@DuchessOfCambridge my doc said the same. When I was bleeding with the SCH the first thing they asked is whether I'd taken tylenol or was using a heating pad and then said not to after I'd confirmed I hadn't yet. My PCP told me to avoid hot baths, etc. when we talked about trying to get pregnant - basically the only thing she told me.
@mrskoz428 I'm sure your doctor knows where your uterus is so if they said it was okay, all good. Just make sure you keep checking with them on it because eventually, the uterus will reach there. The further along you get, the less damage the heat can cause, but once it's close enough to raise the temperature *near* the baby, repeated use I would expect wouldn't be advised. I had horrible RLP (different as it's by nature right by the uterus) and at 6 months, had a spell where I was basically in tears from the pain. My OB said 10 mins on, 20 mins off with the heating pad as needed on the lowest setting with a towel wrapped around it but no more than that and to stop as soon as I thought I could. Just make sure you're in communication with your doctor while using it.
My headache is gone! I was symptom free today, pretty much. It was weird, but very welcome since I was out of the house most of the day. Though obviously that also make me nervous. No winning.
I'm miserable. Headache is off and on but not terrible. But I'm exhausted and feel blah and have so much to do with the house but I've barely home because DS had therapy and now we're home long enough to eat before going to babysit. This was the worst week for her babysitter to go out of town.
@eatinwatermelonseeds oh no Have you thought of trying fioricet? My OB recommended that next if Tylenol doesn't work but she was like, if you already don't like taking Tylenol, you probably won't like something stronger haha. I will consider it if the migraines continue to last for a day or two even with Tylenol, because that's ridiculous. Another woman in my BMB also mentioned that Tylenol stays in your body longer than stronger medicine so that might affect baby's exposure? Idk, both are safe in pregnancy, my OB said I could take up to 8 Tylenol per day. That just seems like a lot. Yesterday I took four I'm going to give the magnesium a shot for a few weeks though and see how it works!
I'm getting a little concerned. I am thinking about calling my doctor tomorrow. It is probably just swelling, but the past few days I've felt like there's something in my vagina. Like, you know that feeling when you have a tampon in and it's kind of coming out as you pee? That's how it feels. Like, I've actually put my hand there in fear something was coming out. I know all about prolapses, however, I don't really know how to differ between something actually poking out, and just being really swollen. I feel ridiculous if it's just swelling, but I could use the peace of mind.
I am pretty sure I felt the baby move for the first time today. I have an anterior placenta this time, so I honestly wasn't expecting anything until past 20 weeks as I didn't feel DD until 18/19 weeks and she had a posterior placenta. But I was reading stories with DD and she was sitting on my lap (aka crushing her sibling), and I definitely felt a few little taps. Little bug must not have liked big sis encroaching on her space! Oh, the sweet beginnings of sisterly fights
@eatinwatermelonseeds have you tried a mirror? But really, if it feels off to you it’s better to be safe than sorry and just see a doctor. I’m sure they won’t think you’re being silly. Also, I took DD2 in to see the on-call Dr today on a gut instinct that she may have a UTI. I have no idea why my mind went to this, I have never had one and neither has either of the girls, so it’s not like I was even aware of the real signs to watch for in my specific kids. The symptoms were minimal and probably undetectable to anyone else and I was second guessing myself all day, especially during the 2 hours we waited to see the doctor because I didn’t want to wait until Friday afternoon for an appt. By the time we got in and I started explaining my suspicions to the Dr I felt ridiculous and was sure he was about to tell me my 3yo was just being a 3yo and come back when she was actually sick. BUT, my gut was right and she totally did have a UTI. So sometimes you really just have to follow your gut
@mcewen3 there's like 90% of me that thinks it's just swelling, but that 10% isn't quite certain what else it could be. It's probably more worry than anything. I don't recall feeling this with my first, so it's strange. And he feels really low. If I push on my stomach, I feel him hit my cervix. I think I'll just send her an email and see if she wants me to come in.
@llhfreedom Yes- I have a few fibroids and where they are located makes a huge difference on whether it would impact the baby. My biggest one which is like 3 cm is actually growing on the outside of my uterus. I had a few smaller ones growing inside that didn’t effect my pregnancy with DD. I also had 2 MCs so I was freaked out by the diagnosis.. Here is a good article for you to read https://americanpregnancy.org/womens-health/fibroid-tumors/
Drs usually make note of your fibroids on the ultrasound bc it could impact your health in other ways as your uterus expands. For instance a fibroid growing on the outside of your uterus could cause you a lot of pain or bowel issues. If your Dr isn’t worried, it’s more likely it’s an incidental finding to just be aware of if you have issues down the road and will have no effect on the baby.
