Hello everyone! I'm 23 and my husband will be 25 next month. We've been trying for about 2 and half years now and just started with an RE in October. My husband's SA came back normal, not sure of any exact numbers. My blood tests were all fine, except slightly higher androgens. So they have mentioned that I might have PCOS, but decided to go with unexplained infertility. I have super irregular periods and do not ovulate. At the beginning of this month I was taking letrozole 7.5mg and when I went in for my mid cycle scan, I had a 5cm cyst. So my January iui, which would have been #1, was canceled. I have to wait for the start of my next cycle to get an ultrasound and make sure the cyst has gone away before I can try to do my first iui. So I hope to join the February iui board with everyone else! Baby dust to everyone!!

For OPK, did you test twice a day starting with SMU? If not, it’s best to. A lot of ladies don’t have a detected surge with FMU and if you’re one of the ones that has a 12 hour surge, testing once a day will mean you’ll miss it. You’ll be testing 24 hours later and not know that your surge already happened.
What day of your cycle did they check your hormone levels and which did they check?

I know that I have gotten positive OPKs in the past.. This month I've tested multiple times a day and it was never positive, not sure if the letrozole has that effect or not?
They checked my levels on cycle day 43.. that cycle lasted 74 days and that was only because I was put on provera to start it. I have no idea what hormones they checked, they took 17 vials of blood.
Having irregular cycles or having PCOS does not necessarily = IF, however, it does make active TTC completely difficult and unpredictable. I hope that you'll be able to find a way to get a second opinion soon. It's so hard to navigate various health/insurance systems, but you'll be glad that you did once you get in to see a 2nd opinion specialist. It might even be worth paying a couple hundred dollars to consult with someone outside of the Navy who has great reviews and spends the time going over your health history to tell you what he/she thinks. I wish you guys the best.
