  • @pizzaplz I just laughed out loud at your comment. For a full month after DD was born her name was Baby Girl *last name*.  We had to write this on her temporary birth certificate since we hadn't chosen a name. We finally named her on the day she turned 1 month old otherwise they would have automatically registered her as Baby Girl:/
  • @indulgentgypsy You look beautiful in your bump pics despite how you feel. I completely understand though. I feel like 10lbs of poop in a 5lb bag most days. Like someone just overstuffed me and I'm about to pop!
  • @keebler6elf My BFF has English/Irish heritage and her SO is Indian (grew up in South Africa). Their children are all gorgeous (they have 4) and all look completely different. They did North American first names and Indian middle (and last) names. My SIL is Korean and they did the same. North American first names and Korean middle names. All 3 of them look so different too. One is blond with blue eyes, one has brown hair and green eyes and one is dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. I love genetics:) I love Indian names and I'm so glad you're using an Indian first name:)
  • Est due date/ weeks + days: July 2nd 23 weeks

baby is the size of a grapefruit

    Team: Blue!

Upcoming appointments: nothing until March 25th when I go in for another growth/placenta function scan

How are you feeling? Sore! My hips and legs have started aching/cramping in the middle of the night and when I wake up in the morning I’m in a lot of pain. I started sleeping with my pregnancy pillow which has helped a little but I’m still just super uncomfortable.

Rants/Raves: slightly annoyed with some inconsistencies in my ultrasound reports. The report from the specialist I saw diagnosed valementous cord insertion (VCI) but when I spoke with him he was super unconcerned and said aside from monitoring growth not to worry, even though my research on VCI tells me I have a ton to worry about with regard to labour complications. But then my midwifes report says marginal cord insertion, which from my research is far less serious than VCI even though the conditions are similar so I’m not sure what to think. I have like 5 million questions for my next appointment so I’m just anxious to go in and ask for some clarification. I just wish things were the same from one report to the next so I knew what was going on.

Rave is baby is moving a ton which is amazing, he was going crazy at my last ultrasound and actually kicked himself in the head at one point. It’s amazing to watch and feel him jumping around.

    Questions: nope!

    GTKY: Names!

This LO will be Elliot James Samuel, I was on the fence about 2 middle names, I’ve never been crazy about the idea but he’s the first boy on my side in like 30 years so I want to have both my dad and papas names included. His name came to me in a dream, at like 10 weeks pregnant before we knew the sex I woke up and told my husband we were having a boy and his name was Elliot, it was just this 100% thing that I knew he was a boy in that moment. If he had been a girl it would have been Adelaide Michelle, middle name after my mom and Adelaide because it’s literally the only girls name my husband liked and since I got to choose the boys name I agreed he could choose the girls - I just knew in my heart he was a boy anyway so I didn’t mind lol

My daughters name is Charlotte Grace. I wanted to name her Charlie but my husband hates names that are “traditionally” boys for a girl so we compromised. Her middle name came from a dream my mom had, the morning of my wedding before we knew we were having a girl, my mom told me she had a dream the baby was a girl and we named her Grace so that kind of stuck in my head and we used it for the middle name. If she had been a boy her name would have been Noah James but oddly I didn’t even consider Noah for this baby, it just felt like it wasn’t his name even though it had been my previous favourite name.
  • @indulgentgypsy I absolutely love your bump pics every week, you always have the most fun dresses! I feel like this is definitely the self conscious stage where I feel big and gross but still not far enough along to warrant feeling big and gross lol so I definitely understand what you mean
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 4/ 22 weeks 4 days

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): BLUE
Upcoming Appointments: March 14th, monthly appt
How are you feeling?: finally over the stomach bug, still have moments of nausea and this acid reflux at night is killer

Questions: GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!

we haven’t decided on a name... I have a list
Bronson, Arlo, Knox, and Bodhi (middle name unknown too)
we didn’t find out the sex with our first 2 until
birth, (we have 2 girls Jocelyn Ann and Tenley Rey) the boy names we liked for them we no longer like, I don’t see this baby having a name before he’s born.

  • @indulgentgypsy Some days I feel meh about myself and others I feel better. I agree with everyone else, your bump pics and dresses are awesome!

