This may be more suited for the PG, but I also feel like not-as-active people would want to read as well: anyone opposed to me starting a pre-term labor/NICU thread? I hope none of us will need it, but some of us are at 30/31 weeks. All this talk about PL and stronger than usual BH makes me think we might want to start a thread about any stories or experiences.
@BourbonBiscuits - that seems like a great idea. I have to say, when my son was taken to the nicu, I had no frame of reference for that, definitely did not expect it, and in retrospect re: my reaction, assumed it meant the worst which it did not. I had no such group or thread to have prepared me!
I agree with the others, @BourbonBiscuits. My child in NICU was a surprise to me as well. In fact, if this baby is not a NICU baby which I hope it is not, then I am actually in uncharted waters.
@disneybaby84 - Ditto. We had the most beautiful view of Lake Michigan from our pp room but we were never there. When people talk about how it went in there room, in the normal pp way, it is foreign to me! I won’t know what to do!
Y’all. I’m starting to laugh at my constant misfortune this fall. I got sent home from work this morning because my eye was pinkish. (I’ve been sick with some sinus stuff for over a week and ironically, felt better today than I have in a week).
So, I went to the clinic, and what do you know? Bad bronchitis, sinus infection, two ear infections, AND pink eye. My BP was 120s/90, which is higher than Friday. She’s worried I’m anemic because I’m so pale. She asked me if I’ve been more stressed lately and so I gave her the cliff notes version of my life in the last two months. God love this woman, she said “ARE YOU FUDGING ME?” I lol’d.
Four prescriptions and a hug from the wonderful minute clinic NP later and here I am. Alive. Sort of.
I went to the store and bought celery and carrots so I can make a big pot of chicken and noodles then I’m going to hit the cough meds and take a nap.
@BourbonBiscuits I am! Its.. interesting. I’m 29 weeks measuring 39 😩🤦♀️ They already like to fight each other, kicking and punching at the same time. And ones breech so while ones kicking my vagina the other kicks me in the ribs. Its so fun. Edit:because I saw my OB and i am not measuring 35 weeks but 39. I’m a full term belly here.
WFH today because I didn’t sleep last night and I keep puking. I think work is frustrated and I want to tell them to fuck off. I am too weak to get out of bed - I should not be driving a car or coming into an office when it’s this bad and I can do 98% of my work from bed. Trust me, I wouldn’t be in bed stuck at home if I didn’t have to be.
@kayjay44 I’m sorry you’re having such a rough go this time around. I know with two littles at home to take care of too how effing brutal constant sick and tired can be. Tell work to kiss it, man.
@cmjenkies UGH when it rains is freaking pours, I am so sorry - things will definitely get better, we're all rooting for you (and the prescriptions help too, duh).
@kayjay44 I'm sorry things have been so rough, lady. I hope you get a chance to rest and work gets off your back.
Speaking of feeling pregnant, symptoms and the feeling huge definitely have ramped up in the last week or so. Back is killing me and I am in full waddle mode. Also I went to a potluck last weekend (sorry midwesterners but I hate potlucks and I always will) and someone said to me "wow it seems like you have been pregnant FOREVER ha ha ha!" and I responded "well, it's been 28 weeks so I guess that's a pretty long time, but I still have 12 to go" and someone else said "Wow 40 weeks, that's amazing!" as if I'm the first pregnant human who will gestate a baby for 40 weeks...Why do people speak? How am I even supposed to talk to these idiots?
@eggsandwich2019 someone said to me today “my god you got so big and you have so long to go”. Oh am I? I still have long to go? I havent noticed either of those things but thanks for letting me know. Come on, I hate socializing with people as it is, don’t say stuff just to talk to me. I’m good if you keep walking and don’t acknowledge me.
I’m babysitting a 2 year old little girl today. She is FIESTY. It’s pretty awesome. DD is more than twice her size and is most definitely not the alpha in this situation. 😂
@cmjenkies rain before the awesome rainbow and happiness?!? That is my hope for you. Karma is coming and it's going to be awesome for you and rain terror on your ex/his whatever!!
@BourbonBiscuits yes to NICU- we were there and while it was scary and unexpected, we also learned a ton our regular nurse would not have taught us. (I was trying really hard to find the good in the situation).
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
Feeling like the worlds biggest asshole for complaining about literally anything in my life/symptoms reading what you girls are going through @cmjenkies@kayjay44. If there were a shittiest pregnancy award, you two would win for sure.
But let’s be honest - I’m gonna complain anyway lol.
Someone at work corrected me when I said my due date. “Oh you mean January 8th, right? You’re way too big to be due in February” No bitch, I mean February 8th
I’ve thrown up 4 times today alone. I’m over this shit. My stomach and throat hurt and I’m just hungry. I probably need fluids but I’m honestly not sure I should be driving.
At at least I got the one thing I had to get done today for work done and can rest for the remainder of the day. I’ve spent most of my day reading stories of other women with HG and crying because it just sucks so bad.
Fuck, IDK. I’m trying to get them to realize that I’m trying to avoid getting out on early medical leave (or bed rest) or going into labor early, having a NICU baby, and requiring a ton of extra time off that work is not prepared for.
Plus side, I just kept down four crackers by taking a two hour nap. Doesn’t mean they won’t come up, but that’s the longest I’ve kept something down in days.
I agree @kayjay44 and @cmjenkies you guys have both had it so rough. I’m not sure I would be alive.
took dd to this Santa workshop tonight. She got to make a toy with an elf then get a picture with Santa. Mrs Claus asked when I was due and then said oh my you still have a while. Thanks for that
@BourbonBiscuits girl, misery loves company, so please let the big complaints and minor inconveniences coming! Makes me feel like I’m not manipulating all of the bad news space on the thread!
I'm pretty sure I've had BHs this evening and it's kind of blowing my mind. It's basically thing #582 that has made me go holy cow this is actually real. But every one of those little things has been as wild as the last one. FTM experience, I assume?
Re: Weekly Randoms 12/3 - 12/7
@BourbonBiscuits I like that idea on the early labor thread!

@kayjay44 - work can suck it! You are wfh, you bust your ass for them, what more do they want?
@kayjay44 I agree that work can suck it! You take care of you the best you can. Sorry you aren’t catching any breaks from this pregnancy.
