How many months have you been TTC?: We are just about to start. I’m getting my Mirena out this afternoon.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I’m going to start temping tomorrow AM, wait for my first AF then the usual, ovulation tests and such. This will be for #2, and it took us 2 years, metformin, 2 surgeries plus an IUI to have our DD (PCOS, low morph, endo, septate uterus). We’re going to try on our own for six months then re-evaluate.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): One 14 month old DD. I work in sales, we have two dogs This community was a big help to me last time. I’ll probably just lurk a bit until we really get going. ❤️
How many months have you been TTC?: 4
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: OPKs primarily.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): we just moved to Amsterdam and have 1 amazing dog. I am studying and my husband is working. We’re originally from Toronto!

I will be 30 in two weeks 😅
How many months have you been TTC?: 2months
What are you doing to get knocked up? That’s really why I joined this community, it’s just been two months, so I’m trying to learn as much as possible to get a positive test soon. I’ve been taking prenatal vitamins, using calendar to track my ovulation dates. That’s pretty much it. Should I be doing more? It’s our first time trying.
Tell us about yourself? We dated 8 years (right off high school) before we got married 3 years ago. We decided to get settled in before trying for a family, so here we are. This would be the first grandchild for both our parents. So the pressure is on! I naively thought it would take one month, one try and i would see my possitive test last month. My AF was 2 days late, i tested, and got my first negative. So I need advise. What else should I be doing? Will it really take 6 months to a year? 😳 ... On another note, I have 2 spoiled dogs to keep me busy until they get a big brother or sister. 🙃
@knottie3542f646672bbd5a would you please change your username? It makes it hard for us to get to know and tag you. There’s no way to tell for sure how long it will take you to conceive - you only have about a 20% chance each cycle with good timing. The recommendation is to wait until you’ve hit 12 months of trying (or 6 months if you are 35 or older) before you see a specialist. You use OPKs to help pinpoint ovulation and can track your BBT (basal body temperature) so you can confirm O (which can only be done after O).
@AKuzReve We visited Amsterdam last year. I LOVED it so much! We had so much fun - it’s a fantastic city!

Ages (you and SO): Me 36. DH. 35 for a rew more days
How many months have you been TTC?: 1. I am 10 days into my first 2ww and we are so new at his every little twinge we wonder if it’s “a sign”... We just got married in June
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: this cycle we did opk’s. But for at least the next few months we are planning to not pay attention to my cycle, there’s not much chance we will miss my fertile window completely and we would like to keep it as spontaneous as possible for now...
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): no kids, 2 dogs a Pomeranian and a mini Aussie we both work full time on different shifts so I have evenings to myself a lot of days. That’s part of how I ended up here I was looking for a way to talk/vent about the ttc process without bugging my friends.. no one I know personally is currently ttc. Hobbies. I sew, knit, and crochet. DH. Like strategy games
**TW: loss**
How many months have you been TTC?: We started trying in July. I had a MMC last month. I haven't had AF yet, so although I'm not technically benched, I'm also not technically trying in earnest yet.
**END TW: loss**
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Not doing anything too serious yet. Taking OPKs, but just casually. Tracking will begin in earnest after AF this month.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Do I **TW for mention of living children** here? Sorry, I'm currently lurking between here and the TTCAL board and I'm a little bit confused and not sure where I go and what the rules are in each place, haha. DS is 25 months. We lost our 13.5 year old dog in October and our cat last December. It's been a rough year. We got DS two fish back in October, and one died on Monday. So I guess we're down to one goldfish, which is insane for me since I have always had pets. Let's see... I'm a reliability engineer (I break stuff), and I love my job! I feel like I don't have time for real hobbies anymore. Is Netflix a hobby?

@AKuzReve hey fellow Canadian! I'm also from Toronto.
@knottie3542f646672bbd5a As lillywonderland mentioned before, please go change your username so we will be able to identify you! It's a stressful and crazy journey when you're first starting out but we hope we can arm you with whatever information you need. First and foremost, I'd pick up a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility (TCOYF) - you'll see that mentioned a lot on here, it's basically the bible of all things fertility related. You may also want to use an app instead of just a calendar to chart your cycles, whether or not you choose to track your Basal Body Temperature (BBT), cervical mucus (CM), or cervical position (CP). If I had one piece of advice for younger-me when we first started trying, it would be start collecting that data earlier than later. You can always disregard it if you don't end up needing it but you'll want it down the road if it does take longer than 6 months. Please feel free to lurk the daily threads some more and ask questions in the Chart Stalk/Questions thread. Everyone here is lovely and more than willing to help out or just lend a sympathetic ear.
@songstitcher you've come to the right place to talk/vent about anything TTC-related (or otherwise, in the Randoms thread).

knottie3542f646672bbd5a Hello... agree with the advice the other ladies have given you!
@songstitcher This a great place to bounce ideas and grow some friendships for sure. I feel like I bug my husband way less with my TTC stress because I'm talking with the ladies during out daily threads
@shamrocandroll So sorry to see you back here
@AKuzReve Welcome!
Diagnosed with PCOS & Hashimoto's
@shamrocandroll Netflix is definitely a hobby 😉 and I’m sorry for your recent MC, and also for your pet losses, it’s like losing a member of the family.
@lillywonderland I will definitely dip a toe into the TFAS soon
@knottie3542f646672bbd5a I recommend temping. I had crazy cycles last time due to my PCOS, and mixed signals from opks, so it really gave me peace of mind each month to know that I did in fact ovulate/or didn’t for tracking purposes to tell me RE.
Random question—I bump on the app, and it’s not letting me react to any comments for some reason. Says I need to have java enabled. Never had that issue last time. Anyone run into that issue?
eta: never mind on that last, its working now!
How many months have you been TTC?: just decided this month that we are reading to try again
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: I am WTO and have not had a cycle in over 2 years (see below). Last time TTC I tempd, OPKs, CM.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): Did not want mention kids above. It's been a while since I've been on the board and am still a bit unsure of what can be a TW. I have an almost 15 month old toddler. The last period I had was the one i got KU. I quit BF two months ago and have not had a cycle since. I am starting to get anxious about this since DH and I are ready to try again.
DS born 9.17
TFMR 10.19
Ages (you and SO): Both 29, although DH turns 30 next month
How many months have you been TTC?: We just started yesterday once my mirena was removed!
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?: Going to start tracking once AF arrives.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): One daughter who just turned 2! Two dogs, one cat. I work as a statistician and DH owns a consulting business. We love the holidays so we are super into decorating right now. And we love hiking when we have the time.

**TW Loss*
We started trying in August and have had 3 pregnancies and 3 losses. I am just finishing up my third loss at the moment so will most likely be participating mostly in TTCAL threads.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?:
Prenatal vitamins, baby aspirin daily, and waiting for my RE appointment in January.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.):
I have two beautiful boys (4 and 2) and have been married to my husband for 5 years. We've been together since middle school though. I am a veterinarian and own my own practice. We have two dogs currently.
