Re: Symptoms week of 12/24

  • Of course I told the family yesterday that I thought I was getting better with the MS. This morning I puked and peed myself. Pregnancy is glorious.
  • Loading the player...
  • @wearyfuzzball it's the most glorious! I'm sorry that is definitely no fun!

I on the other hand either caught a stomach bug or my MS has intensified and added loose bms to it! I also asked for something more for the MS because unisom and B6 have only laughed in my face. She prescribed me phenergan and all its managed to do is put me in a sleepy nauseous stupor!
  • @wearyfuzzball and @vv826 sorry you both are experiencing crappy MS for the holidays. Mine is definitely much better, but I am hoping for gone. Not sure I’ll ever achieve that until baby pops out. Hopefully you both have better days tomorrow!

Aside de from my UTI, I feel like a new symptom for me is that I feel like I have more discharge which makes it feel moister. Sorry if that’s gross. Not sure if others are experiencing the same or not.
  • @chrssyms Thank you! you actually make me feel better knowing that yours has gotten better hopefully I'm right behind you!
  • @chrssyms ugh...the discharge is real. I feel like I’m leaking! I had using liners but I have to or else I’d be changing my underwear all day long!

  • Still sick over here....
  • @chrssyms my discharge has increased, but it's not too awful yet.
  • I’m still sick too. I was in the car for 3 1/2 hours today, and I luckily didn’t puke, but got so close so many times. It was terrible.
  • I was totally not expecting it and didn't realize what it was at first but I'm pretty sure I had a Braxton Hicks contraction today. With previous pregnancy I remember feeling them before I was at 20 weeks and they were really strong for the rest of the pregnancy so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it happens a bit earlier with this one.
  • I really thought my MS was gone so I stopped taking Unisom/B6 and it promptly came back with a VENGENCE. Guess I’ll go back on it for now. Grrr
  • @chrssyms discharge over here! Feels unpleasant coming out. Also maybe TMI my sense of smell is very strong. Every time I sit down to pee I can smell my vagina (the natural smell not a gross one) but it’s still reaaaaallly weird.
  • @cricket1688 Same with the smell - it's so odd. I'm always self conscious in public bathrooms thinking everyone can smell it 😂
  • @wearyfuzzball hahaha yes! But for me I’m wondering about my husband. Haven’t had any comments complaints though so 🤣
  • Haha @cricket1688 and @Erin1510 okay I’m glad I’m not the only one!! It’s just so freaking weird to me.
  • @pbtoast this has happened to me too - nausea in the middle of nowhere. thankfully, must less frequent now...

I'm finally regularly feeling flutters! This morning's oatmeal chocolate chip cookies were literally a hit.
  • The headaches and sinus congestion are awful. I think I am turning into a frat boy now too....starving all the time, messed up skin, and random crazy libido. I don't know if the headaches are more frequent because of the stress I have been going through,  but I will have my genetics results by Friday morning at the latest so I know regardless of what those are, at least I won't be in the waiting phase which is making me bonkers. I have been getting random flutters too, which is pleasantly surprising at just over 13 weeks, *TW* but it makes me feel better when I feel it. It is reassuring that my LO is still doing OK in there especially with all this uncertainty going on. I desperately don't want to lose the baby so any reassurance I get that he/she is still alive is helpful*end TW*
  • I have been so hungry today! I eat a big meal and then I’m starving again 3 hours later. Also, anyone else have burning, tingling pain in their boobs? More specifically in your nipples. That just started tonight.

I’ve had a cold lately and I’m still throwing up. The other day I was sitting by the toilet in a weird position and it hit me again. So I threw up at a weird angle and slightly strained a muscle in my side. Now I’m blowing my nose, coughing and sneezing so every time I do that it tweaks the muscle. Ouch.

@BlondePeanut I keep waiting for my libido to increase... still waiting lol.
  • Is it okay to kill you MIL? She was sick over Christmas and hanging all over me even though I repeatedly told her not to and even squirmed away. Now I think I have her cold. I am mad.
  • @battleangel I think its frowned upon  but that deserves at least a kick in the pants.
  • @antera23 I’ve totally had burning nipples! Not all the time but every once and awhile
  • @battleangel it's for sure worth a well-placed shove. My best friend is in town from Kentucky, I literally only see her twice a year at most (I haven't gotten to give her a hug since June), but she cancelled on our hangout time this week bc her kids have HFMD and she doesn't want to risk exposing me even just to herself in case she's a carrier, knowing full well it isn't likely that it would hurt Baby in the slightest, just could make me uncomfortable. If she can do that, your MIL prob deserves a good "Whoopsie!" shove in the ribs.
  • @battleangel oh that would piss me off too!!  I hope you don’t get sick
  • @ki1244 I know it sucks to not see your friend but let me tell you HFMD is AWFUL as an adult. We got it when DS got it last year. DH lost all of his finger and toe nail. He was plenty more than just uncomfortable. One of the kiddos in my BMB lost sections of his hair from it. It can be downright nasty. I dont think DH slept for a week because he was in so much pain.
  • I’m also in the frat boy club @BlondePeanut! With discharge and sinus congestion on top.

