Upcoming Appointments: another US next Monday.
How are you feeling?: Tired, always tired, but my heartburn is starting to be under control. Talked to my OB and they upped my Zantac to 2X a day.
Rants/Raves: Rant my taxes are all messed up and I'm STILL waiting for them to process. Damn gov't shut down. Planning on using that money to grab some baby stuff. Rave - Spring break is next week and I am planning on doing a lot of crocheting and NOTHING ELSE!
Questions: I feel more frump, ugly, and swamp haggy every day
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
So My husband's name is Jacques'-Anthony Claude, my step son is named after him. I am a huge SciFi fan and was watching Stargate SG1 - the season with Jonas Quinn - and I have an affinity for older and Irish sounding names. We decided to keep the initials JCC for all boys and use my initials JRC for all girls. So my oldest is Jonas Caleb. Pregnant with my 2nd and was watching Stargate again (nerd!
) and there was Daniel Jackson being all smart and cool so... Jackson Cael is my youngest son.
We had a few different girl names floating around, and I always wanted to use my great grandmother's name "Ruby". I had settled on Jillian Ruby (I love me some Practical Magic too) a few years ago, but...
I felt like that name died with one of my previous pregnancies.
So I was watching Eureka, and I LOVE the character Jo Lupo - badass and strong, 3 older brothers... so when we found out this one was a girl I showed my hubby my top 2 choices (naming is pretty much all up to me, he agrees or disagrees, I choose
) Number 1 choice was Josephina Rowan. Josephina for Jo Lupo, Rowan because it is an important magical tree in Celtic (Irish mainly) mythology, and a character in a series my mom and I loved was named Rowan.
I joked to my husband that if we have any more, I am out of SciFi shows to name children after... although I do have some names picked out in the wings just in case

