@cmdesigner Nope can't do it. I'm in central FL and I was raising hell this morning because it was in the 50s lol. I would just hibernate all winter if I was dealing with negative temps!
@klpv415 I generally consider myself a hearty New Yorker but right now I have no desire to leave my couch. It's SO windy out and absolutely frigid. I own a carcicle. I should go out and chisel it from the confines of its icey shield but honestly the idea of me going outside in this weather is just so unappealing.
@zuuls_mom - That's like the difference between "stay calm, this is normal" and "oh crap, go buy the grocery store out of bread and milk." Crazy weathermen.
@klpv415 Yah, it's 57 in Louisiana right now and at least one heater is still on from when it was in the (high) 40s this morning. You'd never know DH & I lived in the NE our whole lives before moving down here... Though it WAS cold this weekend, in the 30s!
So jealous! I want snow soooo bad. I live in Oregon and usually we have one mild snow event, but absolutely NOTHING this year. Every 3 years or so we get a really big snow storm though, so I'm hoping that it was just holding out this year and will add even more snow next year. Haha. Wishful thinking.
We are thinking of scraping the ceilings in our bedrooms. Our house was built in the 60's though, so there's a risk of asbestos. Has anyone gone about doing this themselves in their house? How do you go about testing for asbestos? Is it way more of a pain the scrap the ceilings than we are anticipating? Is it worth the price of a professional?
Maybe our storm is headed toward you all! The snow is crazy here today. Luckily most people had to off and didn't have to commute to work. We actually had an avalanche warning on the foothills behind our house and one of the major canyons just closed until 8:00 am tomorrow because of an avalanche. So anyone up at the two resorts skiing won't be able to leave until tomorrow morning now.
@lillywonderland haha agreed! That doesn't sound too bad. Plus I bet the real die-hard people will be able to get a couple runs in before heading back down for work in the AM.
I have a huge work trip coming up the first week of Feb. and I just realized I have nothing nice to wear! My best friend has been borrowing my blazers and I don't know if I will be able to see her before then to get them back. Should I ask her to mail them to me? haha

@zuuls_mom Yeah, I'd ask her to mail them too or make a quick trip to drop them off. And yes, it's pretty slow around here. Even the "fun" threads don't seem to drum up much activity. I've felt like hot garbage juice recently, but I'll try to do better!
We were supposed to get some kind of crazy ice storm last night, but it ended up just raining. Gross. We've only had like one good snow this winter.
@supermom34482@sunshine2417 can't wait to see those ultrasounds! FX that there's a healthy, sticky bean in there
I'm going crazy with Dr. Google today. My final evaluation/rating is coming up next week, and there's so much that I need to do; but all I want to do is be on TB and the Mayo Clinic website.
@RedBreast35@zuuls_mom I wonder if there's anything we can do to drum up more community? I've been thinking about it a lot (lame, I know, but I want this to be a super active board!) and don't really have any ideas. A lot of the actions seems to be happening in the PGAL weekly, and the group threads don't seem too busy. I wonder if we could combine the groups into 1+2 and 3+4.
I'm honestly not sure what will help. I was hoping GTKY threads would get people talking or people would like to chat about random daily tidbits like I do, but perhaps everyone is just waiting to get a little more comfortable. I know some groups just have a slow start, but hopefully this one will be bumpin' (pun intended) soon!

Anyone else not doing an ultrasound until like 22 weeks? It seems so far away!!! Looking for someone to wait it out with Our choice to wait this time so not because of my midwife or anything.
@janat1717 no way in helllllll I would be able to wait that long! I need to know if things are progressing, there's a HB, etc. May I ask why you are opting out?

I’m dealing with a bunch of crap at work for being pregnant and (without getting into too much detail), it’s stressful AF. I have a meeting today and then I need a bit of clarification on a doctor’s note so hopefully by the end of the week I’ll be okay and everything will be settled and I can go back to being blissfully pregnant. Lol.
@lillywonderland it's the lab stuff, correct? I am so sorry you're dealing with work stress! That is definitely not what you need right now! I hope everything can get settled soon and you can relax.

@lillywonderland that's some horseshit that work is already giving you pregnancy fallout, especially this early. I hope it gets better soon (and also that you can figure out how to share that "blissful" part of first tri ) @zuuls_mom@themadcamel I know I'm guilty of not wanting to participate too much until I'm past some milestones, but hopefully some more of the gtky and fun stuff will help bring people out! We're fun, we swear!! (old lady gif for you @rms924. I'm 38 and us geriatrics gotta stick together!)
@zuuls_mom We just don't really have a reason this time. I did one with DS because my cycles had gotten super wacky right before, and I was paranoid of dating if I hit 42 weeks. Should be able to hear heartbeat with doppler at 12 week appt. We switch to a fetoscope after that at 17 weeks.
@janat1717 gotcha. I would be way too paranoid about something going wrong to wait that long.
GUYS. The craziest thing just happened at my office building. So, I work downtown in one of the high rises and we're on the 28th floor. Across the street from us is a Four Seasons Hotel and the window washers were out washing windows there. It's pretty windy so I was surprised to see them out there today. Something happened to the ropes (either they somehow got loose or the wind yanked the cage thing too hard) and it started SPINNING and SLAMMING against the building and shattered one of the windows! The poor guys on it were getting flung around and kept hitting the building too and luckily were able to escape it by climbing into the building through the shattered window. The fire dept is there now trying to secure the cage so it doesn't fall or slam into the building anymore. It's just so nuts! One of the guys was pretty bloodied up, but looked to be doing okay. Man, I just can't even imagine being in their shoes at that moment! Everyone's productivity is just tanked for today since we are all fascinated and keep staring out the windows watching them try to fix this mess.

From what I know, the guys are ok! One got taken away in an ambulance, but the other got checked out and hung around by the fire dept. The cage is now tucked on a giant balcony and I bet the people who live there are going to have fun re-arranging their patio furniture. They tetris'ed the hell out of it to make room lol.

I just felt really bad “loving” that post @zuuls_mom. That said, what kind of boss let’s his people out to wash windows on a windy day ?! You’d think there’d be some safety protocols or something
Just got home from u/s, theres a baby with a good heartbeat but I'm measuring a week behind and dr said I have something weird looking. Like an area of uterus is not smooth. I go back next week to see more detailed scan. I'm completely freaking out, when I measured behind last time I lost that baby. I just want to cry. Dr could see me freaking out and assured me everything looks good but it's hard to believe it when I've heard that before and it still ended badly. Sorry to be such a downer, I don't know how I'm going to get thru the next week.
@janat1717 wow you have awesome restraint! I couldn't even keep myself from POAS 6 DPO, let alone waiting for an u/s that long. @zuuls_mom what a crazy thing to witness! I feel so sorry for those people. I've heard window washers make really good money, but all the money in the world wouldn't convince me to risk my life like that. Yikes! @RedBreast35 I hear ya on waiting for some more milestones to pass. I'm side-eyeing myself about being so involved already, but I get too excited about things. Really hoping I don't get burned in the worst way.
@supermom34482 gave you a love-it as an internet hug . I am so sorry to hear that things weren't looking perfect today. Thinking about you and sending all the positive thoughts that next week's scan will bring clarity and reassurance that everything is ok.