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/4 22w5d Baby is the size of a(n): coconut
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): 💙 Upcoming Appointments: ultrasound and prenatal at the end of the month
How are you feeling?: tired and emotional Rants/Raves: I don’t want to wish time away especially bc I want to make the most of time with ds as the only kid, but I’m also so ready to know baby comes healthy and to go on maternity leave.
Questions: is anyone else really emotional? Is there anything that has helped you?
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
we’re thinking Nicolas for the first name... still undecided on the middle name.

Upcoming Appointments: match 26th for monthly OB visit and GD test then the 27th for a rhogam shot since I’m B- bloodtype

How are you feeling?: just got a positive result for flu yesterday so feeling absolutely horrible 😩

Rants/Raves:  rant: when I start feeling better with one thing (morning sickness, sciatica) something else pops up (flu)  just feel like I can’t catch a break during this pregnancy

    Questions: not right now

GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread,  but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!

My husband is the luckiest person ever when it comes to names! He nixed everything I suggested. But I think we have finally settled on Colton Michael. Colton because we liked it and Michael after my husband

  • @sarahtram2018 not the flu! I hope you feel better soon!
  • @jenniferjoy37 ugh thanks! So miserable! Luckily I had my flu shot so it’s a mild case and haven’t had a fever so hopefully it won’t last crazy long and not as bad as it can be!

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/1 23w1d

Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit

Team Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): blue

    Upcoming Appointments: 3/11

How are you feeling?: Ok @jenniferjoy37 hand numbness is starting during the day with me too! My hips are really bothering me at night regardless of what I do.

Rants/Raves: Rave! I had my SIL's baby shower on Saturday and once people saw me I guess they were like shoot Gemma's next let me get on that cause Sunday morning I had all these emails from my registries that gifts were purchased - 9 gifts without even an invitation or mention of where I registered! Good thing I started the registry early and had it done - feeling so loved and thankful!

Questions: Maternity leave - what do you ladies think is an appropriate time to start it if I'm due 7/1 - normally I'd say yes 100% I'll work up to my due date but I have an hour and a half commute via public transportation each way so I'm just a little nervous.

GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread,  but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week! Axel Thomas! We have had Axel set since before I was pregnant, probably before we were married if I'm being honest. And then Thomas for DH. We were only fighting if it was a girl, and even then the names are basically the same - he wanted Maxine I wanted Maxwell - either way our girl would have been Max.

@mama_bear19 omg yes! It's more so me crying over something silly I saw or read, but man it doesn't stop!

@indulgentgypsy where is everyone seeing all your wonderful dresses? What did I miss!

  • @gbud630 does your state offer leave before birth? If yes, I’d use it especially given your commute!

  • @mama_bear19 I have to double check but I believe I could do unpaid leave or start my ten weeks of paid leave early. Right now the plan is to give notice at the end of maternity leave come back do my thirty days of notice and be done with the place, but I still would like a full ten weeks with him before I go back even if it is temporary. Maybe doing unpaid for a week or two is the way to go.
    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • @gbud630 if there’s not extra leave for before I think it’s a tough call. I’m working until I have the baby, but I don’t have a commute like yours. I’d be stressed about that commute. Hopefully you come up with a plan you are comfortable with!
  • @gbud630 is it possible to work with your place to transition to working remotely? Obviously, I don't know what you do, but there are so many tools and resources to work remotely.
I broke my foot 2 years ago and worked from home so I didn't have to do my hour each way commute, and I just never went back, LOL.
  • @hakele I may have to ask about that, it's definitely possible I'm already set up to access everything from my home, however, the company has a very anti work from home stance so I'm not sure how well it would be received.
    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • @gbud630 Ah. I don't jive with "anti-work-from-home" stance. That's an "anti-trust" culture. Which I'm sure has weighed into your desire to leave after LO is here.
I honestly would have left my company 3 years ago if I couldn't work from home. Too many people moved to Denver and now it is just not worth the commute time. In the span of the 3 months that I was home with my broken foot and bronchitis, my commute went from an average of 35 minutes there to 50 minutes there. And now I'm lucky if I could pull it off in 1:15. I don't make enough money to sit in my car for 2:30 every day.
  • @gbud630 lol :) On the HDBD thread I often wear one of the retro swing dresses I bought off Wish. They are not maternity, but fit nicely over the bump and are one of the few things that make me feel pretty!
  • @hakele you are exactly right! This will be my third time quitting this place, third time really is the charm. I am so done!

@indulgentgypsy LOVE! I will have to stalk that out!

  • @pizzaplz I am reading Ina May’s guide... I’m finding it really helpful.