Upcoming Appointments: None this week
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. More tired than I'd like. Acid reflux had picked back up. Letting my clothes accent my bump instead of downplaying it has lifted my mood.
Rants/Raves: DH is feeling disappointed in himself for not feeling up to more intamacy. I hope I'm making sure he knows it's OK and normal.
Also, loving the little movements... Can't wait for them to get a little stronger so DH knows he's feeling the LO.
Questions: we are trying to nail down our nursery design ideas. I am an interior designer, so I am really excited about this part. I'm trying not to go totally crazy and make sure DH is involved (he does have good taste). Where are you all with your plans and your registries, if that's something you are doing?
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
DH is from India, and I am an American with a total mixed European heritage. We are making a list of simple, easy to pronounce Indian first names. We have talked about pairing that with a family name from on my side for the middle name... Maybe even one of my grandmothers' maiden names (May or Kingsley), depending on gender and how the full name all sounds together.
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink
Upcoming Appointments: 3/8 - monthly checkup
How are you feeling?: Tired. Indigestion. Uncomfortable. Ugh.
Rants/Raves: I like feeling LO move and she's moving a lot these days. Asides from that I am already over being pregnant. Definitely not doing this again, lol.
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Ava Rose, my daughter brought us a piece of paper back in Novemeber that had her name, her brothers name and ava written on it. We asked her who’s Ava? She replied ”the baby”. My husband and I both really liked it and the middle name rose popped into my head right after I saw it. When we found out we were having another girl, we agreed we would just stick with Ava Rose.
Baby is the size of a(n): ear of corn
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): girl
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday
How are you feeling?: large, unwieldy. The extra pressure on my pelvis and bladder doesn’t help, either! Am worried that I am gaining both too much and not enough weight, lol. Glad for my monthly appointment this week to provide a reality check.
Rants/Raves: Just...MIL stuff. I get annoyed with her and then feel like a bitch bcs she’s mentally ill and can’t help how she is. It’s tough all around.
Questions: anyone have good baby books or resources you’d like to recommend? I’ve skimmed The Happiest Baby on the Block, just checked out Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth, and have Expecting Better on hold at the library. I don’t want to go overboard, but I would like to be informed!
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
We have about 15 names on our short list and plan to wait until we see her to make the final decision. We’re thinking to do his last name as her last name, either my last name or a family name from my side as her middle, then an unaffiliated name as her first.
And I’m a FTM, so no other kids to speak of, but the pets over whom I’ve had naming rights have all had really literal names (eg “Brownie,” “Blackie,” “Fluffy”); hopefully, I’ve grown out of that, otherwise I’ll be introducing you all to Tiny Baby [hislastname] in a few months...
Baby is the size of a(n): Yule Log
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Pink
Upcoming Appointments: GTT next week and OB on the 21st
How are you feeling?: Huge. Constantly full and nauseous. But good.
Rants/Raves: Just feeling full and uncomfortable. DD is starting to come around to the idea of a baby and is starting to get excited. Also I'm feeling more consistent movement and can even see and feel kicks from the outside.
Questions:
GTKY: We named DD after my late FIL who passed shortly before she was born. We used the female version of his name and my grandmother's name for her middle name...so she is Mila Ana. This LO will be named for SO's uncle and my other grandmother (a variation of her name) so this LO will be Nikola Ava. They have a very Eastern European last name so I think they work well. I never worry much what others think about the names we choose as we choose names that have meaning for us:)
Baby is the size of a(n): ear of corn or coconut
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): 💙
Upcoming Appointments: 3/21: repeat AS for heart and face shots
How are you feeling?: like poop. Literally. I am so constipated. I’ve forced myself to eat today, but got massive heartburn every time I did. I feel that if I puke, I may feel better.
Rants/Raves: rant: I’ve started to get numbness/tingling in my right hand during the day now, not just at night.
Rave: feeling little man move is awesome!
Questions: I’m taking colace 2x a day now, but I can’t be rushing to the toilet every time I get really backed up. Any other remedies? I’ve done mirilax (didn’t help), activia (didn’t help) fiber gummies (don’t help)... I’m at a loss now. So uncomfortable!
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
For my last pregnancy, I had names for both a boy and girl even before we knew. Ethan Gregory was our boy name, and Olivia Joy was our girl name. We had a girl first! I had always loved the sophistication of the name Olivia, and Joy is my middle name. Ethan is a name I’ve loved since before I was a teenager. I’ve never met an Ethan who’s been a bad guy. Gregory is DH’s middle name.
baby is the size of a grapefruit
Team: Blue!
Upcoming appointments: nothing until March 25th when I go in for another growth/placenta function scan
How are you feeling? Sore! My hips and legs have started aching/cramping in the middle of the night and when I wake up in the morning I’m in a lot of pain. I started sleeping with my pregnancy pillow which has helped a little but I’m still just super uncomfortable.
Rants/Raves: slightly annoyed with some inconsistencies in my ultrasound reports. The report from the specialist I saw diagnosed valementous cord insertion (VCI) but when I spoke with him he was super unconcerned and said aside from monitoring growth not to worry, even though my research on VCI tells me I have a ton to worry about with regard to labour complications. But then my midwifes report says marginal cord insertion, which from my research is far less serious than VCI even though the conditions are similar so I’m not sure what to think. I have like 5 million questions for my next appointment so I’m just anxious to go in and ask for some clarification. I just wish things were the same from one report to the next so I knew what was going on.
Rave is baby is moving a ton which is amazing, he was going crazy at my last ultrasound and actually kicked himself in the head at one point. It’s amazing to watch and feel him jumping around.
Questions: nope!
GTKY: Names!
This LO will be Elliot James Samuel, I was on the fence about 2 middle names, I’ve never been crazy about the idea but he’s the first boy on my side in like 30 years so I want to have both my dad and papas names included. His name came to me in a dream, at like 10 weeks pregnant before we knew the sex I woke up and told my husband we were having a boy and his name was Elliot, it was just this 100% thing that I knew he was a boy in that moment. If he had been a girl it would have been Adelaide Michelle, middle name after my mom and Adelaide because it’s literally the only girls name my husband liked and since I got to choose the boys name I agreed he could choose the girls - I just knew in my heart he was a boy anyway so I didn’t mind lol
My daughters name is Charlotte Grace. I wanted to name her Charlie but my husband hates names that are “traditionally” boys for a girl so we compromised. Her middle name came from a dream my mom had, the morning of my wedding before we knew we were having a girl, my mom told me she had a dream the baby was a girl and we named her Grace so that kind of stuck in my head and we used it for the middle name. If she had been a boy her name would have been Noah James but oddly I didn’t even consider Noah for this baby, it just felt like it wasn’t his name even though it had been my previous favourite name.

How are you feeling?: finally over the stomach bug, still have moments of nausea and this acid reflux at night is killer
Questions: GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
we haven’t decided on a name... I have a list
Bronson, Arlo, Knox, and Bodhi (middle name unknown too)
we didn’t find out the sex with our first 2 until
birth, (we have 2 girls Jocelyn Ann and Tenley Rey) the boy names we liked for them we no longer like, I don’t see this baby having a name before he’s born.
@indulgentgypsy Some days I feel meh about myself and others I feel better. I agree with everyone else, your bump pics and dresses are awesome!

How are you feeling?: tired and emotional Rants/Raves: I don’t want to wish time away especially bc I want to make the most of time with ds as the only kid, but I’m also so ready to know baby comes healthy and to go on maternity leave.
Questions: is anyone else really emotional? Is there anything that has helped you?
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!

