Re: Symptoms 11/20

  • @DuchessOfCambridge Words cannot say how jealous I am over that! My hair is super thin and gets oily in no time. I long for being able to go days without washing it, and it still looking fine! Super lucky!

  • @DuchessOfCambridge I've been loving my pregnancy hair and have noticed the same thing about washing (but going 3 days). I have really fine hair and I just love how wonderful it's been lately!

@mcewen3 @kvh22 my heart rate just from walking from the waiting room to my doctors office was 119! Like, what the hell! That’s crazy high! It’s 88 right now and I’ve been sitting for a good 10 minutes or so.

@eatinwatermelonseeds my body hates me for the positions I have to sleep I’m pregnant. I’m normally a belly sleeper, which hasn’t been an option for a while now. My hips and thighs kill me and my neck has been completely out of wack causing killer headaches!

@DuchessOfCambridge @knarlytaurus my hair is a lot thicker than normal and isn’t as frail (it actually stays in my head) but my oil production is off the charts! I used to be able to wash my hair every other day but my hair looks so greasy after just one day! I’m kind of bummed about it.

  • @mrskoz428 I still sleep on my stomach. I don't remember ever reaching a point last time that I didn't. I would just put my leg up high. Right now it's the best way to feel little nudges so I really love to do it when he hasn't been super active. But yeah, I'm just in so much pain. I can't move my leg certain ways or else it kills. I swear I keep pulling something, but I don't do anything so I have no idea how 😂 My head is killing me right now and I'm babysitting my friend's 3 kids. I'm not going to say how they're doing though because I'll jinx it 😂
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I was thinking the same thing. I still lay on my stomach when I'm trying to get comfortable although I'm a side sleeper so I never fall asleep on my stomach.

Are you watching 4 kids whose names begin with "C?" Good luck!

  • @kvh22 I am, have I mentioned this before? 😂
  • @megsb615 don't be too jealous, I would LOVE to be able to just wash my hair and go. It takes me so long to do it! I've already decided I'm getting a keratin treatment after this baby is born to decrease straightening time with two kids.

@eatinwatermelonseeds oh man, you're lucky. I would get light headed and generally feel miserable if I ended up sleeping in my stomach. It would wake me up in the middle of the night! I always felt better pretty much immediately after changing positions

  • @DuchessOfCambridge you know, I have heard that a lot with sleeping on the back, but never the belly. But that's good, that's your body's way of telling you it's time to turn over. People get SO paranoid about losing their baby if they don't sleep on their left side at all times, but your body warns you if it's dangerous. I just sleep however I can and listen to my body.

Okay, off my soapbox 😂 I'm sure this topic will come up later on, so I figured it can't hurt to address it now that you mention it lol.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds it was totally my back, I spaced and thought it was belly  :D I'm not a belly sleeper anyway so I didn't have any belly issues. But yes, agree! I would be on my back for like a minute and wake up needing to change positions.

  • I have never, while pregnant, had a headache that Tylenol couldn't kick. I've taken so many (don't judge, it hurts and it's still a safe limit 😩) and it's not going away. I'm miserable.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I am right there with you. All the hugs, all the solidarity. I'm trying not to take another but I might cave shortly, it's so awful.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge ugh I'm sorry you have to deal with this too. I have no idea how I'm going to get anything done today. My house is a disaster area, I have to go prove to the mortgage company that I'm retired because no one believes me 😂, I have to make an appointment for a follow up inspection, pick stuff up from the office, pack, take my kid to the doctor for his well child. My car is in dire need of cleaning, but the odds of that happening today are slim. Pretty sure I'm going to drop off my DD214 at the mortgage company and then come home and sleep 😂 but I have goals nonetheless.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds thankfully I have nothing pressing today. We have two EI appointments but they come to us so at least I don't have to leave. I'm supposed to go to a moms night out tonight but I may have to cancel.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge I have to take my son to ABA this morning too. I'm pretty sure I'm not far away from throwing up. I feel horrible. 😩
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds bring a bag with you! I threw up in my hand this morning and then ran to the kitchen sink to finish because it was closest. So disgusting.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge just threw up right as I posted that. I'm going to bring a bag with me to his appointment and I'm not going to do parent training today. I can't. I swear this baby already has a "go big or go home" attitude. DS made me nauseous, this guy makes me vomit. DS gave me headaches, this guy gives me migraines. Can we just stop there please? I'm terrified to see the rest of this pregnancy unfold.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds @DuchessOfCambridge have you ever tried using peppermint oil for headaches?  Peppermint wasn't on my midwives' list of oils to avoid, but most of the info I've found suggests that it should be used with a carrier oil rather than neat.  I've always found a little dab of peppermint on my temples makes a world of difference for a headache.