@llhfreedom I dont really have much expierence but, I was told I had a 6cm fibroid around 9 weeks then a couple weeks later there was no sign of it. So either it shrunk or it was never there 🤷🏼♀️
@chloe97 Thank you for sending the link! I will take a look at it. It does help hearing that it happens to other people and that things turned out okay. When they first tell you, you kind of start to think the worst and worry about it!
@eatinwatermelonseeds I have that same feeling sometimes. I have also been having occasional soreness in my vagina/cervix (like a feeling of irritation).
Crazy new symotom just started...I haven’t seen it on here yet. My nipples are leaking a clear fluid, like a lot of it! I was putting lotion on my breasts (they are super itchy from growing) and a ton of clear fluid came out of my nipples and was dripping down my boob and stomach! What is this?!?!? Lol.
@mrskoz428 colostrum! Welcome to pregnancy and motherhood! 😂 Mine never fully went away after DS, but it's so much worse now. I could probably feed a newborn.
I feel so shitty today. I'm tired, I feel sick, and it's just affecting my mood to the point where I have zero desire to do anything. And then I feel like a terrible mom, I feel my duties piling up and nothing getting done. I just need a maid. And movers. And a nanny. And a really really long nap.
@mrskoz428 thanks. I need to just take a shower and push myself. But I have no energy at all 😭 my son is the sweetest boy in the world and he just brought me yogurt and is just chilling in bed with me until I pick myself up and get my shit together ♥️
He just decided he wanted to look in my mouth and was holding my jaw open as I was laughing hysterically. He was going "steadyyyy, steadyyyyy" and I was just losing it. Between that and Pokemon battles, this guy is seriously my reason for living. I don't know what I did to deserve him ♥️😭
Time to get my ass up and shower, go get craft stuff for a birthday card for his ABA therapist (can't really buy her anything), pick up groceries, and do some cleaning/packing.
So this colostrum talk is making me think that's why my boobs might have grown a little. I haven't tested and don't really want to haha but I definitely didn't experience this until late third tri last time! Or maybe, I just didn't test it out until late third tri last time.
@DuchessOfCambridge I have to squeeze it out sometimes because the pressure is too much. That might be tmi, but it's so painful I have to do something.
@eatinwatermelonseeds I haven't gotten to that point yet! I just noticed mine were slightly bigger than before and a few times had some discomfort that I associate with breastfeeding. And update: just decided to test it. Totally have colostrum all up in here too.
ETA I'm sure you know this already but just be careful to not express too much since it can cause contractions 🙂
@DuchessOfCambridge I haven’t tried either but my boobs started hurting SO MUCH at the beginning of the second tri. It feels like when I was breastfeeding and went way too long without nursing or pumping, like I need to relieve some pressure. I don’t remember this happening last pregnancy — although I guess I wouldn’t have been familiar with feeling engorged back then. It’s so annoying!
@DuchessOfCambridge oh, I know. I'm not like full on expressing lol usually just squeeze a little out and then move on with my life a little more comfortable.
Oh wow, I only actively leaked from one side while pregnant with DD but never tried to express. She's down to 2 feedings a day during the week and 3-4 on weekends so I've been wondering when it'd switch over to colostrum. I stopped leaking around 11 months (lived in breast pads which I still wear sometimes because the reusable ones are so comfy IMO) and haven't started leaking again.
@DuchessOfCambridge@kvh22 I was changing out of my pajamas to put lotion on when I saw little clear bubbles on both nipples. I dried them off, started putting lotion on and BOOM, full on dripping! I’m mean, I’m a FTM, never breastfed or anything. I have gone up two full cup sizes already, though, so that may have something to do with it.
Thankfully, I haven't started leaking yet, but you have made me realize i need to be prepared with pads for when it happens.
Fatigue is still my biggest problem. I am so exhausted on the weekends that I can get anything done. I basically slept all day yesterday. Shouldn't my energy level be increasing by now?
@lappymom2019 I'm with you! However I'm also crashing some weeknights after dinner. I fall asleep on the couch etc. Weekends I need naps. I feel better overall and that I have more energy during the day but it catches up to me as well. I blame it on my job, which is active and always a bit intense.
@bgdwg It probably is job related! I don't have an active job but it is exhausting and stressful. It has been taking all of my energy to just make it through a functional day at work so by the time I am home I have nothing left and need the weekends to recover .
Is anyone have sciatica or numbness down their inner thigh? I’ve been trying stretching and not sitting for too long (nearly impossible with my desk job) but wondering if there are other techniques to try.
@mrskoz428 that's crazy! I never had that with my first and I only started leaking that way when I was actively nursing. Maybe this means you'll have a really good supply! I keep reading that it's better second time around so I'm hoping that's true for me!
@DuchessOfCambridge I may send a quick message to the nurses just because everything I’ve seen says late third trimester, so it does make me a bit nervous, but I mean, my boobs are huge for me, so it does all add up. Better safe than sorry!
