@mermaidca I certainly hope so. I get hangry and that b will stand for bitch extraordinaire if I have to wait till I get home to eat. The only good part about it is I’m only working a half day but I have to drive downtown to get to this thing and my car literally started doing a weird thing this morning on the way to work. The universe has hilarious timing.

Is a grey dress appropriate for a funeral? I have one black and one dark grey non maternity dress but the black one fits weird and makes me look super chunky rather than semi pregnant. I’d definitely prefer to wear the grey one but DH thinks black only for funeral. I’m not about to fork out money for a maternity dress when I’m only going to wear it once.
@harveyisaboysname I absolutely think grey is funeral appropriate. I think all neutrals really - as long as you're not showing up in like, neon green spandex I think you're fine.
@kangstadtI’m ALWAYS the one who goes to the couch when we argue! Mostly because DH is so tall. I can easily get comfy on the sofa, but his feet hang over the edge when he lays down.
@mermaidca but it’s his fault you’re awake in the first place! I think waking him up is totally fair.
@thatbaintforbetty I got lucky and I only really snore when I am suuuper tired, like when I came back from vacation jet lagged this summer and slept for thirteen hours. I have to be insanely tired to snore.
It’s okay, yall. I ended up showering and eating breakfast super early, then went to bed and passed out for three and a half more hours. Feeling much better, but also definitely searching for a snoring solution on amazon for DH today.
@harveyisaboysname Absolutely, especially if it’s dark grey. And I second the black accessories. I generally think kids and pregnant woman get a little leeway in the appropriate desss department anyways. It’s much more difficult to find appropriate clothing at the drop of a hat when in those categories.
Like nice-ish black kids clothes in the middle of summer, damn near impossible.

Concur that pregnant ladies get leeway, but grey is okay whenever in my book.
Meanwhile, over here, my washing machine just flooded my bathroom. Replacing the stacked w/d is def not in our budget so I’m hoping it’s just a cracked supply hose or something. I have a very clear memory of being packed in a car with my brother and one parent when we came home to a gas burner leaking, and I’m currently the parent packing DD into her car seat and running tomorrow’s errands to get her out of the way while DH deals with the mess. Wish I could help with shimmying the w/d out of its tiny space but 🤷♀️
My goodness. I cannot look away from that hot mess in BOTB. It's still going. She's so condescending, thinks she's smart because she uses big words where she doesn't need to, and argues every point. I'm infuriated but still so interested.... She's either a major troll who just sits at home doing nothing or she has a pretty serious mental health issue.
Me: 31 H: 36 L & N twin girls: 3yo. Born at 30 weeks. 2 month NICU stay BFP Aug 2018: EDD April 2019
the thing that confuses me most about her is that she is on Maine’s free health care program (doesn’t qualify for Medicaid) yet is also on track to semi-retire in 4 years at age 33 or so. I really really want to know how this is possible (and if I can hop on that gravy train) but don’t really want to wade into that dumpster fire.
@lyse01 everything I've read from her is so contradictory that I doubt she's for real. For someone who claims to be so smart she sure is wasting a lot of time worrying and planning for things that are completely out of her control....and if she is having a psychosomatic pregnancy and ongoing lactation like she claims in the loss board then she should really be getting medical help, both mental and physical, before trying to conceive.
The BOTB post is hysterical but her post in the loss board was too much, so I'm glad it got shut down. The loss board post is what upset a lot of people that are commenting and now the bat signal is out so it will just keep going until she stops replying.
I had a fun time reading through both boards until they got kind of scary and sad. Also, I don’t think this person is real. They CANT possibly be real.
I just booked our airbnb for DH’s birthday trip/babymoon. I scored a really good deal on a great place in a great location, near all of the fun museums and restaurants. My city is 3 hours away from our destination without traffic, so I have a long, bathroom break filled drive there and back to look forward to. Super pumped though!
Hi! I survived Thanksgiving with my in-laws for 4 days (barely). My MIL told my son that pink is for girls though (he loves pink), which I only found out about after the fact or I would have lost it. Ugh.
Im going to be on the struggle bus through the end of the semester, but I’ll try to be in and out. Today was so ridiculously exhausting (teaching, interviewing a job candidate, solo parenting this evening) that I’ve ended up with Braxton Hicks this evening. Luckily kiddo is finally asleep and husband is on his way home. I’m watching TV with my feet up.
@lyse01 oh no!! I hope it’s a quick fix and not too much damage.
@harveyisaboysname I don’t think you have to wear black to a funeral. Subdued colors, yes, but it doesn’t have to be black. Greys, blues, dark green, etc. are all totally fine.
@lilpotatomama, your kitteh is adorable. I love his/her coloring!
@professormama, ugh, I hate those kinds of comments, and they're so much worse when they come from family or people that our kiddos look up to. My FIL has a habit of saying "boys don't cry," or "be a big boy." I try my best to counteract it, but sometimes it feels like us against the world!
So I have a random (and probably TMI) question... My vagina has been feeling kind of uncomfortable today, not exactly painful and no pain when urinating (so I don't think UTI), but feeling odd. The only way I can describe it is the feeling I would sometimes get if I had a tampon in awkwardly or too long, or if DH and I had rough sex the night before. Kinda just noticeable and a bit stretched out/sore feeling. Is this just yet another weird pregnancy symptom or should I consider asking my OB? I just had a checkup last Tuesday and they did a urine test, so nothing weird showed up in that.
@kangstadt thanks! We love our torties. They have a ton of attitude, but they’re so cute and funny. We love that both of our girls have the lines down their noses! ETA to add that I had the same thing, with the EXACT same tampon feeling and ended up having an infection. Took antibiotics for a week, and I feel so much better now. It wouldn’t hurt to get a swab done.
@mermaidca the one currently in my lap is DH’s little princess. She’s absolutely obsessed with him and only pays attention to me when he’s gone. If he’s home, she is constantly next to him or in his lap. She’ll be 4 in March. This is our younger tortie, and she’ll be 2 just in time for her baby sister’s due date! Also, yes, I love my cats a LOT. I actually had someone ask if I’m giving them away before the baby comes and I wanted to scream at them.
@kangstadt vaginal pressure is normal during pregnancy, but if you’re unsure, it never hurts to call and talk to your ob or even get checked out - especially if it persists.
@lilpotatomama do they like to sit on you more now that your pregnant? When DH and I got together he brought along a cat (the first I’ve ever really had) and he has this super special bond with DH. Except when I’m pregnant. Then he likes to lay on me any chance he gets. I don’t get it but I do enjoy the rare snuggles.

