The floor has paint all over it. When my husband was buying the house, the previous owner mentioned "Oak hardwood flooring underneath the berber carpet all throughout the house." About a year after he moved in, my husband and I took out all the carpet and found the floor horribly splattered with paint all throughout the house. :-( One of our future house projects is to sand and refinish the flooring. It always embarrasses me when we have guests over. I want to explain to everyone that we didn't do that.
@triskele I'm planning to work on mine during winter break... Sounds like it will be a similar, but colder situation. Hopefully snow doesn't ruin my plans.
How do you folks keep safe while painting? I'm about to embark on some painting for the nursery!
Buy a zero VOC paint, have fresh air and you will be perfectly fine. I am a painter, paint buildings and signs at the camp and conference center and painters through my first 2 trimesters with my first baby and here and there with this one. My DR said as long as we were using zero VOC paint and had fresh air circulation it was fine. And to paint outdoors when possible (which it was summer so I painted outside a lot) but it’s more about the buildup of chemicals than a one time project that’s short term. With paints at least.
@kbirchtree I haven't seen this mentioned but if you don't have an Etsy shop, you really should. You are incredible! The HP ones are definitely my fave, but that's because HP is amazing !
You have to certify children’s clothing in certain ways, and track each item and a few other special laws. So I sell to friends and family and only use safe fabrics that would be certifiable. Eventually I might get the technical stuff together and sell large scale.
@kbirchtree, those are awesome! And if i remember correctly, you cloth diaper, right? So the custom pants probably help a ton with the fluffy booty problem, haha. I love the rainbow stripe pants and the booties!
@kangstadt it’s the reason I started making them. It was frustrating all the cute clothes didn’t fit right. So I only registered for onsies and some sleepers and I’ll make pants to go with them. I’ll make a few plain grey and blue and red as well, but not until I see how baby is growing because I may need bigger sizes fast if he is like his big sister.
@kbirchtree those are seriously so adorable!!! Makes me wish I had had the patience to learn from my Grandma when she tried to teach me to sew years ago. Although she will for sure make LO pajamas as she does with all her grandkids and great-grandkids.

@kangstadt it’s knit. You can tell because of the little v shapes and the lack of holes. Typically unless it’s a lace, knit has tighter holes and little v’s or -‘s and crochet has more holes and shapes like a post or l
@kangstadt it’s helpful while shopping for things. They are a bit different in wear as well as how they unwravel if something goes wrong knit holes keep getting bigger and crochet tends to pull out one big long string.
I am knitting my almost 3-year-old a horse stuffy. I let him pick out the yarn and he chose a bright blue. First side is done, feeling less motivated for the second side as always

I fullfilled an an order for a friend and made my daughter a Easter/spring dres yesterday and today.
