@sleepy33 I'm obsessed with flooring like this with walls this color. I'm big into neutrals, though. They make me feel relaxed and calm, which is important for me to have in a house 😂 when we get a house we may start off with vinyl that looks like hardwood and then when our kids are out of elementary school stage, switch to hardwood. TBD!
I just want to say that I love my OB. She really cares about her patients and how they are doing. She called today to just to see if I had questions about all the tests the MFM dept were running and the extra ultrasounds that were recently scheduled due the echogenic bowel found at the ultrasound, and my M antibodies. She wanted to make sure I wasn’t worrying unnecessarily!

@DuchessOfCambridge I do love the look of dark floors, but having lived with even just medium dark stained floors in my current rental, they are soooo impractical for me. Every spare dustball or dog hair shows, every footprint. They literally look a mess just days after I sweep and mop. That's part of why I'm struggling to find good inspiration pics, because soooo much of what is out there right now has dark flooring. I totally feel you on neutral walls, though! All of the woodwork in this house is 80's oak and I am itching to paint it out white. Like this room, I'm wanting to paint the brick and all the woodwork out white, do a light grey or greige above the wainscoting, and then I'm waffling on the flooring. Debating doing wood like upstairs, or possibly a tile, maybe in a herringbone pattern.
@DuchessOfCambridge I love the look, but I worry about it being dated/trendy 5 years from now. This is not our forever house and I'm trying to make decisions thinking of resale value down the road. Which may be a fool's errand, idk.
@sleepy33 my mom re-did her floors about 8 years ago with a medium-brown hardwood. It’s not trendy, but I do find that it has stood up really well over the years, goes great with most colours and gives a really good first impression when you walk in the house. I can’t find too many pics in my phone but here’s an old Christmas photo that kind of gives an idea of the colour. It isn’t as good as a light hardwood for not showing dust and scratches, but overall it isn’t bad either.
@sleepy33 what about a medium/light color like this one? I currently have a medium-dark floor in my house (some kind of walnut) and it shows every single fleck of dust and dog hair. BUT it is Pergo and it's been incredibly durable. Dogs haven't made a single scratch on it. All the scratches have come from me and DH being careless clodhoppers. They're still not bad. Pergo is good stuff.
This is not my house - color suggestion. I think it would look nice after painting the oak accents white and doing the greige walls like you mentioned.
This is what we've been thinking of for the main living area, which is one floor up from the fireplace area (it's a side to side split). We were just thinking of maybe doing something different like a tile down in the fireplace room, in part to save money and in part because that's where the majority of the foot traffic from outside will come in. But we may end up just doing the same hardwood down there as well.
I can’t imagine trying to pick a floor style/color. Too many choices. But I agree that I’ve heard the dark colors show dust and stuff so easily. Ours hide everything so I love them for that. Just wish they were hardwood.
We have gray wood look tile flooring, and it's awesome for stains/hair/everything. To me it's so neutral it doesn't feel like it will be dated soon. It doesn't have a huge gradient of color either, so it's kind of like gray tile.
I don’t really know where to put this so it’s going here. I had an ultrasound done on 10/10 because of all of my spotting I was having for so long. I just received the bill for it. They charged me twice, one for an ultrasound and once for a transvaginal ultrasound. Is that normal? That one ultrasound is costing me over $500 out of pocket ($860 was submitted to insurance).
@mrskoz428 I personally have not experienced it, with my insurance I pay one small bill after delivery that covers all prenatal care through birth, but I have heard that abdominal and transvaginal ultrasounds are billed separately, even if they are both used during the same visit. In my opinion, that's total crap, but yes, I do think it's normal. Crappy normal.
@DuchessOfCambridge the thing is, I only had a transvaginal. That’s it. One ultrasound, two separate bills. I’m confused. And they are really good at sending bills on holidays/weekends so you can’t get questions answered.
Husband is in the kitchen thinking I'm upstairs (I'm guessing), but I'm actually in the living room and I'm listening to him talk shit. First about the pan I started the sausage in being too small. Just caught him muttering "if I have to do the dishes, wtf did you do all day?" "Excuse me?!" *Silence* me: "what was that?" "Huh?" "Wtf did I do today?" *Silence* "I know what you did today, you brought me lunch."
No asshole, I spent all morning cleaning the rest of our house, cleaned up some of the old house, brought you lunch 25 minutes away from me, let the cat in 40 minutes in the opposite direction of your work, and went shopping for household items we needed. Feel the appreciation just spewing off of him 😒
Headed out of town for 4 days with my family. Found out this morning that H cant go. So just me and the family. Upside is I'll have internet I suppose.
@mrskoz428 I'd definitely be calling. When I had my anatomy scan they gave me the possible bill before hand and had seperate charges for transvaginal (which my midwife did not order for me) and an ultrasound. I planned to refuse the transvaginal if the tech asked me to disrobe. All that to say yep they are billed seperate but if you only had one, definitely fight it.
Update: though I know no one asked 😂 but H finished cooking dinner, apologized and said he was just frustrated and hadn't seen everything else I'd done, thanked me for what I did, and did the dishes.
@eatinwatermelonseeds Good. I'm glad he realized he was in the wrong and that you weren't just sitting around eating bonbons while he acted as servant.

Well, DH took my car to work today because we bought a chest freezer for hunting meat and breast milk so I can’t do my grading as all my school stuff is in there. Shoot. 🤷🏽♀️ So, I’m painting the spots on the ceiling that the last owner didn’t correct because she was a horrible painter!
