Add me to the back pain and pelvic pain. Sleeping at night had become nearly impossible. The cervix peaking out has me freaked. Were sure that's normal!?
@professormama wait, you don’t have a microwave? MIL’s wall-installed microwave has been broken for a year+ and it drove me batty while we were living there. Like, how do I defrost a frozen bagel for breakfast when I can’t pull it apart to get into a toaster?
Also seconding that it sounds prolapse-y for @sister_c, but I’m not a doctor, just someone who would try to demonstrate in the office.
The pregsomnia has been really real this week. I’ll sleep a couple hours, wake up to pee, then be up for an hour maybe two. Currently I’ve been up since 3:30 (it’s almost 5:30 now) and I finally got up and packed my bag for a trip to my hometown for my baby shower this weekend. I’m about to just start getting ready for my day and plan to sleep in the car I guess.
@lyse01 we have a toaster oven so that’s how we do things like frozen bagels. Leftovers get reheated on the stovetop. We just haven’t missed it, so we haven’t replaced it. The rice sock is about the only thing I don’t know how to reheat without a microwave. I grew up without a decent microwave so I’m used to it anyway. The first time I ever made microwave popcorn it was while I was babysitting and I microwaved the popcorn in the plastic bag. In college I tried to microwave a baked potato and put it in for 30 minutes till it turned to charcoal. Lol
Your poor women who have been dealing with the pelvic pain this whole time. Ive finally joined that party this week. Little girl is having full on raves in my belly that send some crazy pain to my nether regions. Does this mean she is going to move out of my ribs soon?!
@professormama A rice sock is nice to have for sure (I keep one at work), but I'm definitely more of a heating pad fan. It stays hot, whereas the rice cools off after awhile. I am currently binge watching Game of Thrones (second time watching it but I need a refresher for the last season coming out in april) with my feet up and heating pad on my lower pack. Its pretty amazing.
@professormama and @lyse01, I remember one time we had to evacuate the dorms at like 2am when it was below freezing outside because somebody burned a piece of chicken or bacon or something. Why cook bacon at 2 in the morning?!
@kangstadt and @lyse01 I never set off the smoke alarm in my dorm because I didn’t have a microwave! In my first apartment, though? All the time! I actually do none of the cooking in our family. Im an extremely unreliable cook and I burn things all the time.
@rennie1108 that sounds amazing (minus GoT because I don’t watch anything scary). I really do need to get a heating pad.
@professormama@lyse01 It doesn't seem all that normal to me… But my OB was completely unfazed. She told me that moms with true uterine prolapse would have their cervix significantly hanging out of their vagina 24/7, but that would baby would still stay in utero no problem. I was really surprised when she said mine should go back to normal after delivery on its own. Here's hoping I guess?!
i feel like I’m reeling from symptom to symptom today: insomnia, shitty sleep, high libido, nesting, heartburn, out of breath, Braxton Hicks, pelvic pain, energy crash. I’m currently lying in bed hoping DH can handle dinner and bedtime without my involvement.
@lyse01, a constant dilemma I face when deciding to do things, haha. If it had just been me wanting cookies, it wouldn't have happened but since DH asked....
@thatbaintforbetty, I feel you. Pretty sure I got up like six times last night between not being able to breathe through my nose and needing to pee. I forgot newborn (lack of) sleep exhaustion starts during pregnancy....
@lyse01 Both me and my neighbor had to get inhalers for our pregancies. Mine is more of an asthma-like allergic reaction thing, but both my OB and primary care doc said it’s not uncommon. There are a lot of pregnancy-safe meds out there to manage it, and it’s important to get enough oxygen, so let your doc know that you’re having some coughing/wheezing!
I'm noticing my heart racing a bunch more lately and when I'm just sitting there. It happens a lot when I lie down to go to bed, all of the sudden my heart will be racing and I almost feel like I can't catch my breath! I had palpitations earlier in my pregnancy, I thought I'd be done with them by now!

