Yes please:) I LOVE my Ergo. I had the original (used with infant insert) for DD from the start. She lived in it. I got the 360 also when she got a bit older. I now have a new Ergo Sport for this LO. It is mesh like (very breathable and cool since LO will be a summer baby) and doesn't need an infant insert so I can use it as is with no insert from day 1. DD even napped in hers as I went about my daily business. I'm hoping this LO likes it just as much!
Baby K'tan: A semi-structured stretchy wrap that is a little easier to get on that other woven wraps. It can be used from newborn stage. I loved this wrap and used it until age 6mos. It's especially great for going out to eat and just wearing baby while they sleep.
Beco Gemini: Structured carrier that is approved for babies approx 4mo+. It can be used both forward facing and inward facing, as well as back carry. It also supports healthy hip development. Doesn't require infant insert. I used this until about 1.5yo. It was great for traveling and I never carried DS around in a carseat.
When I upgraded:
Beco Soleil (discontinued): I moved to this around 1.5-2yo because it had a greater weight capacity and was more stable for carrying larger children. It could be worn facing inward, hip-carry or back-carry. They make others like this still. I still have it but am in the process of trying to track down the infant insert.
What I want next:
Unstructured Wrap: I like the look of Solly a little better than the K'tan and am considering getting one or just going with a non-stretchy unstructured wrap.
@mamanbebe I was considering the K'tan (I think I'll need a soft wrap for when the CS incision is healing). Does it sit high enough that the incision would likely be clear? Plus I like the idea of a soft wrap for the first month or two but need something semi structured that I don't need to do any wrapping for...something I can just put baby in and go.
@Panaceia I had a c-section, and like most incisions, mine was below the bikini line, so I started wearing it around 2-3 weeks without any issues. I may have worn it earlier, but I can't recall.
Here's a picture of me wearing it while sitting at around 2 mos postpartum. You can kinda see there is some amount of lap space, where my shorts are showing, that is not touched by the carrier. The piece of fabric that you tie across the baby's bum and around your back can help to position them higher too:
I also used a ktan carrier to start out and loved it! Didn’t want to use the structured carrier yet, but also could not tie a wrap to save my life so it was the perfect mix!
I jave an ergo and a lilli baby carrier that I used when he was older. I prefer the ergo, but do use the lilli baby more now to back carry
I love carriers! I don't use them as much as some of my friends do but I couldn't imagine not using them at all.
We've tried the mei tai (not a fan) then we had an ergo which was just okay but I felt like it wasn't very supportive. it may have been the type it was as it was a sporty type one (can't remember exactly) and there wasn't much padding to it or anything. Then with our second we used the solly wrap which was just amazing. I cannot wait to use it again. Then a tula which I absolutely love and will use again this time around.
Another k'tan lover. I used that for the first 2-3 months all day. Then we moved to the ergo 360 which I also liked and still use. I have a new lillebaby I haven't had the chance to use yet.

@mamanbebe@nolemomma14@ameliabedelia-2 Thank you for the feedback on the k'tan. I think I'm going to invest in one to use leading up to the Ergo. I'm glad to hear you all liked it!
I used an Ergo 360 and it did the job... I didn't have an infant insert, just rolled a blanket for under their butts to make them sit higher in the beginning. I'm sure all the baby wearers cringe hearing that! But I'm not a huge baby wearer, I do it in the beginning because it's easier to wrangle another kid, but I don't really enjoy wearing them very much.
I have a k'tan as well, it's okay... I used it a few times with each kid around the house.
I used a baby k’tan for my second when he was a newborn and it was a lifesaver at the time. My son refused to sleep much as a newborn and would be up for 8+ hours a time wearing him was the only thing that kept him from screaming during his awake phase.
When he got bigger, and I needed one I used the ergo so I could walk the dog and jot have to push a stroller . I was never really into baby stroller all the time.
I used a moby wrap for a little tiny bit in the very early days, then used the heck out of my ergo. I’m debating a Tula this time around. DD was a pretty big kid all along, so we were into a framed backpack carrier for hikes by about 7 or 8 months I want to say.
I use a Tula and an infantino mei tai and I love both. I could nurse rather easily in both and the Tula especially was super comfy to use for long periods of time and super quick and easy to get on and off. My boys loved being a backpack baby!

