@AKuzReve - I'm with you on no reality, but House Hunters. I just like to know what kind of people get so put out by a faucet in a $1MM house. Like, dude, you CLEARLY have the $70 to switch it out. It's a Love/Hate relationship, for sure.

@moon1417 I thought the same thing when I saw their insta announcement. The Bachelor/Bachelorette/Bachelor In Paradise franchise is one of my guilty pleasures. I make DH watch with me.
@MamaK225 Go to the thread and click the star to turn it from yellow to white. Unless you started the thread, then I think you're stuck with the notifications.
@Akuzreve I don’t know if I’ve ever logged in on a computer either. If I have, it was quite a few pregnancies ago.
+1 for no reality TV. It’s just not my thing.
Random for the day: we have used family names for all of our babies’ middle names. My mom just casually slid into conversation the other day that we haven’t used her name at all. First off, my mom and I do not have a great relationship. Second, I don’t like her name. It’s Dawn Marie. Ugh. I really don’t want to use it, but I also feel guilty for not. I may need to find a variation to use. Ugh.
Not sure if this is a rant, or an ask for advice, it's quite lengthy, so feel free to skip. My 12 week ultrasound is 2/7, and if all looks good we're going to tell family and friends over the weekend, and then I'll let work know on Monday. So I do have almost 2 weeks to figure this out. So my workplace structure is a little strange, and I'm having a hard time deciding how to tell. There is the partner in charge of the department, who oversees big picture, and then there's the director of the department who oversees day to day, and then there are 3 managers who over see specific jobs, plus the director often works as a manger. So basically at any given time depending on what jobs I'm on, there could be 4 different people I'm reporting to on a regular basis. In addition to that there is one other person on my level and half a dozen below me who could potentially be reporting to me at any time. To complicate matter everyone but one of the people under me work in a different state. TL:DR I have 5 people who are considered "my boss" and they all work in a different state. The past two pregnancies I traveled up and told everyone in person, but that's not going to work this time. I am seriously considering calling my partner and director and telling just them directly. When ever we have vacation we have to send out a meeting invite so it shows up on everyone's calendar. So for everyone else, I would just send out a meeting invite for the week that contains my due date, and have it say "MK tentative start - maternity leave." I know some of my coworkers will be insulted, but I really don't feel like calling them all up and if I start picking and choosing who I call, that will also cause people to be insulted.
@MamaK225 if you started a thread and don't want the notifications you can turn them off in your settings. I did that a while back.
@mrosek91 I would tell as many of your "bosses" as possible either by phone or in person. The rest of the team can find out when they find out. It is almost impossible to think someone can tell each person she works with of her pregnancy. (it sounds like you have a lot of coworkers/managers)
@cmessamore What about a name that means dawn, like Aurora? (I can't think of any others of the top of my head.) @cmessamore - I think the suggestion above is nice IF that's what you want to do; like you said, with a strained relationship I wouldn't feel any obligation ... and your daughter might be confused about it later on, when/if she finds out she has a namesake. My dad did kind of his own thing with my brothers (obviously with my stepmother's consent) and they all have the same initials ... that could be an alternative, as well, especially if you don't really like the original name.
We did something similar with DD, DH's middle name and his (favorite) grandfather's name were both Lee. We feminized it and her middle name is Leigh. I think if we do have a boy, I may take my sister's name (Kelly) and add an E to make it fit in better as a boy's middle name (Kelley). I think it's fun to take a name like that and make it yours, while still honoring the homage.

Not sure which category this goes in, so here it is... I have a dreadful cough, like can't talk, can't sleep dreadful. After almost a week of no sleep I decided that maybe I should get it looked at. (I'm the type who likes to pretend every illness will go away if you ignore it.) So I finally broke down and called the doctor, and she doesn't have an opening until tomorrow afternoon!
@mamak225 I have found that benadryl gives me crazy dreams. I have been taking unisom this pregnancy, and it hasn't been an issue. Maybe it is coincidence, but might be worth a try!
@AKuzReve and @mrosek91 I am also sick. It started as a cold and has now moved to my chest. I just gave in and went to the doctor yesterday. My doctor thinks it’s viral so he didn’t give me any antibiotics, but he gave me an inhaler which is definitely helping with the breathing.
Thanks for the name suggestions guys, I think what we’ll do is use her middle name as our daughter’s second middle name. (We did this with our other daughter too-she has two middle names). That way it’s used and my mother is happy, but its not used frequently so I don’t have to think about it much.
I like watching the bachelor because it’s sooo ridiculous. Bachelor in paradise is my favorite haha I also listen to a podcast that basically just makes fun of the show. Colton is terrible, he’s a robot who just recites bachelor cliches. Guilty pleasure for sure.
i just finished the first season of the marvelous mrs. maisel and that is quality entertainment. Highly recommend!
Crazy week for me.. Left the car door open (not just unlocked but wide open) while going to the store. Honestly thought I was being robbed when I came back. Got the NT results back and my PAPP-A results are too low. So freaking out about it ever since. Plus my MIL is visiting. Into the second tri and I am still puking. Really grateful its finally Friday.

@Beauxbaton it goes by way too fast...

Thanks for the name suggestions guys, I think what we’ll do is use her middle name as our daughter’s second middle name. (We did this with our other daughter too-she has two middle names). That way it’s used and my mother is happy, but its not used frequently so I don’t have to think about it much.
i just finished the first season of the marvelous mrs. maisel and that is quality entertainment. Highly recommend!