I haven’t had any MS for my whole pregnancy but since my surgery last week I’ve had almost constant nausea and even vomited a few times. Every time I cough I am struggling to hold it in. I’ve also got really bad constipation and gas! I’m hoping this is all pregnancy related but I’m going to see a doctor tomorrow to make sure it’s not surgery related. Feel like bit of a nuisance going in but better to be safe than sorry!
  • A new one: Itchy skin for the last week or so. Worst on legs and arms...literally scratching until I bruise in my sleep. I have eczema so I think it's just hormones driving that crazy but I put a call into my OB today just to be sure. I know there are issues with liver that can be checked with blood work. We shall see.
  • Glad you’re getting that checked @ohheyitsb! My nurse said if you itch on the back of your legs that could be the liver thing but to get any itching checked out. Fingers crossed it’s just hormones 🤞🏼🤞🏼
  • Constipation and hemorrhoids are a fun new combo for me. My DH thinks it’s hilarious to play Johnny cash’s Ring of Fire outside the bathroom door. 🙄🙄
  • @pigglesworth i would kick my DH but also laugh if he did that to me. lol. Sorry he’s being a pain about it.
  • @pigglesworth have you tried a squatty potty or short stool to help? Sometimes it's just about getting in the right position.
  • Add me to burning nipples too. And the sex drive, guys... we had sex 2 days IN A ROW! The month we conceived we had sexy once that month, so 2 in a row is big for us, LOL!!! I could have made it 3 in a row today after my sex dream last night but I didn’t shower yesterday so I did DH a favor.

I think my normally "full As" (lol) are approaching D cups and I don't like it at all... :(

This morning, I nearly fainted for no real reason. Out of nowhere, I felt sick and rushed to the bathroom, where I broke out into a crazy sweat, and was shaking and feeling dizzy, before I fell and almost lost consciousness. Thankfully I landed on the soft bathroom mats and not the sharp tile shower step. I told DH (who heard the "thump" and came to check on me) that he should call 911 if I faint, and I was 90% sure I was about to faint as I lay on the floor. Five minutes later, I was perfectly fine... I spent quite a bit of time googling what could be wrong with me and the only thing that makes sense is "vasovagal syncope," which can apparently be brought on by stress or anxiety. My parents are visiting, so that's plausible...

I know some of you have also had dizzy spells, although I'm not sure if the cause is the same. In case anyone is interested, here is some information about vasovagal syncope as well as other reasons for dizziness in pregnancy:

  • @marijaa333 That's happened to me 3 times now! Only once I lost consciousness, the other two times I was just SUPER dizzy. It's a totally sucky symptom.
  • @wearyfuzzball yikes, sorry to hear you've experienced it three times already. The internet advises getting horizontal as soon as you start feeling unwell, and also to sleep on your left side (I've been sleeping every which way still). Have you mentioned it to your OB?
  • @marijaa333 Yeah, my OB basically said it was a normal pregnancy symptom. She told me to get up slowly from sitting or laying down. It's never happened right when I stand up, it's only happened when I'm walking around, so I usually go find the lowedt place I can sit, just in case I fall.
  • @wearyfuzzball thanks for that, I guess it's reassuring that it's "normal!"

  • @marijaa333 One other thing I forgot to mention is that being dehydrated can make it worse. So I *try* my hardest to stay hydrated.
  • @wearyfuzzball I've definitely been guilty of not drinking enough water...
  • I’m about to get on a flight and I’m sooooo nauseous! Thoughts and prayers please (lol I’m kidding)
  • @luckystar28 hope your flight went alright despite feeling awful!
  • I feel like I have the grossest symptoms! let's add super bad constipation to my list now. I have the urge but when I try it just doesn't happen and now it's become painful! I think being in a car for 7 hrs yesterday really slowed everything down. I took miralax have tried to drink tons of water and even tried a bit of coffee because it usually does the trick and nothing. I'm to the point where I'm scared to try because it's painful now, idk if to give my ob a call or what!