All these cat pics are making me miss mine! We had to put ours down last May and this May almost to the day due to illness. They were older (17 & 18). When DS1 was born one of them would lay at my feet while I fed the baby.
DH said he wanted to be pet free for a little while which I’ve agreed to...for now...but I’ve had cats all my life!! My bump name is actually a reference to one of my cats. He had a crazy amount of fluff that I would find all over the floor looking like tumble weeds.
@tumblefluff - I am a dog person but understand the sentiment. I have ALWAYS had a dog. Right after DD was born our dog died and we decided to hold off. It was really hard we waited ~18 months to finally get a new one and she is the best!

@kosmo86 I kept having the boards come up unavailable. Usually happens when the hosting service has issues. It also felt like when it did work, it was taking three times as long to load.
@tumblefluff I am a dog person but this cat is super awesome. DH says he doesn’t want another cat after this one because no cat will ever be like him. Which I get. He’s also sick of litter boxes. It makes me a little sad though cause he’s definitely made me like cats a lot more and would be open to having one in the future.

One of my work friends baked me cookies yesterday because there weren't any in the cafeteria yesterday. Totally made my day. I also ate one before breakfast.
Sorry I've been MIA. Between Thanksgiving break, snow day, potty training (DD, not myself LOL) and then work being crazy, I haven't had much free time.
Question: I woke up last night out of a dead sleep with this sharp aching pain in my lower right back, like it hurt! I sat up and rubbed it, and that helped, and then I felt kind of crampy along with it but the pain in my back was intense!
I have no clue what that could have been. Anyone experience that before? Possibly RLP? I was able to get back to sleep and feel fine this morning but it really freaked me out. Almost felt like something back there was ready to burst or something.
I think we need a pet thread! Mine will be 10 next month. I got them when I was a single, independent woman in my first apartment alone, they've been such a constant in my adult life.

I'm loving the kitty pics. My cat has been obsessively licking me during this pregnancy. I'm borderline allergic, so I have to set some boundaries!
I'm going to explode. After my boss refused my request for part time work, I sought out other options. I've accepted a job offer for a part time gig with way better job, but haven't received it in writing yet. So I'm sitting at work today just thinking about giving my notice and it's causing anxiety and making me feel super shady. I have a feeling a lot of people will be grumpy with me. Oh well! Doing what's right for me, DH, and little man!
@sheknows6 I’ve had a similar pain and it was a knot in my back. Massage (DH or professional) and an Chiro adjustment help.
Im a dog person and have always had one. My baby will be 8 in a couple weeks and I couldn’t imagine my life without a dog. The number one reason I’m not a cat person is because I’m allergic but all your cats are super adorable
@thatbaintforbetty yes! They’re much more cozy with me now that I’m pregnant. I hope they have this same loving attitude with the baby.
I made pancakes, bacon and eggs for lunch today. Tired from cooking but man it was delicious. Especially the bacon. So happy I don’t have an aversion to it anymore.
1 of my cats has been attached to my bump for the past 3 weeks and the other started peeing on H’s shirts. Though the peeing is super gross and upsetting, I do secretly laugh to myself because she is peeing on dirty laundry he leaves on the floor. Seriously though, we need to figure this out stat because I can’t have cat pee anywhere outside the litter box. Grrr.
H kept me up last night with his snoring. He offered to sleep in another room tonight. I read about someone sewing tennis balls to the back of a t shirt and the snoring offender sleeps with it on- to prevent back snoring. I am considering. Do the snore pillows actually work? We have tried breath rights and they work, but H tears them off in his sleep.
I’ve been trying to arrange a weekend in the next couple months to go visit close friends out of state. They *finally* got back to me with their availabilities and of course none of their ‘good’ weekends line up with the others’.
I’m trying to not be a rage ball about it, but this is why I asked two months ago. It’s like they don’t get that it’s going to be very uncomfortable to travel past February, and waaay tougher after April. Work with me, folks!
@thatbaintforbetty - dressing up for clients are the worst especially when pregnant. My last job we had to do that too and I just told them to hide me bc I didn't own any clothes at the point. The company I work for now is a large fortune 500 and we have a very casual dress code now even our president wears jeans!
