+1 to the congestion. Can't tell if my sore throat today is from tons of mucus drainage all night or catching something.
Also +1 to the random eye twitching. I'm gonna pin it down to stress, but it's really irritating!
I feel like a blimp today, not cute at all. I need to get my maternity photos set up with my sister before I lose all of my give-a-damns and live the next 9 weeks in sweats and hoodies...
(Which, I mean, is pretty much what I do anyway...)
Does anyone feel like their boobs haven’t grown at all yet? I just find it odd since this is my third pregnancy. I’m not complaining I just found it odd
@blueberrymomma mine have definitely perked up from the post-weaning deflation but they’re not huge yet. Mine didn’t get huge with DD until my milk came in.
I recall eye twitching with DD but not this pregnancy.
@blueberrymomma, second pregnancy for me, and my boobs went through a big growth spurt at the start, and now seem to have deflated a bit. I'm sure when milk comes in they'll be painful watermelons though .
@blueberrymomma@kangstadt I feel like mine grew quite a bit during 1st trimester and have gone back down to normal (pr close to normal). I was wondering if that was weird but it doesnt sound like I'm alone!
@blueberrymomma This is my 3rd pregnancy and mine have never grown with any of my previous pregnancies until after my milk comes in. I actually count it as a blessing, one less thing I have to worry about while pregnant lol
@fuzzywombat I’m using a combo of Everyone unscented lotion (morning) and C Booth body butter (evening/trouble spots). It seems to be doing the trick.
I’m really starting to feel like a flipped turtle and slightly out of breath if I end up on my back. Of course, this means that the second I’m on my back rolling over that the cat jumps on me and lays down. Every. Dang. Time.
@kristenhk I had a GD check in this morning and mentioned the itchiness to the nurse, she definitely wants to run the labs and said she’d talk to the doc and get it in the system ASAP.
So hopefully that’s not it but If so they want to get on top of it. I didn’t have it last time and don’t know if it’s something totally random or if your more likely to get it in subsequent pregnancies (like with GD). But I guess we’ll see.

@rennie1108 sounds like yours is likely carpel tunnel, that's often caused or exacerbated by pregnancy.
I've been having tons of congestion too, especially in my ears, they pop constantly. Apparently it is common for pregnancy to make you more congested. My doc told me to take zyrtec daily to help keep it under control. It's definitely not curing it, but it does make it less severe.
Btw, since the second trimester I've had what I thought were like.... scabs? on my nipples. Light brown crusty things on the tips. It was really freaking me out - I had those through breastfeeding with my first, but I thought they were literally scabs from breastfeeding. I'm not currently breastfeeding so I couldn't figure out what the hell they were and why I've been getting them. After some googling, it sounds like it's dried colostrum caking up on the nipple. Anyone else getting this? So weird.
@professormama I get something on my nipples too, but more in the nipple than just on the surface. I've had it almost the entire time since I stopped pumping (Nov. 2015 - so long ago!!!) but mine is really light in colour. I thought it was just extra skin cells that kind of plugged up the ducts? I've said it a hundred times, bodies are so weird - especially while pregnant. I've never brought it up because it's never bothered me or caused any issues.

@professormama I’ve gotten a variation of this, with clearish/whitish to tan buildup. It doesn’t get super hard or scablike though (more gunky? ew), but it’s become an additional daily cleaning step. My breasts have definitely become a bit leaky though, especially with any physical pressure. I’m a ftm though so I don’t know how this will change.
@professormama I’ve got random scabby dry skin looking kinda gunk stuff in my nipples. But I also have started leaking (I took off my bra a couple days ago and noticed spots on the inside right about where my nipples are) and chalked it up to that. I am going to order some of the thin bamboobies pads since it’s not much right now (and I can’t find the pads I had last time) and hope that helps.