I used the k’tan And Ergo 360. However, I was personally not a fan of the k’tan even though I see lots of moms loved it! I live in a big city that isn’t stroller friendly so I baby wore constantly. With the k’tan, I was comfortable in it at home but not as much when running all around town. In retrospect, i may have needed a size smaller of the k’tan.
I went to a baby wearing class when DD was about 2 weeks old and they helped with how to position her in the Ergo 360 (and k’tan) when she was so little, how to feed in the carrier etc. Definitely recommend that if any of you are near midwives that offer classes! The midwife actually said next time to wait to buy the carrier until after doing the class to try out all of the different options there first as everyone’s body is different.
i used the ergo 360 until DD was 18-20 months. We then had a big back pack/hiking carrier we used until 2.5, mainly on vacations as I struggled to get her in it when alone!
I used a baby k'tan for the squish phase and then loved my lillebaby. I liked how it sits - I have some back issues and it didn't exacerbate them at all. Used it a ton - especially for travel. I had various wraps as well that I just couldn't get the hang of...baby never felt secure.
For my first I had (still have) the original Ergo and a Beluga Baby wrap (Canadian version of the Solly Wrap). I used both but used the Ergo more. The wrap I was always nervous I didn't tie right or baby wasn't supported as well. I ended up finding a great deal on an Ergo Omni 360 just last week so I upgraded! Will try to see my original one.
@motherofdogs oh yes the ring sling! It took me a good bit to get the hang of it but we did a ton of that from like 5-12 months maybe? I hope to try earlier with this baby.
I started out with a moby wrap and COULD NOT figure out how to do it. There was soooo much fabric and I couldn’t wrap my mind around that.
I ended up trying a Tula Ring Sling and fell in LOVE! It took a while to get the hang of threading the rings and everything, but my daughter loved it.
I wanted a bit more freedom with my hands so I got a WC Standard Tula carrier, and honest to God, it’s been the best thing. I had to use the infant insert until she was about 5-6 months old (15 lbs and had good head support) but she’s been to baseball games, mall outings, family gatherings. She nurses in the Tula. It’s been amazing. There are so many colors and designs for every mama, and that’s why I love it. They are so unique and incredibly comfortable. I ended up getting the Explore so she could face out, and she really enjoys that too. The only downfall for a Tula is that you can only face in, but ergonomically, that’s better for babies anyways.
Has anyone used Infantino carriers? I know @nopegoat mentioned one. They're showing up on my recommended registry items and are a lot cheaper than the other brands people have mentioned.
@hestia14 I have used the infantino mei tai with 3 of my 4 boys and I really do love it! Comfortable for long periods, easy to adjust, and it has held up great. With my 1st we used a more structured one (kind of like the Bjorn carrier) and I wasn't really impressed at all.

@firecracker_mama, I would skip the k'tan. Any of the wraps and ring slings would probably work. Also, the ergo 360 fits both me and my husband (who is about 75 lbs heavier than me). It's fully adjustable, and easy to use.

@firecracker_mama plus sized mama - I was a 22 after the birth of my now 9 year old. I used the moby and after a bit of a learning curve for tying it I loved it! I want another wrap type sling for this one.
Thank you everyone who responded! I'll take a look at those links and appreciate the information.(I wish I got notified of tags, I'm so bad at coming back and checking!)
@motherofdogs ring sling/ wildbird fan here, too! Especially for the squishy days!! I reallyyy want a modal for this new baby! I have a lillebaby and like it, but I just got a Happy Baby carrier and I LOOOOVE it. I haven't worn anything else since I've gotten it. It's super compact for the diaper bag and so easy/comfortable to wear! It is much less bulky than the lillebaby/other SSCs and looks a bit more modern/trendy if you like that look. Can't say enough good things about it!
I just opened my Ergo Sport and I am sooooo in love with it. It's for 0-48 months and no insert needed! It has all the things I love about the other models combined into one. Plus it's sort of mesh like so it's breathable and will be perfect for summer and winter. I can't wait to use it!
Okay. I missed this whole conversation the first time around... so I didn't think we had talked about it. My husband and I are very tall. 6'3" and 5'10" respectively. I also have some back issues, so definitely want something that would be comfortable and supportive. I love the look of the LilleBaby carrier. Does anyone have detailed experience with it?
Also, any suggestions for a place where I should go to look at these things to check them out and try out different things.
@hakele I’m on the shorter end at 5’2”, but we have a Lillebaby and love it! The support is really nice and doesn’t feel too bulky at all. I also have an ergo that i used with my boys, but DH prefers the Lillebaby to the ergo
@hakele not sure about where you’re from but locally here we have a fbook group called “Babywearing Support” and they get together monthly to demonstrate different kinds of wraps, carriers etc and you can loan them out to try. People post pics of ones for sale in the fbook page or new moms post pics asking for advice on the look of their baby in the carrier. It’s super helpful.
And btw I’m also just over 5’10 and hubs is 6’2’. We make talk babies! Lol
I had a Solly and DH had an Ergo Air. I have narrow shoulders, so carriers like the Ergo didn't rest as well on my back, etc, even with adjustments to the straps. I liked the Solly but over time it ended up being too complicated for me to use, and wasn't recommended for carrying any other way other than facing me. We have a lillebaby for as M got older, and I still like that quite a bit. M did not, hoping this kiddo will be okay with it.
I'm really looking for a good sling wrap this time around - they seem less complicated? Anyone have a good one they recommend?
@panaceia - Thank you for telling us about the Ergo Sport. I am SO excited to hear about this, because I loved my Ergo but hated dealing with the newborn insert and was concerned about it being too hot in the summer. This solves both my concerns!
To add my input: I had both the Moby and the Ergo. I preferred the Moby for the first three months. Tying it is a pain, but IMO the newborn insert is just as much of a pain. I preferred the Moby during this time, because I just felt closer to my baby and it just felt... more natural I guess?
After the first three months, I preferred the Ergo over the Moby. One time I went on a longer walk alone with our then 4 mo in the Moby and our dog. The Moby started unraveling when we were about a mile away from home. It was kinda a mess to deal with dog, baby, and Moby all at once. After that, I completely swapped to Ergo and used it until baby was about 9 months old.

Also. You don’t need the newborn insert. Roll up a swaddle blanket and position it under the baby’s bum like a seat. Works perfectly.
