@supermom34482 I second @themadcamel all the good vibes for a great scan next week. Also (I hope this helps- if not, feel free to ignore) there’s a lot of measurement error and if you’re off with ovulation date and the tech is off w measuring bean, it could easily add up. Huge hugs.
I totally agree @zuuls_mom. I was worried that coming in at the end of the month I would have missed a ton but it’s pretty quiet right now. All the action is in the TTGP grad thread but even that’s slow.

It sucks and especially for those of us PGAL it is a very real reminder that it could happen. That being said. I have found comfort in this data that another bumpie had previously shared (my apologies I cannot recall who to tag for credit!). But check it out. https://datayze.com/miscarriage-chart.php
@themadcamel To be completely and utterly honest with you - there is very little you can do to instigate a MC yourself unless you are smoking heavily, drinking heavily, using hardcore drugs, have an uncontrolled medical condition (diabetes/high blood pressure), are huffing paint thinners or eating lead paint.
If you have 1 glass of alcohol or eat 1 piece of unpasteurized cheese or drink 2 cups of coffee it’s not going to cause a MC. It’s more than likely a chromosomal issue or location of the zygote. I’m not sure if that’s gonna help you or not, but I like my science facts and I’m sticking by them!
@lillywonderland science is good. We science! I'm more thinking along the lines of statistics, and how a certain percentage of us could go at any time because of shit luck even if we're doing everything right. Like I said, dark.
*shakes it off* Here's a gif of a dog riding a turtle.
Those charts are nice and all but when you've been on the wrong side of them they kind of lose their sense of security. I agree there is really not much you can do to stop the worst from happening. It happens, it sucks beyond belief but just trying to stay positive and do your best is all you can really do. Sorry for the ladies who have had to leave, it is heartbreaking and I wish no one ever had to experience that.
@supermom34482 I am coming off of a miscarriage in November, so I get it. For me, I appreciate the data in that everyday, my chances of a successful pregnancy increase. It's not for everyone, I get it. We all have to cope the way that works best for us.
@lillywonderland I'm feeling the same way. It freaking sucks. @themadcamel I've actually been terrified since the board started. I've been dreading seeing all the MC posts that will inevitably come. It makes it hard to get super invested in the board when you feel kind of guarded emotionally. It is also making my PGAL brain go on high alert. I feel like that sounds so selfish and makes me a bad person...
@lillywonderland I'm so sorry. I'm really heartbroken as well and I didn't know them as well as you did. I'm hopeful the rest of us will get to continue on with successful pregnancies. The fear won't go away, of course, but the hope remains.

@kgg2241 It doesn’t make you sound like a bad person at all!! I think we’ve all been guilty of being a little guarded in here. It’s hard when you just don’t know what’s going to happen, but I suppose that’s life.
@zuuls_mom Hope is my favorite thing. I love the quote (in spoiler)
@kgg2241 you don't sound like a bad person for saying that. We all cope with things in different ways. At the end of the day, you and the LO in your uterus are the most important thing. You keep doing you
I'm just getting on here but was having a rough morning thinking about birth defects. So similar negative thoughts. An acquaintance had a son with Gastrochisis, which then gets one thinking. Small percent chance of this stuff but it seems I always end up having risks for an increased chance. Like this time I found out around conception that my mom had never been in a hot tub... So of course I jumped in one with her without thinking about it. First trimester during boring cold January does not help.
@kgg2241 you are definitely not a bad person. I thought about staying guarded because leaving another BMB will break my heart, but the urge to offer camaraderie and give support is too overwhelming lol.

re: having to leave a BMB. It definitely broke my heart the last time I had to do it, and I know if things don't work out it's going to break my heart again, but I think for me personally I've been more open this time having experienced a loss so I'm thankful for the support I've received from being open with you all and I won't feel like I'm saying goodbye to a bunch of strangers if things don't go as planned, if that makes sense.
@MsBeachNJ That's an interesting and reassuring chart. I've been on the wrong side of those statistics before, but it's still comforting to see those numbers.
@luckyducky003 nuts, right?! I still can’t believe it. One of the people they interviewed was my company’s receptionist. She’s the one that called 911 to report it!