I am breastfeeding colostrum so it’s not really an issue right now, BUT. My pre-pregnancy state (ie before DD) was like @lin0442 and @mermaidca, and I’d assume dried colostrum would create a crusty layer.
I can’t sit comfortably at all unless my feet are outstretched and my back is stretched out. I literally had to take up residence in my dad’s new recliner when he wasn’t sitting in it today to get even remotely comfortable. I just feel like this kid doesn’t have anywhere to grow and we still have 9 weeks left.
Pooping hurts... Or rather, trying to poop hurts HALP!
I seriously thought some gas pain/movement in my bowels was a contraction yesterday... Let me just say that I am a huge wimp and there may be an epidural in my future!
Is anyone experiencing worse swelling on one side of the body than the other? I forgot to ask my ob on Friday, but I've noticed my left hand/wrist and foot/ankle is noticeably more swollen than the right. It's not a huge difference, but I'm feeling concerned.
@mighty_montgomery I dont have much swelling but it is def lopsided with my left ankle being more swollen than my right. I hadn't though to worry since it's all pretty minor swelling for me but wouldn't hurt to mention it!
@kayceebaby1 I’m trying to eat a handful of prunes every day to keep the pipes moving! Iron supplements make everything really big and slow and solid so I feel like I’m getting birth practice if I don’t balance it with extra fibre. Luckily, I love prunes because they are sweet and delicious!
The exhaustion is getting ridiculous. I feel like I'm barely functional. I don't get it. With my last pregnancy, I was still going on hikes and stuff at 30 weeks. I don't know if it's because I've been less active throughout this time, and by now it's building up; or if it's that now I'm working full time with a 4 year old running around and that's just exhausting. But damn. I took a nap both saturday and sunday, and last night I went to bed at 10pm and got up at 8am. I feel like I should be fine, but nope. I can't barely keep my eyes open at my computer.
@professormama empathy floating your way from over here. Yesterday, I had to excuse myself from the dinner table (DH had three uncles in town plus MIL/FIL) and go lounge for an hour while DH and MIL wrangled my napless child because I was that exhausted and uncomfortable. I think having the other kid definitely contributes to exhaustion - DD kicked me in the face overnight - and to us not working on building up our stamina, but increased age, forgetting how bad it was last time, and whatever other stressors we have can’t be discounted.
@professormama, never underestimate how mentally exhausting caring for a toddler is. My son mentally exhausts me every day just because he's ON 100% of the time, constantly talking or constantly needing attention. I feel exhausted and like a shit mom, but there's only so much interaction I can handle in a day.
I felt super woozy this morning and almost passed out trying to make icing on the stovetop. Not sure if it was lack of real protein breakfast, the need to poop, overheated, or blood pressure drop, but it was not fun.
@lyse01 good point re increased age and just forgetting how it was last time. That's probably totally true. Sorry you're just as exhausted though. Plus dinners with extended family can be rough even when you're not pregnant. @kangstadt yessss. How do small children stay ON so much of the time? It's ridiculous! I'm sorry you're feeling woozy, that sounds awful. I really hope you feel better for the rest of the day and don't have any more incidents like that.
@lyse01@kangstadt and @professormama DS went to bed late each night this weekend, along with zero naps and last night was sprinting around at 9:15 yelling about how hungry he was (after a HUGE dinner and a snack). They're truly little marvels. When my OB asked me what my energy level was like this morning I almost laughed in his face.
@MRDCle, I feel like a train wreck every day, haha. I only hope I don't look quite as exhausted as I feel. My son tries that also, saying he's hungry when it's 9:30 at night and I swear he's just stalling... but maybe it's a growth spurt, who knows.
@professormama, thanks, me too. And if anyone could figure out how to bottle a 4 year old's energy levels, we'd be millionaires....
+1 for the troubles of toddler parenting while pregnant. The motion is an issue for sure, but I think I'm dying just as much from the constant intense interpersonal interactions. I mean, last time, I got to *BE* the whiny one who just wanted to shove off anything productive and watch TV and eat snacks all the time and cry if I wasn't having the exact day I wanted...
Ditto to everyone else about pregnancy and toddlers. DH went out with a friend last night and I did bedtime by myself. We sat down to watch a movie and I ended up being woken up by DD cause it ended (I thankfully was only out about 15 min) and she was telling me she was hungry (seriously what is with the bedtime snack attack) and that it was bedtime. Total mom fail.

+1 to feeling like a shit mom and exhausted all of the time. DD wants us to play with her all the time and has to be in the same room as us constantly (even though we have an open concept area). My patience is low and I physically can't sit on the floor and play with her for hours (1 - pain and 2 - there are household chores that also have to get done). I'm trying to work with her on playing independently, even if it is for 15-20 min but MH is so quick to stop everything and play with her that it doesn't always work when he's home.
@MRDCle I mean, at least DD has gone to bed early, but so have I because apparently 8:30 is my new bedtime.
@professormama the only thing exhausting about this meal was the sheer volume of food and my eyes being bigger than my pregnancy stomach great company and great conversation so I actually tried to be part of it from the couch.

The sciatica I thought had randomly went away after talking to my mid-wife on Tuesday came back with a vengeance this morning.
Also I am so hungry all the time!!
