@creamcheeseplease welcome back! I had noticed you were gone, nice to "see" you back here! Yes, I'm my extensive, generally not-super-scientific internet research, a 10 day LP can be normal! Hope it is for you. (and btw, we did keep the stick from DDs nose and are going to put it in her baby book. Gross, but will probably amuse me someday)
@NYTino24 welcome! My first few cycles back postpartum were definitely wonky. I wouldn't worry too much about it yet. For me, they regulated after 2-3. Also I had never heard of the pineapple thing, I will have to try that!
Better late than never, right? Hi, everyone! I have a feeling that pineapple sales are going to skyrocket soon. 😆
@flinstone-2 I liked that age too! My mom kept telling me that it just keeps better until 18 mo. Ha, I think it just keeps getting better as long as you can discount teething times. 🙂
@jennifer_louise These kids with their logic. Of course saying don’t put it in your ear means that your nose is an ok place for it. Glad your lo is ok.
@shamrocandroll I like the goal that you set, and I may need to try it out. Five out of six is fantastic, especially with all those illnesses run around! I hope everyone is healthy again!
@MNturnsVA FX for you in the new cycle. I kwym with finding signs. I’ve gotten more ridiculous with them. “If the cat comes to me right now, then this will be our cycle”. 🙄 as if ss wasn’t enough to keep me occupied/crazy. Also, I hear you on carrying the kid to bed...I have 50/50 chances at this point. 💔❤️
@stephanie123456 I hope your son was able to share at school. Long breaks make it so hard to return—adult or kid.
@Spartanrd4 our daughters must have very similar birthdates! Dd turns 2 2/20! I’m a little jealous that yours has figured out pooping in the potty. I messed up our success by getting a little disappointed when we rushed to a potty and were a little too late one time. I tried to backtrack and say that it didn’t matter, but the damage was done. She still tosses me a bone here and there and goes in the toilet before a bath occasionally.
@NYTino24 Sorry about the short cycle. I can’t really help you out from my experience. I was exclusively pumping and af returned WAY TOO fast.
@kpearse99 Yay about timing and about your son turning things around!!
Month/Cycle: 9
WTO/TWW: WTO
Ages of other child(ren): 22mo
Thoughts about this cycle: Hopeful and determined. It’s the Tww when I crumble.
Questions: 2 if I may... 1. Have your kids asked you about siblings? My daughter has a knack for finding big sister books that she wants me to read her. 2. Is there a SAHM or anyone who has tips for how to not drive myself crazy in the tww when I’m at story time surrounded by newborns and pregnant bellies? I even lent out my maternity clothes, so now I’m avoiding that friend since I fell apart seeing her in my old pants the other week.
Rant/Rave/Brag: dd said thank you unprompted and unexpectedly when I helped her with something.
GTKY: Do you have any friends from childhood that you are still very close with? If not, what is the next longest friendship you have in your life? I’m very close with freshmen year college friends...which was back in 2004.
@begging4abump my son is about a month younger than your DD and he doesn't have enough words to ask for a sibling but he has made it clear that I AM HIS MAMA AND NO ONE ELSE'S. When I pick him up from daycare if any of the other kids come over or even come close he freaks out and holds onto my leg really tight and sometimes yells. He actually pushed someone once, which I felt really bad about. Poor kid was just standing in the same vicinity as us. So he'll be in for a surprise if/when a sibling comes along.
@creamcheeseplease Ha! My cousin had that issue with her firstborn. Her son would get territorial over her if she pet a dog. My cousin had a second son, and when anyone would ask the firstborn about his brother, his response was always “he’s still at our house” for the first year or so. 😂
@begging4abump Yes my daughter was born 3/1! She was actually due 3/7 but I ended up having her 6 days early...glad it wasn't a leap year or she would of been born on 2/29!
@begging4abump - Yes.... DS asks all the time!! He's 6.5 and has been asking since for awhile now. We told him that after DH and I got married (this past September!) we would start praying and asking God to bless us with a baby. He will, out of no where, ask a question like "Will I be 6 or 7 when my baby sister comes?" (He is dead set on it being a baby sister). He calls the baby his baby and has often told me his baby sister is already in my tummy just not ready to start growing yet. Or he'll say something like, I can't wait to kiss my baby in your belly goodnight ever night to tell her that I love her! It's so sweet to hear but also adds so much pressure, as I know he wants and deserves a baby sibling so much!

