctor already”. I’ve managed to fight off several rounds of sickness that has come through our house in the last few months, but I feel like my immune system is wearing down. I *may* have told him I don’t have time to get sick, which is true, but I also don’t want anymore symptoms. Trying to keep kissing to a minimum... I can imagine the germs just jumping over 🤧😷.
  • @EmilyA724 I have that set up too (or so I thought). I went to check my settings and it only waits for my approval if I'm tagged them in before they'll post on my wall. I'll have to see where that setting is for all posts.

  • Well I had a great nights sleep and was feeling more positive towards my father now that he moved out of my house.  Unfortunately the Dad Saga continues!! He had a friend call the Sheriff to do a welfare check. I * AM * NOT * EVEN * KIDDING.  2 Sheriffs followed by an Ambulance ripped down my driveway this AM because a 63 year old man needed attention.  He put on a good show and was whisked off to the emergency room.  I told them I am not picking him up, nor is my husband. Good old dad will have to call a friend to bring him home. Sorry not sorry but I don't need this in my life.
  • @WinchesterGirl Nooooo. DS and I had the flu this weekend. DH said he had "some symptoms" but I think he was just tired of having to be lead parent. Its the worst. Hope you guys stay healthy!

Along those lines, I'm at work today but I still feel like garbage. And my nausea is back with a vengeance.

@agpandme OMG. I am SO sorry. Did he do it b/c he’s mad you moved him out of the house?? Weren’t you looking to get him placed back in a care facility? If so, maybe this is a blessing in disguise...social services at the hospital might be able to expedite the process 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • @MollyH1987 You're right, I guess it's tagging and not directly to my timeline that I have restricted. I guess people so rarely write directly on other people's walls anymore that I didn't think about it. It looks like you can make it so only you can post on your timeline.

  • @aecm The facility won't take him back.  I tried.  They said insurance won't cover it because he doesn't have a physical need.  Hopefully they will now deem him unable to live here and insurance will have to cover it.  Thats all I can hope for.  I'm sure he will tell them all about how mean we are.  We are SO mean for taking away his walker because hes throwing it at the windows and at us.  Its just such a joke.  He is much smarter than he shows people. He had the mind set to make sure to log out of his computer so I couldn't check to see who he contacted to call for the welfare check.  The worst thing about the welfare checks is that they are obligated to check EVERY SINGLE TIME.  He could call every day if he felt like it and they would be here.
  • @agpandme no. Freaking. Way! What is WRONG with him?! Holy cow....

@MollyH1987 wow. So not cool! What makes her think she can (sorry brain is exhausted and can't come up with the right term...) Be the one who announces to the FB world?! What's wrong with people? I would have been pissed and deleted it.

@lilmamabebe3 I second being completely exhausted today. I couldn't fall asleep last night. finally passed out between 130-2 Am. Then the dog woke me at 4. she whined for a long time to go out, and DH continued to sleep through it. So I got up, knowing it was the end of the sleep for me. Once I'm up I'm screwed. So if I'm being generous, I slept from 130-4. I'm in such a bad mood. And I had to cancel plans with my friend because I feel like crap from lack of sleep. I feel like there is going to be some future resentment during late night feedings, for my DH sleeping with his useless nipples....
Usually I can function well on 3 hours of sleep. Apparently not while pregnant.

@brianalee2984 it sounds like your coworker friend is ...super immature and needs to grow up. Why take it out on you?! Seriously. She needs to do some self evaluation....

@agpandme I'm so sorry you're in this situation with your Dad.  As a RN case manager I can tell you that your situation is by far the most difficult, because unless there is a skilled need, insurance won't pay.  So it comes down to him (or you) paying out of pocket for a different living situation. It is just the worst to see the impact and negativity some parents have on their children and their families.  I hope you can figure something out that works better for both of you.  Is he capable mentally and financially of living somewhat independently? Maybe a residential facility that is more of a home like setting where meals are taken care of? There are placement agencies where you can give them a budget and needs and they will look for you free of cost and they generally have a better idea of additional facilities in your area that may not be as big and well known.

I didn't sleep well last night and I'm tired. My appetite is also out of control right now, but I don't have anything in the house that sounds good.

  • @peachy0709 I am DREADING this. My 13 month old loves his paci so much that I don't have the heart to take it from him. He only has one now for naps and night time (unless he's sick) but I'm dreading the moment we take it away for good.

@cato99 Same, except I think my kid saw DST coming and preemptively gave up sleeping from Thursday night through the weekend.

@chillycanadian He has always been like this.  He had several brain aneurysms 4 years ago and has since been disabled and has short term memory loss.  He has always been an extremely self centered person though. That is not a product of his TBI.

@mkrel Unfortunately I am not willing or able to pay for a facility for him and he has no retirement and no savings.  He has worked under the table his entire life so he didn't have to pay child support to my mom so he has nothing but my husband and I.  My other sisters don't talk to him and he has 3 friends.  We just have to wait until insurance will cover it.  Until then, hes stuck here.  He cannot live on his own unless someone comes every day to make every meal and give him his medication and supervise him in the shower.   He has zero independence. He can't drive (hasnt had a license in almost 20 years due to several DUIs).  He can't do laundry, he can't go shopping, he can't do anything except scream at people and call the sheriff.   We are also in an extremely isolated area.  With only one care facility option and they already turned him down. He would have to move 1.5 hours away to live anywhere else.

  • @ash0625 - I would have been a lot more tolerant if it was just for naps and nighttime, but girlfriend was addicted.