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds omg YES, I had such a smooth pregnancy with DS and then he came out the chillest baby that I'm like this kid is going to be a handful  :D

@mcewen3 I have not tried oils for anything but at this point I may out of desperation. I just started taking magnesium yesterday but it takes a while to build up in the body, I think.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge we aren't religious oil users, but I do like to diffuse some around the house now and then.  I tried peppermint for a headache at the suggestion of a friend a couple years ago and its amazing how quickly it works.  It also worked to draw a fever out of DD2 when Advil and Tylenol wouldn't bring it down, so I keep it on hand at all times now.

  • I've never tried peppermint oil. I think I have some somewhere but I recall reading something that said to avoid it. I'll have to research again.

@DuchessOfCambridge honestly, I thought I had it bad with DS in pregnancy and after he was born was hell. I'm really really hoping that instead of being worse after, this baby will be my unicorn baby.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds how's your headache? Mine is still going strong :(

  • @DuchessOfCambridge if I sit and do nothing, I'm good. If I lay down or stand up I'm in pain. I've accomplished nothing except I brought my DD214 to the mortgage company. We're on the last leg of the process for loan approval 😬😬😬
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds good luck!! Aside from keeping DS alive and meeting with EI, I too have done nothing productive today.

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds is it possibly a sinus headache? I am super prone to them and nothing will touch them but decongestants.

  • @sleepy33 I think mine is constipation, too! My left side hurts so much. It feels like my kidney area but I think it’s just my large intestine. My uterus is offset and favors the left side of my body (my a lot; baby is chilling out by my left hip bone, not that center). I think that’s causing this constipation to feel really painful. I’ve found that a warmed rice pack helps my the pain of the conscription as well as heating up my bowels to get some movement going!

  • @mrskoz428 Im jealous of your hot rice pack, my OB said no hot water bottles or heating pads near uterus 😭 I'm sure it's one of those overly cautious things where it's bad after a certain length of time but fine with limited use, and she just tells everyone no to avoid people bring stupid, but I'm too chicken to go against her 😆

  • But for real, I could use a heat pack for constipation for sure.

  • I'm having the opposite problem 💩🙈
  • @DuchessOfCambridge it’s not near my uterus, at least I don’t think. It’s only mid-back, off to the left so that it’s practically on my side. It’s above my belly button and I know baby hasn’t gotten big enough to reach there yet. I mean, if I am allowed to take a bath in warm water, I think it’s safe to use a rice pack for 10 minutes. I make sure it’s warm enough to feel comfort but cool enough that I can put it on my bare skin with ease.

  • @mrskoz428 oh I see, in that case I should really try it!

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds @DuchessOfCambridge I hope your headaches are cleared up! And good luck on your VA loan! We had to sign a gazillion papers for the VA loan at our closing, but it all went smoothly. Good luck!

Hello all! Hope everyone had a good day today. Sorry to hear about the headaches for some of the ladies here - ouch. 😥 I wanted to share that after eating a cinnamon roll this evening (yes...needed to treat myself after an 11hr work day), baby decided to party! Flutters all over and a few distinct jabs! It was amazing and lasted about 5 minutes. Is anyone else feeling the baby yet? I'm a FTM and amazed I'm feeling it so early. It started during week 15 but now I'm 16 + 1 I think and it's getting a bit more distinct. I feel like I am starting to bond a bit which is amazing....this was a surprise pregnancy for me and DH so I was nervous I might have a hard time bonding because of the shock.

Guys I am the worst hypochondriac. Still have a headache, and just got a weird bout of vertigo and my neck still has that kink and I think I've convinced myself I have a brain tumor 🤦‍♀️😂 warning: don't go to nursing school if you're a hypochondriac.

ETA: this was a joke, I don't actually think it's anything serious 🙈 I just was freaking out since it's just been one thing after another today lol.
  • @bgdwg I thought I felt a little flutter last night but it was only for a few seconds and didn't happen again. I am a FTM so I have no idea, but I cannot wait until I can tell for sure it is the baby!
  • @bgdwg yep! Baby was using my bladder as a trampoline last night! French dip for dinner or my chili from lunch must have pissed LO off. I was up for 2 hours! I almost solely feel flutters and kicks at night, though. During the day, it’s just baby in a bad spot that causes twinges of pain or discomfort. Cannot wait until it’s more frequent and obvious!

@eatinwatermelonseeds I knew it was a joke! My dad is the same way. Anytime something hurts, he’s convinced he has a “touch of cancer”. Knee cancer, eyeball cancer, toe cancer. 😂

We just had our 16 week u/s and my doctor said that I have a 2cm fibroid.  He told me not to be concerned, but with our history of miscarriages etc. its hard not to be.  Has anyone else been told this or had experience with fibroids in the past?
  • @bgdwg STM here and I felt baby a ton last night and again this morning for the first time this pregnancy. I didn't feel it until at least 18 weeks (maybe later, I can't quite recall) with my first and I'm kind of like "wow, how did I miss this?" They say STMs will feel it earlier but I think that's partly/mostly just because it's hard to discern between "gas bubbles" and the movement so you totally could be able to feel it. This also didn't feel like gas bubbles last night but my abs might still be much weaker from last pregnancy, too.