How are you feeling?: just got a positive result for flu yesterday so feeling absolutely horrible 😩
Rants/Raves: rant: when I start feeling better with one thing (morning sickness, sciatica) something else pops up (flu) just feel like I can’t catch a break during this pregnancy
Questions: not right now
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
My husband is the luckiest person ever when it comes to names! He nixed everything I suggested. But I think we have finally settled on Colton Michael. Colton because we liked it and Michael after my husband
Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit

How are you feeling?: Ok @jenniferjoy37 hand numbness is starting during the day with me too! My hips are really bothering me at night regardless of what I do.
Rants/Raves: Rave! I had my SIL's baby shower on Saturday and once people saw me I guess they were like shoot Gemma's next let me get on that cause Sunday morning I had all these emails from my registries that gifts were purchased - 9 gifts without even an invitation or mention of where I registered! Good thing I started the registry early and had it done - feeling so loved and thankful!
Questions: Maternity leave - what do you ladies think is an appropriate time to start it if I'm due 7/1 - normally I'd say yes 100% I'll work up to my due date but I have an hour and a half commute via public transportation each way so I'm just a little nervous.
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week! Axel Thomas! We have had Axel set since before I was pregnant, probably before we were married if I'm being honest. And then Thomas for DH. We were only fighting if it was a girl, and even then the names are basically the same - he wanted Maxine I wanted Maxwell - either way our girl would have been Max.
@mama_bear19 omg yes! It's more so me crying over something silly I saw or read, but man it doesn't stop!
@indulgentgypsy where is everyone seeing all your wonderful dresses? What did I miss!
I broke my foot 2 years ago and worked from home so I didn't have to do my hour each way commute, and I just never went back, LOL.
I honestly would have left my company 3 years ago if I couldn't work from home. Too many people moved to Denver and now it is just not worth the commute time. In the span of the 3 months that I was home with my broken foot and bronchitis, my commute went from an average of 35 minutes there to 50 minutes there. And now I'm lucky if I could pull it off in 1:15. I don't make enough money to sit in my car for 2:30 every day.
@indulgentgypsy LOVE! I will have to stalk that out!
@Panaceia Thank you! During one of my more embarrassing ugly cry sessions, I was worried that we would pick a name my family wouldn’t be able to pronounce. DH was like, “As long as you - the mom - can pronounce it, everyone else will be fine.”
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: July 6 / 22w3d
Baby is the size of a(n): Coconut
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): Green
Upcoming Appointments: Standard checkup next Tuesday
How are you feeling?: Good! Starting to get to the point of being more uncomfortable in bed at night but nothing terrible yet.
Rants/Raves: Rants: I am still waiting for our current daycare to confirm we have a spot for #2 and I have not looked elsewhere so they only have one answer I will accept. Raves: I finally have time to start thinking about the nursery!
Questions: Nope
GTKY: We have not decided but I have at least started a list? We struggled with boy names so much last time. If it's a girl, we will most likely still use the name we had picked for #1 if he had been a girl but boy names will be even more of a struggle this time!
Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit
Team (Green, Blue, Pink, Finding out): blue
Upcoming Appointments: I have another scan to double check lo heart. It looked fine originally but they weren’t able to see one part so we’re going to try again.
How are you feeling?: mostly tired, but that’s because everyone’s been hit with the flu in our house and momma is exhausted.
Rants/Raves: everyone’s sick 😩
Questions: none this week
GTKY: I know we have a whole names thread, but let's talk names. Have you decided on a name for this LO yet? Tell me about name choices for previous children as well. All things names this week!
We have ave one of each picked out. For our boy we’ve decided fully on Théoden Alexander. We’re LOTR buffs and we love a strong name.
if on the off chance we have a little girl, we’ve decided on Willow Jude. Again, we’re Buffy buffs and Hey Jude is my favorite Beatles song.
Baby is the size of a(n): grapefruit

How are you feeling?: Tired from swimming and some back pain every now and then, but otherwise, no issues
Rants/Raves: Still in transition. Waiting on some last details for my new job to be nailed down and haven’t figured out housing yet, so lots going on. It’s exciting, but I’m ready for things fall into place, make the move, and get settled in our new location.
Questions: Anyone else behind the curve on weight gain? I lost a bunch of weight between my 8 and 12 week appointments. I weighed myself for the first time since the 12 week appointment at the gym this morning, and I’m up 5 lbs from then but still significantly under where I was at 8 weeks. I haven’t had any appointments other than the AS since December, partly because of all of the changes in my life, but maybe it’s time to schedule one. On the plus side, though, baby was measuring right on schedule at the AS
GTKY: Names: We made a list of about 10-15 possibilities relatively early on but haven’t focused on it since or made any progress from there. In general, I’m a fan of unisex and family names, so names like Avery, Rowan, Arden, Aubrey, Hadley, etc are on the list, likely paired with either a more classic feminine name or a family name as the middle name. My mother jokingly suggested Cameron Virginia for my undergrad alma mater’s famous basketball arena and my grad alma mater (both big basketball schools), and I actually don’t think it’s horrible, but for some reason, my husband who went to a different school in the same conference doesn’t approve.
(Also, I think you’ve mentioned Houston before—are we going to be neighbors? I don’t mean to be nosy, but that would be fun. 😊)