@agpandme That sounds so stressful! I do not know what state you are in, but have you spoken to a hospital SW (like one of these times where he buys himself a trip to the ER) to see if he will qualify for Medicaid in your state?  With nothing to his name it sounds like he would.  The process can take a while, but if approved medicaid pays for custodial care where medicare and supplements will only cover the skilled needs.  I'm sure you have already been through all of the options, but I just wanted to throw that one out there.  Living in a remote area certainly makes things more challenging as well.  I'm sorry you have to deal with him though, that sounds so rough!
  • @WinchesterGirl that stinks!! I hope you don’t get it!!

@agpandme that is such a frustrating situation! I’m an EMT and we go for A LOT of well-being checks and I’d say that most of those people are totally fine.

I was woken up at 5am because my husband was being a man-child. He was getting ready for work and decided he needed my help to function. I never fell back to sleep and I’ve been dragging all day.
  • @mkrel His insurance is through the state.  I've looked at all the options and talked to many people that are familiar with his situation. So far, nothing has come of it.  Perhaps this will help the case.
  • @agpandme I am so sorry your dealing with this.
@cato99 ours slept ok but getting them to sleep was a hot mess. the twins wouldn't be quiet and DD2 screamed for 2 hours... uggg I hate DST

@peachy0709 @ash0625 DS#1 was hard core addicted, he would have one in his mouth, and carry 2 around, and just regularly switch which one he was using (maybe they have different flavors?). When I was expecting DS#2 (he was probably around 14 months) we switched him to only in the crib, and it was painful. Then at 2 and half we took that away too, within 2 weeks he figured out how to climb out of the crib...
DS#2 uses one but isn't as addicted, we plan to switch him to crib only, but are waiting for a week when we are home since our nanny doesn't listen when we tell her not to give him one. (She's great, but she spoils them so much.)
It is not easy, good luck!!

@cmessamore I hope you get to sleep early!  MH woke me up last night to tell me he needed to return something ::eye roll::
  • We didn't have one of these this week. But I felt like I needed to vent for a minute.

I just got results from my hematologist from testing in January. Apparently I have a genetic clotting issue. Not super concerned in general, but it could be a problem In  Pregnancy or for baby.
    So that's...a little stressful

Yesterday we started getting water in our basement.
We are selling in 2 months. So ..this massively sucks. Gonna make it super hard to sell.

On Tuesday I got an email that I because I'm off work on short term disability, my extended health coverage is suspended. Effective January. Which means all the physio and prescriptions I've claimed since then have to be repaid...

Oh. And my dog ran away this morning. (I did get her back. Thank goodness. Despite not being able/allowed to chase her.)
  • @chillycanadian I'm sorry about the hematology results. Do you have an OB appointment coming up soon so you can discuss any potential issues for you and the baby?
That is the worst about your insurance! Are they allowed to retroactively suspend it like that..? Hopefully they at least gave you notice back in January, not that that helps now.
  • @oklahomak thanks. My next OB appointment is April 2 .so almost 2 weeks away. which feels really far.
Ill have to talk to DH when he gets home from work to see if he thinks we should try to move it up.

I had no idea they would be suspending my Insurance. This week was the first I heard of it. It was never mentioned in all of the discussions about going off work for disability. (I also found out it gets suspended on mat leave. Which has never been mentioned before. )
It would have been nice to know before I had claims approved. Bah.
  • Is it against the law in Canada to do that without proper notification? It is in the US.

  • No idea.
You would think that since when it's reinstated, I have to work 30 days plus to the first of the next month (so if I started back on Sept 15 it would be reinstated Nov 1).
So you would think it would be at least that much grace period.
  • It’s so weird that your insurance would stop when you’re on short term disability since that is when you’d really need it. Is your time unpaid?

  • The short term disability is a..benefit I guess, that our employees pay into through the union (which I never knew, until I needed it haha). So they cover 60% of our base salary for 15 weeks (after using 2 weeks of sick time for the same illness/injury).
After that, you would have to go on long term disability, which is covered through EI. Which is like... 35% of base  salary or something.

However, EI won't cover pregnancy issues in the third trimester. Apparently they just start taking it out of your mat leave payments/allotment.
And there is a gap between short term ending and long term kicking in. So by the time it would kick in, I would be in third trimester, so won't qualify for long term either. So I'll have to be on an unpaid leave of absence from work. So I won't have insurance coverage for that time either.

Hopefully I will get cleared by the doc for light duties by the end of April when my short term time is up.
If I don't, I have no income until baby is born.

(Even then, if I get cleared at the end of April, my extended health benefits won't kick back in until June 1, and then out again once I start mat leave. Which really is not a big deal if I know about it. The issue is all the claims I made from Jan till last week that I now have to pay back.)
  • Yea totally re; the grace period. At least if they had told you before January, you would’ve made other arrangements. Sorry this is happening. I’m angry for you.

  • @chillycanadian That really sucks. I don’t understand reducing benefits when you are on disability/ maternity leave - that’s when you need it the most! In my experience I had to pay premiums directly when I was out on unpaid leave, but still had the option to continue. Do you each have your own insurance or can you get on DH’s got the duration?
  • Luckily I'll be covered by DHs. And would have claimed under him if I'd known that I was no longer covered.
I agree with you! They take away benefits when you need it the most! It doesn't make sense...
  • If you are under DHs you should be able to go back and still make those claims there! If it’s within the calander year there usually isn’t a time limit on making the claim as long as the paperwork is there
