  • I'm at the 2 hour mark @danixbanani24. It was a nice break from work at first, now it's just unpleasant.
  • is that normal @danixbanani24 and @becks_726 , id be losing my shit!
  • @danixbanani24 3 hrs!?!!  That blows!
@kayjay44 good luck! Hope the appointment goes well!
  • @becks_726 I'd be so pissed! I was getting annoyed after waiting 30 min
  • @cass06_07 my OB got called out today. They forewarned me that it was an on-call day when they gave me the appointment but there wasn't much to do about it. I haven't had an appointment on an on-call day yet so I think I'm actually lucky.

Obviously today would be the day that I'd finish my book.

I’m logged into the wrong, old account. Rats.
  • Did I fix it?
  • At the risk of sounding very ungrateful... well here I go. A girl at work (she's new this year, so I don't know her well) is giving away some baby gear. She wanted to give it all to me because her plan was just to donate to goodwill otherwise. When she first brought it up, I confirmed she did not want any $ for it. Flash forward a few weeks and after looking at some photos, I decided on a stroller and a swing. Today, in conversation she mentioned she would bring it, and the quality of everything and how it was barely used. So I said "are you sure I can't give you any thing for those things?" and she said "oh, you can give me whatever you want." So...bottom line I feel awkward. it's a Graco stroller, and a swing. How much and how do I give? A gift card? A thank you note with a plant?! IDK! Now rethinking the swing as it was just going to go to my in-laws for a backup.. we don't really need it (it would have been a different story if it was free, you know?).
  • @ohsunnydays a friend at work did this to me once about toddler clothes . She had me look through a bin to see what I wanted. I found some stuff but honestly was being pretty picky, then wanted me to pay like 100 for it. At that point I had already returned the rest and pulled out rhe stuff I wanted. Obviously a miscommunication but it was annoying. I would just ask up front again and depending on what she says pass on the swing if it’s too much!
  • @nursemom913 thanks for the advice! Your right, I can just ask again and pass on the swing. Your story, omg! People blow me away! It overall makes me not want to accept any “free” things again!
  • @ohsunnydays - That is super shady.  I was and continue to be the grateful recipient of many hand me downs, and I cannot imagine that scenario occurring. That person = 👎
  • Im working from home for the morning with my feet up because my arches hurt so bad.. and up the inside of my legs about 6 inches... like shin splints no joke. The swelling went away over night, after sleeping with my feet propped up. I have meetings this afternoon so dragging my butt there for them. At least traffic will be lighter at that time.
  • @bellebaby221 right there with you. going home and changing clothes is always my dream these days.
  • Where is this pregnancy glow people speak of? Unless pale and tired looking means glowing..
  • @cali1710 - My "glow" is sweat from nausea and vomiting.

  • @cali1710 my glow is Sleep Deprivation, shade 4 🤦🏼‍♀️
  • Yeah mine cleared up but it’s still dry and flaky AF. I’m still going to enjoy not having mountainous zits.

Same here with the clear skin. For a bit I actually felt glowy, now I feel like I look tired but zit free. It's still an improvement over my normal.
  • @grebretso - This is the first pregnancy I haven't had cystic acne - I don't usually have any acne problems (I take good care of my skin and have good genes, I guess), so it's horrific to me and actually has left scars. I gotta take the wins where I can get them!

@kayjay44 I take excellent care of my skin too, but that doesn’t help much with shitty genes. All of my siblings have acne and we got it from both mom and dad. At least I don’t have mom’s psoriasis (yet)! Luckily I have minimal scarring, but when not pregnant it’s very rare for me to be completely acne free. Last time was for about a month when I was 23.

I really hope this kid gets his dad’s skin. Men in my family have way worse acne than the women too.

  • @grebretso - I do have psoriasis, but it gets better in pregnancy (*knock on wood*) and super sensitive skin, so you win some you lose some, I guess. I hoped my kids got DHs skin, but so far they have my sensitive skin. FX for no psoriasis for them because it can be brutal and painful.

  • @kayjay44 Psoriasis is awful! In my family it doesn’t seem to appear on anyone before puberty, but if you don’t have it by 20 you’re in the clear. My mom’s family has so many skin conditions it’s unreal. Acne is preferable to most of it, some of my cousins have it really rough. I’m talking prolonged hospital stays and hours every day rubbing ointment all over due to severe, chronic eczema and skin allergies. I’m really, really hoping I’m not a carrier of all that crap.

  • I had great skin most of my life (was a skin care fanantic) and then this pregnancy my skin went insane. Red bumpy cheeks and acne but none of my typical skin care helped  and just made it worse. It was so bad I went to the derm and she ended up diagnosing me with acne rosacea. I can’t really do anything about it until after birth so right now I just have a really minimal skin care routine, wash and moisturize. I don’t feel comfortable leaving the house without makeup anymore. It sucks.
  • @nataliezbrungar reading that made me exhausted. Good for you for doing all that! Sadly, they don’t always understand how tired we get. Enjoy your party!
  • @nataliezbrungart I don't know how you did all that! You should be exhausted!  :)
I haven't slept much for several nights and yesterday was super busy. I crashed at 9:00 but have been up since 2 am. Yay.

Omg @cali1710 That can’t be real!

I went back in my camera roll and found HDBD pics from like week 14. Holy crap I was so small it’s comical. I’m a stick figure with a giant head, I looked like a friggin pez dispenser :D

  • K I'm ready to trade my pregnancy glow back for the skin I had before. My face and chest are clear which is lovely... but my entire back is not. Not. Cool. I'll take the odd breakout on my chin.
  • I didn’t realize I didn’t come back here to comment on my doctors appt lol! It is not the norm for those who asked - something happened with two patients in the morning.

Re: skin - I’ve always had nice skin but it gets hella dry in the winter no matter how much I nourish it.  And I have my moms psoriasis anddddd horrible varicous veins thanks to both parents.  I also usually get some freak rashes in the winter like pityriasis rosea (aka Christmas tree rash)  Hooray!

  • I have definitely seen a change in my skin! More breakouts and my arms and legs are unusually dry for me.
  • I’ve had pityriasis rosea too @danixbanani24 - it was so bizarre! Only on my legs. Wut. I agree that it is definitely a freak rash!
