@themadcamel Ah, shit. I remember that! Poor sweet marebear got a warning!! Well, I guess I’m glad she wasn’t the CM girl. (Were you in TTGP for that??? It was DISGUSTING!!!)
@lillywonderland@themadcamel what is it about those horrific CM posts? You know it's going to haunt your nightmares if you click it, but the urge to read the sh*tshow story that goes along with it is just too strong. No idea what would possess someone to think the entire internet wants to see what came out of their lady bits.
@lillywonderland EL OH EL omg i remember that. that might have been what spurned my aversion to drive-by posts? I really just rarely ever read them bc I think they're rude/who has time for that. But then at the same time I feel like I'm doing the community a disservice by not reading/jumping in to let ppl know that's not how we do things. As MH said earlier to me, though, regarding a different situation, "You hate conflict." Truth.
@kagesstarshroom@lillywonderland@RedBreast35 oh my god what?! Please tell me that someone didn't post pictures of her CM... ewwwww!!! Hadn't she ever heard of the Beautiful Cervix Project? They have a TON of cm pictures.
@themadcamel It wasn’t just one. It was MULTIPLE. And TTGP has the beautiful cervix linked in the newbie guide. Obvi she didn’t lurk a lick. Also, you bet your ass I reported that shit because it was SO F*CKING GROSS. I wanted the admin to shut it down so fast.
@kagesstarshroom to be fair, I don't think any house was made for below zero either. We had a cooler than normal September this year, I think it got to like the 40's or 50's? Anyways, I turned on the heat... That was too cold for September! The realfeel isn't as cold as it was suppose to be here, but the strong wind isn't showing its face! Our house has surprisingly made it through this arctic blast, but ours friends had a pipe blow between their house shut off and the cities shut off in the middle of the night!
Well I'm waiting to have part of my toenail removed. I've never had to have that done. So of course it happened now . They are using 2% lido, no epi. My Crunchy doc and my crunchy OB both said it was totally fine anytime (I'm 8.5 weeks). I'm guessing the stress around me worrying over this is worse.
Y'all. I mentioned my neighbor who was singing very loudly and slamming doors at 4am yesterday. What I didn't mention is how he is legitimately an alcoholic (like lives completely alone but constantly has 3-4 empty alcohol handles in his trash/sitting around his door, and he always has his door cracked open and there's a HORRID smell always coming out, like I gag every time I leave and his door faces ours. Well the complex made him leave last night. He ended up sleeping in his car (because I saw him in it when I left for work this morning) and it makes me sad but at the same time I'm so relieved that already the smell was better today. I feel like an asshole but wish him the best and feel relieved for the smell and weird chanting/yelling/singing to be gone.
Wow @klpv415 agreed, those circumstances are pretty sad and it's obvious he has a problem... but I can't say I blame you for being relieved. Especially because of the smell
I legit cant focus on anything in the afternoon these days. HELP! Anyone have tips? I am now remembering this from my last pregnancy, but ugh it makes work hard.
@nda_roxybabe not really any advice but OMG between 1-4 I am so useless too! I legit stared blankly out of the window for like 20 min straight this afternoon. Maybe music or some fruit (sugar) to help perk you up? A quick walk outside?
@nda_roxybabe I’m having trouble focusing too, but it’s more like I don’t have room in my brain to think/worry about anything besides being KU. I try to put it out of my mind and take some deep breaths.
@nda_roxybabe When I feel super warped, if I'm at home, I try to do some yoga. Forcing myself to focus on one thing (my body) sometimes helps me get focused on whatever I need to do. But-- I feeeeeeel you. I've been really struggling with this, too.
I am finally headed home after a crazy busy work week. I feel like I've missed so much over here! I've missed you all!
I feel like I hit the preggo jackpot today. I had a two-hour drive and stopped at Dell Taco before I hit the road. Well, start driving for a bit and reach into the motherload. They totally gave me the wrong bag, but it was filled with alllll the good stuff. Churros, burriots, tacos... It legit made me the happiest person ever. I do feel bad for whoever got my lame bean and cheese burrito though.
DH and I wanted to watch a fantasy kind of movie but didn’t feel like getting into a LOTR rewatch, so we settled on Harry Potter GoF. We got 10 minutes into the movie before DH turned it off due to me bitching about all the changes and how rushed it felt. I always think I want to watch the movies, but then they make me so mad! To be fair, it was probably extremely annoying. We’re now arguing over what to watch on Netflix instead 🤦🏻♀️.
@kgg2241 It's a Del Taco miracle! Praise St. Frankine Bergstein, patron saint of Del Taco! (which might only make sense if you've ever watched the excellent Grace & Frankie on Netflix lol)
I was born & raised on Punxsutawney Phil--but I just discovered that down here in good ol' Louisiana, we will celebrate, tomorrow on 2/2, CAJUN GROUNDHOG DAY, w/ not a groundhog but a nutria (a very large rat-looking rodent native to the area) named PIERRE C. SHADEAUX (last name pronounced "shadow"...) He will let us know whether the spring weather will be long or short before the summer heat. I can't make this up.
@kagesstarshroom we ended up rewatching (for the millionth time lol) the last few episodes of The Office. I cried a dozen times, of course. ETA: Pierre C. Shadeaux?? Omg I love him!! So cute!

Also, yes, our local zoo is called Zoosiana...