Oh my gosh @kpearse99 that is so cute and so sad. @begging4abumpMy DD is 2 and she calls EVERYTHING her "baby sister" (including this toolbox she likes to "tuck in". It just adds a whole nother level of guilt to the TTC process.
@jennifer_louise Yes with the whole guilt thing!!! It's all so cute and so sweet but makes you feel so guilty!

@creamcheeseplease I live in a high cost area too, where childcare is absolutely bananas. And I honestly don't even know how we do it with two in daycare, but we just do. When I think about what I would spend all that money on...wow! We make sacrifices by not going out as much, using coupons (yes, DH is a crazy couple lady follower), utilizing every tax credit we can, and we've both gotten some raises--which adds up, though not at the speed we seem to need/spend it. One thing we are considering when(if) we have three is getting a nanny or a nanny-share. A nanny for three would be about the same as daycare for two, plus would help tremendously with saving time for DH and myself.

Thoughts about this cycle: Anxiety that if it works, it won't stick.

Rant/Rave/Brag: DS2 moved up to the next classroom at daycare a few months ago and his language is exploding. DS1 is finally grasping the idea of "gentle hands" and only body slams his brother every other day instead of every single day!

with? I am very close to my BFF from 1st grade. Although since we've both had kids our communication is really only via text every couple months and we basically only see each other at our kid's birthday parties now. We are VERY different. But history binds us and I will love her forever.
@junebabyH I am 35- I will be almost 36/36 by the time I give birth again hopefully and for some reason the age freaks me out even though I was 33 when I had my last baby. My OB said someone my age has a 1 in 200 chance of having a chromosomal abnormality which is still really low and she had her kids over 35 so she didn't seem too concerned....basically once you hit 35 your eggs don't magically just go down the crapper.
Hi, I hope I dont seem to be here out of the blue too much... I've been lurking a little but my husband and I are starting to TFAS and with our first TB gave me so much support.
Month/Cycle: 2
WTO/TWW: WTO (CD2)
Ages of other child(ren): 17 mo.
Thoughts about this cycle: hopeful, but also... next cd1 will be when we are on a family vacay with my whole fam so could be an amazing trip with a HUGE secret to keep (and may bring something to POAS) or could be a crappy start to the trip.
Questions: nothing now. Just lots of lurking and excited to be back in a regular bump board.
Rant/Rave/Brag: nothing now...
GTKY: Do you have any friends from childhood that you are still very close with? If not, what is the next longest friendship you have in your life? Yes! I have 4 friends I've known since my first day of first grade. We have spread out around the country now, but we stay in touch almost daily. I had the first kid in the group and there's 2 more now, and we already call them cousins.
@Spartanrd4 I think I just want to be done with sleepless nights by the time I’m 40 (preferably sooner) and so every month I’m not KU gets closer and closer to that mark.
Can I rant? My morning totally sucks because I spent 20 minutes arguing with my 6.5 year old because he didnt want to wear any of the 100 shirts he owns 🤬
@KhRun17 I remember you from the TTGP boards! Welcome back! @begging4abump I'm a SAHM, it's definitely hard. All of my friends are back TTC or newly pregnant. One of my friends accidentally got pregnant and has a 17 MO and a 2 week old.. I guess my only tips are to soak up the children you do have and do as many things that you can with them before you have morning sickness or fatigue or something like that holding you back. I currently have a condition where I'm not even ovulating, so we're technically looking at infertility right now and it KILLS me. I probably cry every day, but I am so thankful for the child we do have and I know that if he is the only one we ever get that he will be enough. I know that my friends with a newborn are barely leaving the house because it's that much harder again, so I'm enjoying being more mobile and getting to try new things and places with my LO.
I am sorry to hear about your current status, @flinstone-2, and your lo sounds very lucky to have a mom who has her head on straight. Your advice really resonates. You’re so right. Thanks. ❤️
“Everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about” (or however that saying goes)... @flinstone-2 I’m so sorry to hear about your condition. But beautiful perspective about being able to be more mobile with an older child and knowing your little guy is enough to make your life full. Hugs!
