Last month I officially got us out of credit card debt, and we're at our savings goal in our safety net fund after about 3 years of working really, really hard on it. But I'm trying to view it like you should view a diet (I say should because I suck at this when dieting, haha) and not just declare victory and go on a spending spree now that the hard part is done, because it's so easy to backslide. So I'm trying to cut out needless spending, nag MH less (in return for him making an effort to communicate more openly), and spend less time on phones and more time being together.

More family time, less phone/social media. Also trying to cut out some caffeine and sugar. And get more exercise.. In general, I'm summarizing my goal as trying to be a better me.

I want to plant a garden in 2019! And be more intentional, just in general.
Also I have a goal to host a monthly Sunday dinner for those closest to us. Something small and stress free, but gives us time to connect to our loved ones we don't see that often.
Oh, and read 12 books.
@ruby696 We're about to rip out our shower and retile it, I keep calling it a "full reno" but it's not lol. What's after the bathroom??
@b_1029 The social media thing is HARD. It's like my fingers are programmed to just scroll through all of my social media apps. I have to intentionally stop myself and say "is this the best use of your time" to which the answer is aalllways no.
@brookert615 I agree with the saying no thing. I'm so bad at it. Unless it's plans after my bedtime... Then I have no problem saying no lol
@nomangos23 We ripped out walls, moved sewer lines, re-did plumbing, etc. The herringbone tile floor just needs to be grouted and we need to tile the new shower. Then trim/beadboard and its basically done. Pic in spoiler is not our bathroom, but very similar to end result:
This pic is our unfinished floor:
Next is new crown moulding throughout, new interior paint, then we are splitting one long bedroom into two smaller bedrooms. And the list goes on. I let MH buy lots of fancy tools for the bathroom with the agreement that he uses them on other projects and he agreed. Now I own him! Lol.
Selfishly, put myself first. If I don't do it, no one will. My H is well aware, I tell him regularly Keep doing WW. I gained 30 lbs after I met my H and was the heaviest of my life and I felt terrible. I already lost 18 lbs last year. 15 more to go this year!

@ruby696 all the heart eyes - I'm having major bathroom envy! Please post pictures when it's done!
@nomangos23 same, it's so automatic. Alarm goes off, pick up my phone - TB, facebook, and instagram before I even sit up. Those are some great resolutions!
Much like @stephanie123456, I just want to be a better person this year. Instead of traditional resolutions, I like to choose a word or phrase that I work toward in all aspects of my life. This year I'm choosing "Be a person I'm proud of."
For me personally this means a wide variety of things like being a better employee, gossiping less 😂, being more fit/active, eating cleaner and cutting out soda, being more involved in the community, doing more for others, and just generally being a nicer person. I want to be the type of person I'd be proud to have as a friend, relative, or coworker.
I want to be more environmentally conscious with my decisions, look for changes I can make to help the environment. I also want to teach myself how to sew and finish a sewing project.
@nomangos23 and @b_1029 MH was so relieved that our ceiling wasn't high enough per the building code for a chandelier over the claw foot tub we bought. I was soooo sad. I'll probably hang something pretty over it that doesn't require electricity, just to spite him 😂
Nothing crazy. Trying to read something everyday, write more (failing on that one), and try one new recipe a week. Just want to lead a more balanced life overall.
I don't usually make resolutions, but during the last year I felt like I finally turned a corner with managing my anxiety, I would like to continue that. I still have the occasional setback with certain triggers, but over all, I'm doing so much better than I was just over a year ago.
@littleredm About 8ish years ago, I took a beginner's sewing class and completed my first project (a throw pillow) in the first few hours, and an awesome tote bag after that. The pillow came out decent enough that I still have it out on my couch, and I've made a bunch of tote bags for people as gifts and they've loved them. I would recommend taking a class on a basic project, and then a class on sewing patterns, and then you can take it pretty much on your own from there!

First is to be present. Getting off my phone and not so obsessed with social media is something I need for my mental health.
Second is to get back to working on my weight loss. I was keto about a year ago and lost 61lbs in 6 months. I need to get back to that mindset and get myself to a healthy goal. So far so good!
Third is tied in with my second goal. It’s to take time for myself! I’m so focused on making sure everyone else is good, I’m forgetting about me.
@kbrown2385 I would love too!!! Do you use any apps or follow any pages in instagram or Facebook ?! I do both but they seems overwhelming at times. Lol. I’m so close to being ready (I just need to have sushi and really good pasta one more time lol)
@kels0091 I just use MyFitnessPal to track. I’ve tried carbmanager but find I don’t find their “food library” to be as good. For recipes and stuff I just Pinterest and google. Ibreatheimhungry.com has tons on yummy recipes. For the most part though I just keep it super simple. Meat and veggies cooked in a healthy fat. When I get crazy with recipes is when I get overwhelmed and fall off track.

@nomangos23 love the garden idea! We are trying to grow some veggies and herbs from seeds this year. Should be interesting lol.
@kels0091 come join me on the keto train!
I have a few!
First is to be present. Getting off my phone and not so obsessed with social media is something I need for my mental health.
Second is to get back to working on my weight loss. I was keto about a year ago and lost 61lbs in 6 months. I need to get back to that mindset and get myself to a healthy goal. So far so good!

Mine was simple: to just be more positive, and more present. Like, putting my phone down when I'm at home (@kbrown2385 @stephanie123456).
I need to quit drinking pop/soda which is so VERY difficult for me. I don't need it for the caffeine, just love the taste.
I need to get back into working out since it has been nearly 2 years *hides head in shame*
