I hope we donβt end up getting into it over vaccinating and circumcision. Itβs kinda pointless.
To all the moms in the potty training arena, Iβve had to potty train two foster kids. The naked learning CAN be helpful. However, one thing I suggest is having them around peers or slightly older children who use the potty. Thereβs also a Daniel Tiger episode on PBS Kids that I swear is magic. It just really helped. PBS actually has a potty training episode on most of its shows and theyβre all really helpful at encouraging the kiddo. Lastly, do what you can to give them ownership βare you going to choose to be a big girl today and use the potty?β That and literally sending them to the bathroom at the same times every day shortly after liquid intake.
My random is, did anyone else get vomiting at 11weeks? I was nauseous but last week a switch flipped and all of the sudden, I throw up randomly. I thought symptoms were supposed to get better not worse at the end of the first tri
Is anyone else having hip pain in bed? Sleeping on either of my sides is so uncomfortable and painful. I usually end up on back which I know I should stop soon.Β
@leylea89 a lot of my symptoms came back this week (also 11 weeks) with a VENGEANCE. My boobs hurt so bad they felt like they were going to explode, and my exhaustion has been at an all time high. Stomach problems and acne have returned as well. I feel your pain!
@leylea89 - I have been gagging and having little like just tiny spit ups since about week 8. Since about mid-week 11, I've been actually throwing up. Week 11 was my worst week. Everything seemed to peak. And now I'm just holding steady there.Β
@leylea89@hakele@meandlittleb I got week 12 off from symptoms, but I'm in week 13 now, and I feel almost worse than I did the first round. More puking, worse taste in my mouth, etc. I feel like it's almost worse cuz I got the tease of not feeling like s*** and then my body was like JK FOOLED YOU...

Creeping closer to my 17w appointment where I get my first progesterone shot + all the others to take with me for the rest of my pregnancy. Trying not to be freaked out. I popped this ? Into my due date group but anyone else getting the shots? Anyone had them before? Β
@ameliabedelia-2 if you donβt mind me asking, what probiotic do you take? My GI doc keeps getting on me to start one but wonβt give me a recommendation.
@motherofdogs, why are you starting progesterone at 17 weeks when itβs generally to support early pregnancy? Just curious. And what other injections?
Who else is watching Tidying Up and donating a ton of belongings? So excited to get rid of all of this extra stuff and turn right around and shop for secondhand baby stuff that everyone else has donated
@hestia14 I need to do another closet purge and also make the spare room full of stuff to donate and try to sell clear so it can be the guest room and then clear the guest room closet so it can be the nursery, Iβm just waiting to get my damn energy back.

Omg yes and folding my clothes into little origamis lately ππ
Couldn't decide whether to post this here or in HDBD, but anyone feel like their bump has gone back to looking like blump this week, even if it's probably more pronounced due to the LO inside?
It's getting harder to hide (which I know means it's probably actually bump, but I'm a size 14-16, so carrying a little extra in that area to start with and that's all I see), but we still haven't announced to the world, largely because it took us a year of TTC and I really want to see the heartbeat/ultrasound once out of the 1st tri/high miscarriage zone before telling the world, which I know is pessimistic AF, but I can't seem to shake it.
Could also be I'm just frustrated and having a rough week, symptom-wise, so this isn't helping/I'm over thinking everything...
@Happyin14 my last kid came at 36 weeks but I had two earlier hits of preterm labor at 20w and again at 27w so even though Iβm right on the edge of not needing it my doctor said she thinks I barley got to 36w before so I need that extra help.Β Iβll be getting the McKenna I believe. (Fx for the auto injector)Β
@motherofdogs I will be starting my injections at 16 weeks. I have no advice, as they'll be new to me too, but wanted to let you know you're not alone.Β
@greeneyedgirl12, yes to feeling moreΒ blump than bump. I'm a size 12 and there are days I see bump, and days like yesterday where was like, nope, it's still a little blump!
And also yes to feeling not ready to announce to the world quite yet. I'm 14+3, but had an MMC last year, so we're just very slowly starting to tell close friends. My H just told his brother yesterday. And even then I hesitate and don't want to share quite yet.
@runner_doll DH is antsy AF. I think if I don't let him announce after my OB appt. next week, he's going to be legit upset, and he's pretty easygoing on 99% of things... We'll see.
Ughhh. Ran out of unisom and only had a half pill left from when I tried doing only half. Can definitely feel the difference today. I guess my fried chicken phase was masked by the unisom!Β
The child I provide aftercare for is sick. She's been periodically hacking up a lung since she got here and I'm worried both DS and I will catch it. I texted the mom and she told me that she noticed that this morning... oof. I cannot get sick right now and DH is supposed to travel and will be so mad if he gets sick.Β
@mamanbebe I hate that!!!!! I refuse to send my kids to school and stuff when there are seriously obviously sick.Β I've asked students to stay home when they are really sick been vigilant in cleaning/disinfecting their desks.Β
Oh no @mamanbebe I hope it's nothing contagious and everyone stays healthy!!Β
A coughing kid is hard to deal with. Coughs can linger for soo dang long and if they are otherwise feeling fine it's hard to know what to do as far school and child care. I don't think anyone wins in that kind of situationΒ Β

@indulgentgypsy I am the same way, when my son first starts to get sick I keep him home and then if he's on the mend but just has lingering chest congestion and no sign of fever, I send him back. I do not want to be the person getting everyone else's kid sick.Β
@nopegoat I totally get that, but it's definitely a new cough though (she has already been here this week) and more-so that the mom knows I am pregnant and did not give me an option to decline taking her today. She has some other care options and offered to do that tomorrow, I just wish she had thought of that this morning. At pickup I'm going to ask that if she is sick at all, going forward, that she plan ahead to find other care.Β
Cross your fingers for me mamas. I am going to look at a trailer on 3/4 acres of land 2 minutes from my school that is for sale.Β
If it goes well, we will have a bigger (but still a little too small...) place of our own soon. I'm okay with trailer house living, and if we own we can build on to it to suite our needs. I just need the house to work AND the school to hire me back next year.Β
@motherofdogs I will be starting my injections at 16 weeks. I have no advice, as they'll be new to me too, but wanted to let you know you're not alone.Β
Ohh! Yay! A friend! I was supposed to start at 16 but my ob is out of town. Whenβs your appointment?Β
And 3/4 of an acre is plenty do all the homesteading things you want. π
I think I've recommendeded it before but if anyone want to start homesteading on small acreage look up East Village Farm on FB or Instagram. I totally have a girl crush on her and all the things she does on her tiny plot. I think she has .23 acres.Β

Re: Randoms w/o 1/8
@hestia14 I kind of want to go check out the mess on Jan 19, but I also need to actually get work done today

@mnkenned that looks cozy. Dh would hate it haha. I'm going to get it.

I had progesterone shots before surrounding IVF. They are a tad rough but you adjust. I recommend icing the area first. It helps loads!Β
Is it Friday yet, ya'll?Β
