Re: March Appointments Thread
Not till next Monday for me, but I'm so excited. It will be our first time seeing/hearing baby 😍 with my first I didn't feel him until the day after the a/s but this one I've been feeling for a while already, so that's comforting

My appointments have been at the end of the month and I always feel so behind on these threads, but this week I have my first MFM appt. Looking forward to seeing this little one again.
Anatomy scan will likely be in early April. I talked to my OB and she said I'll do my anatomy scan with MFM.

March 6th: OB with ultrasound.
March 11th: First MFM.
March 11 is my 16 week OB appt. I think they are doing a blood draw to check for spina bifida - I had a FTS so I already know my numbers for Trisomies 18 and 21, and I know they won't duplicate those tests.
March 26 is my anatomy scan!
Sono went well, baby's heart is looking a-ok right now, measuring just about perfectly, and moving up a strong - can't feel it yet though.
Mfm was basically just going over the sono results and telling me everything looked good.
OB was good. I actually thought I was scheduled to see his nurse today, so I was pleasantly surprised when they told me I'd be seeing my ob today. He did say my placenta was a little low, but that there is plenty of time for it to migrate up. But I can't say it doesn't make me nervous. I also told him about my headaches that won't go away so he prescribed something for that. Then went up to lab and got blood drawn to check thyroid levels as well has thyroid antibodies.
I was there for 2 freakin hours.
Next Sono is on Wednesday. And then I have some sort of appointment or sono every Tuesday from here on out for the remainder of the pregnancy.

I may have some repeat bloodwork at the 20 week to check my thyroid levels, which tested low at 8 weeks and are still low despite some improvement. So far my OB doesn't seem to think it's anything to be too concerned about, and she says the improvement is a good sign. Hoping the positive trend continues! I made the mistake of googling thyroid problems during pregnancy and was completely freaking out, until hubby reminded me that the doctor would have told me if it was an immediate concern or there was anything I needed to do or change. Then he banned me from googling pregnancy problems if the doctor doesn't say I need to be concerned. 😂

had my first MFM appt today and they considered it an “early anatomy scan” so the the actual ultrasound was a good 30 minutes. We got got to see her moving all around and the sonographer was great at explaining everything. The dr said everything looks good right now. They couldn’t get good clear shots of her heart and brain but said that’s completely normal this early on and they’d be able to at the real anatomy scan at 20 weeks. He said due to age & ivf, I’ll be coming in twice a week for NSTs starting at 37 weeks and they will have me deliver at 39 weeks. She’s measuring a few days ahead, is 6 oz, and in the 64th percentile for growth.
@law_and_little1 That’s disappointing. Hopefully you’ll know next appt!
My first MFM appt was yesterday. All looked well with the baby so far. There’s still a dysfunction with my placenta. That as well as a couple other factors have me at high risk for PTL. I didn’t get any guidance on what this means for monitoring other than they’ll start at 20w. I was so overwhelmed that I didn’t think to ask. The dr was v clear about risk of a few things, including my autoimmune meds. I left there feeling so defeated. I know that was his job. I felt on defense & judged rather than supported. MH will attend the next MFM appt with me for the AS.
Glad your scan today was good! Hopefully clear pics of the heart and brain soon

I am a cyclist and since been pregnant have been riding the spinner. The last two rides I have been experiencing a pulling pain from my pelvic area up to belly button. The doctor decided it was best to stop. I am totally fine with it, was feeling kind of like a fatty up there.