@lyse01 I've had asthma since I was 6 (that's when it was diagnosed, my mom says it started around 2-3 years old). My immunologist says that 1/3 of women with asthma stay the same, 1/3 have worse symptoms and 1/3 have improved symptoms.
@lyse01 With my last pregnancy they gave me an air flow measure thingy (lol) that I was supposed to use once a day or anytime I felt I was having trouble. I never registered any issues but I also don’t know if the fact that I tend to carry so low that they never get to my ribs is a factor. I have always been told breathing outweighs the risk taking meds for asthma would present and to use my inhaler if I needed it.
My moms got worse during her pregnancies but mine never has. (She also has it a lot worse than me though and smokes)

@fuzzywombat I recently purchased "Earth Mama perineal balm" off of Amazon. Someone suggested it a while back on this board. Its been a god send for Hemorrhoids.
@lyse01 My sister's OB actually told her mint tea makes acid reflux worse. Im not 100% sure if this is true. If I eat a cup of ice cream before bed I don't wake up with heartburn, its also a nice excuse to eat ice cream If i don't have ice cream, I take Zantac 75.
How come no one warned me that this kid could kick my ass literally?! Lol. Last night instead of a lightning crotch episode, i guess i had one to my butt. I swear it brought back memories of falling out of a tree when i was young. I had to get out of bed and move around to get her out of whatever crazy position she was in.
@lin0442@thatbaintforbetty@mrstmoose thanks for the input. Maybe I should get an “air flow measure thingy” (technical term? ) or an inhaler, though in doing some experiments today it seemed that it fades pretty quickly or at least the urge to cough doesn’t last for more than 1 or 2 deep breaths. Will def discuss with OB.
@snowhite12 weird. Mint tea has always been a go-to for me to settle my stomach and it’s counterintuitive to me that it would behave differently for reflux. Though totally possible.
@lyse01 maybe play around with the mint Tea? I have found that mint makes my heart burn worse
@snowhite12 ha ha I am totally going to try your ice cream trick tonight. heartburn wakes me up around midnight and I have to sleep sitting up for a couple hours before it calms down. Relatedly, at my 34 week check up today I found out i've gained 35 pounds so far … So maybe I'll try half a cup of ice cream
Me too! Which is how much I total gained with DS so it's a little unnerving to be there at 32 weeks, but as long as the doctor is happy with weight gain and growth on the three of us I'm trying not to focus on the number.
+1 to the heartburn club. It sucks. I haven't tried meds yet but milk seems to help mine. I've only gained 20 pounds this pregnancy so far, so I'm not anticipating gaining too much more since I only have a little less than 5 weeks to go. It's weird how literally each pregnancy is different.
My pregnancy app tried to tell me that at this point (33 weeks) I probably won't get any bigger even though babe still has half a pound a week to go. This makes no sense to me, even though secretly I'm hoping it's true... if my abs separate any more, I'm gonna cry.
I finally had to go on meds for the reflux. I am on Protonix and it is a game changer! I was not only having indigestion but horrible stomach pain as well. Evidently the food was not moving out of my stomach quickly enough. I feel so much better now!
Yeah, I gained 18lbs by the middle of 2nd tri but now have slowly been losing weight thanks to GD (carbs are the only way I gain) so have only gained about 13lbs total. Kind of scary, but babe is measuring on track.
DW went out of town and I slept soooo good in the bed by myself. But now that she’s back it’s really hard to sleep. Anyone else kicking their SOs out of bed or changing up where they’re sleeping in general? I’d feel bad kicking DW out but yet really want as much sleep as I can get before this baby comes.
@sheepshepherdess I haven't kicked DH out yet, but I've suggested multiple times that he might sleep in the guest room. His snoring is terrible. Last night i told him to shut-up twice (not that he really heard it), nudged him twice, and finally woke him up and made him change positions. If I don't get to sleep soundly, neither should he.
@sheepshepherdess I haven't kicked DH out yet, but he will probably go willingly once the babe gets here and he goes back to work. He's such a light sleeper that there's no way he'll get any sleep while the LO is in our room. And until I go back to work, I'm totally fine with taking on the full responsibility of the night feedings. Once I do go back to work, though, it's halfsies!
@sheepshepherdess DH usually falls asleep on the couch so he only sleeps in bed with me maybe 2 out of the 7 nights a week. He came in bed last night after taking some NyQuil and was like ON TOP OF ME the whole night. I love him sleeping with me but boy was I annoyed last night.
My husband won't willingly give up the bed for the couch since he's 6'2", although when DS climbed into bed the other night, DH slept with his head at the foot of the bed just to avoid getting kicked constantly . Karma, dude...

My symptoms are pretty much the same, although DH was nice enough to point out yesterday that he thinks my feet are holding some fluid now. Yay.
Brain: oh it’s only 3:30 you can get at least another hour and a half of sleep after this
Baby: nonstop dance party/MMA rehearsal time!
so damn tired. 😴

Ugh... It started two days ago and now I have it every night.... so painful.
I'm ready to give birth now...
@MRDCle You may have gained 35 lbs as well, but you've got 2 in there!