@Panaceia Thank you! During one of my more embarrassing ugly cry sessions, I was worried that we would pick a name my family wouldn’t be able to pronounce. DH was like, “As long as you - the mom - can pronounce it, everyone else will be fine.”
  • Hi friends, can I still sit with you?  January/February were crazy with work and we were on our babymoon last week and I just haven't had the time to be on here much!

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 6 / 22w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): Coconut

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Green

Upcoming Appointments: Standard checkup next Tuesday

How are you feeling?: Good!  Starting to get to the point of being more uncomfortable in bed at night but nothing terrible yet.

Rants/Raves:  Rants: I am still waiting for our current daycare to confirm we have a spot for #2 and I have not looked elsewhere so they only have one answer I will accept.  Raves:  I finally have time to start thinking about the nursery!

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: We have not decided but I have at least started a list?  We struggled with boy names so much last time.  If it's a girl, we will most likely still use the name we had picked for #1 if he had been a girl but boy names will be even more of a struggle this time!

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 3rd, 23 weeks today 😍😍😍

Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): blue

Upcoming Appointments: I have another scan to double check lo heart. It looked fine originally but they weren’t able to see one part so we’re going to try again.

How are you feeling?: mostly tired, but that’s because everyone’s been hit with the flu in our house and momma is exhausted.

     Rants/Raves: everyone’s sick 😩

     Questions: none this week

GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!

We have ave one of each picked out. For our boy we’ve decided fully on Théoden Alexander. We’re LOTR buffs and we love a strong name.

if on the off chance we have a little girl, we’ve decided on Willow Jude. Again, we’re Buffy buffs and Hey Jude is my favorite Beatles song.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 1; 23+2

Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit

Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): pink!

     Upcoming Appointments: None

How are you feeling?: Tired from swimming and some back pain every now and then, but otherwise, no issues

Rants/Raves: Still in transition.  Waiting on some last details for my new job to be nailed down and haven’t figured out housing yet, so lots going on.  It’s exciting, but I’m ready for things fall into place, make the move,  and get settled in our new location.

Questions: Anyone else behind the curve on weight gain?  I lost a bunch of weight between my 8 and 12 week appointments.  I weighed myself for the first time since the 12 week appointment at the gym this morning, and I’m up 5 lbs from then but still significantly under where I was at 8 weeks.  I haven’t had any appointments other than the AS since December, partly because of all of the changes in my life, but maybe it’s time to schedule one.  On the plus side, though, baby was measuring right on schedule at the AS

GTKY:  Names:  We made a list of about 10-15 possibilities relatively early on but haven’t focused on it since or made any progress from there. In general, I’m a fan of unisex and family names, so names like Avery, Rowan, Arden, Aubrey, Hadley, etc are on the list, likely paired with either a more classic feminine name or a family name as the middle name.  My mother jokingly suggested Cameron Virginia for my undergrad alma mater’s famous basketball arena and my grad alma mater (both big basketball schools), and I actually don’t think it’s horrible, but for some reason, my husband who went to a different school in the same conference doesn’t approve.
  • @hoodevil0611 I don’t know if I’m actually behind the curve, but I’ve been feeling insecure about my weight gain (7 lbs so far)—my belly seems so small and I worry that any gain is all going straight to my butt and not to the baby. But my doctor today said everything looked great and she was happy with all my vitals, so yay I guess. Going to try to let that reassure me and try to stop obsessing.

(Also, I think you’ve mentioned Houston before—are we going to be neighbors? I don’t mean to be nosy, but that would be fun. 😊)

@pizzaplz @hoodevil0611 I'm up 7lbs at the moment (probably more now...I haven't weighed myself in 2 weeks and with the nausea dying down I've been making up for all the weeks I couldn't eat...) but I was about 15 lbs heavier than normal when I got pregnant. So definitely NOT behind the curve this time...BUT I was way behind with my first and underweight to start with. I didn't gain until 3rd tri. It's nothing to worry about so long as you are getting enough liquids. Baby will always take what they need from you. In 3rd tri I went from a 0lb weight gain to putting on 10 lbs in 2 weeks. You'll get to where you need to be when your body is ready. My doctors just monitored my weight and let me know at a certain point in 3rd tri that if I didn't start gaining I would be hospitalized. I put on 26lbs in the last 10 weeks:) (all baby...I was back to pre preg weight a week after DD was born).
  • @pizzaplz, good to know I’m not the only one!  I’m from Houston originally but moving to Dallas
