Re: Sleep Support Thread
What about a weighted sleep sack? The magic Merlin suit worked wonders for Maeve - helped her learn to sleep from 10p-6a.
Sorry - I hope after the leap sleep stretches longer.
Not going to lie, the first night I was a mess. I dont like him crying when I know I can make it stop. But he cried for 30 mins and slept for 6 hours. I woke him up to feed him at 230 and he slept until 6am. The second night he took only 16 minutes to fall asleep and didn't even cry, just laid there talking to himself. Last night it took about 10 mins. He woke up 2 or 3 times but fell back asleep himself within a few minutes. I feel like a new person after getting some real sleep! Consequently, LO wakes up so much happier and seems actually rested. His naps are starting to settle out although I think he is trying to cut out that third nap.
We put Maeve in footie pajamas and a sleep sack - but I’m wondering if she still needs the sleep sack? I guess it’s her “blanket” - just curious what other mommas are doing.
If I think I've dressed her right but the temp has dropped I put a sleep sack over whatever she's already got on and worry for the rest of the night.
Edit - when can they have blankets?!?
this past week though she is refusing to go to sleep at bedtime. She lays in her crib babbling then crying then babbling some more. Maybe it’s her teeth coming in? The bottom teeth came in almost without us realizing she was teething but the top two are taking their time. I don’t think there’s much more we can do...i’m just venting because I know she’d go right to sleep if we held her but I don’t want to start that bedtime habit. Anyone else having a tough time with sleep because of teeth?
Parenting is funny. I was worried she was sleeping too much - now I’m worried she’s not getting enough sleep 🙄
She hates tylenol so I gave up on it. It did seem to help when I could get it in her. Maybe now that she's tasted a bunch of different foods I'll try again if she's having a really bad day.
