@rennie1108 maybe this is a FFMC but IMO there’s really not a need to pump and dump. This is mainly based on info from Dr Jack Newman and my IBCLC. As long as you can safely hold your baby you can feed your baby. If I pumped “drunk” milk I would mix with “sober” milk. Obviously personal preference but dumping milk hurts my soul lol.
@rennie1108 also, if you pump (or nurse) WHILE drinking, the booze hasn’t had time to make it into your milk yet (in the small quantities that it ever would).
@thatbaintforbetty oatmeal stouts get in that all-important oatmeal too! I don’t believe it’s true that it helps much with production (other than making pumping less stressful), but I’m not going to ever let DH in on that secret when I can use it to justify a delicious beer.
also, no idea what Campfire Stout is, but I’m imagining the peaty smoke of whisky in stout format and want it stat.
I'm a bit of a girly-girl when it comes to my beer. But I've got Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat in my beer fridge that has been waiting for me for a long time.....3 more months, Tangerine Wheat, 3 more months.
I have a six pack of Great Lakes Oatmeal Stout waiting in my basement for...milk production. Yeah. That’s it My MIL promised me a four pack of my fave IPA when it comes out today too!
@rennie1108 I have started mentally preparing to be hungrier as soon as I see there are new posts on this thread. But I feel very inspired just in case my sushi dreams don’t come true.
A cheeseburger also sounds delicious even though every time I see or smell one, my stomach churns. Hopefully that will go away once LO is here!
As for the pump n dump, I was told that you could have 1 drink in the hour after you feed the baby and it wouldn't be an issue for your next nursing session, which were usually 3 to 4 hours apart for me.
With DD all I wanted was steak and hummus from a local restaurant. I think my parents went and got it for me With DS I couldn’t eat till like 2am because of my hemmoreging and blood transfusions. The night director of the hospital raided the cafeteria for me and brought an assortment of food. She felt bad because I was starving, traumatized and everything was closed. I think I got Panera the next day
This time I’ll just see what I’m hungry for post delivery

I might be remembering this wrong simply because I want a damn beer. The darker the better.
Note to self: buy case of Campfire Stout for afterwards. Even if it doesn’t help I’m damn well going to enjoy it.
