Re: Symptoms 11/20

  • Ugh the dreaded pregnancy cold. I forget what it’s like to be knocked on your ass from a mild cold virus. DD and DH have iyvand both haven’t missed a beat, meanwhile Ive been holed up in bed all day napping. Thank god my ILs are here to help with DD, but given the fact that my 17 month old sneezes on everything that comes her way, I can’t see them lasting too much longer.

  • I seem to have lost all bladder control this week. I pee myself a little every time I laugh, sneeze or cough. Soooo that’s fun.
  • I am finally feeling more human so when I ran out of Unisom I didn't buy more but now I am throwing up again. I hope this is just temporary this week since I am approaching 14 weeks.
  • Feeling better and have more energy now. So thankful! However sore and lightly swollen feet at the end of the day is new and heart burn off and on each day.
  • You guys I’m pretty sure I already started getting Braxton Hicks 😣. They started at 20 weeks with my first pregnancy, and started at 15w this time. I’ve had maybe one per day for the last few days. Ughhhhhh. Also had some hip pain just from  walking around Target, which I didn’t get until 30 weeks with DD. And still having nausea daily. Bleah.

  • @poshspice Ugh!! I’m not looking forward to Braxton Hicks. They are so annoying.

  • @poshspice I'm pretty sure I started getting them around 9-10 weeks 😩 it's not super regular though.
  • @robyn2201 @eatinwatermelonseeds BH are seriously the worst. It’s so weird feeling them in my tiny uterus this time. I was so much bigger when they started last time! I was having BH about once every 45-30 minutes the last week I was pregnant with DD so I didn’t believe I was actually in real labor when it started. I’ll know this time, though! 😅

  • @poshspice I had them from 24 weeks on and from 35-40+5 I was having them daily every 2 minutes. It took a couple hours to know I was in labor lol. It feels the same to me.
  • Headaches. Ugh.

Also at 15 1/2 weeks I suddenly felt like my uterus really expanded and pushed organs up into my ribs. Everything seems like it’s happening so much sooner this time around.
  • Hair loss- I’ve had this my whole pregnancy and right before. I had A miscarriage 2 months before this pregnancy so I’ve been blaming that. MD checked my thyroid and that was normal. Can also be a cause of hair loss.
Nauaea- this season I’m thankful for oral dissolving zofran. Still using about 2x per day to stop from vomiting. 16 weeks now. The nausea Got really bad around 12 weeks
pelvic pressure- i have This fullness in my right lower abdomen/groin. Usually sleep with my knees up and this is so uncomfortable now. Having a hard time getting a comfy position to sleep. Assuming this is the little one nudged in there but hoping he/she finds a new spot soon
  • @brichanelle I had hair loss from right before my first pregnancy until midway through second tri.  The doctors said it’s not unheard of—different people react differently to hormones and hair loss can be something that is a reaction to something that happened a few months ago.  In my case, it was probably the fertility drugs that I used before I got pregnant. In your case sounds like it could be the miscarriage.  Just wanted to empathize because it sucked!  But it stopped eventually!
  • I have bad reflux, which sucks.  My last pregnancy it didn’t kick in until the third tri and I thought it was mainly because one twin was sitting really high up.  This time I have one small 14 week baby so it feels unfair to have to deal with this already...
  • @anonellis that's totally unfair. I got it around 21 weeks last pregnancy (singleton) and am not looking forward to it again. It was definitely my biggest complaint. It sucks it started so early!

It's so weird to me that my boobs are sore now. My cat walked across me and laid a paw down and it made me yelp. Horrible! My nausea has been good today, it'd be awesome if this was a turning point but I keep having a good day here and there followed by terrible days. Approaching 14 weeks so hopefully it'll go away soon.

  • @poshspice I had them from 24 weeks on and from 35-40+5 I was having them daily every 2 minutes. It took a couple hours to know I was in labor lol. It feels the same to me.
@eatinwatermelonseeds I actually had horrific back labor but for some reason chose not to recognize it as actual labor even when my contractions were 5-7 minutes apart. They never became regular, and I think the back labor was preventing me from feeling any pain in my belly, so I figured it would be prodromal labor or some sh*t and dissipate. I'm fully prepared for back labor again, and I'll definitely know it this time!

@DuchessOfCambridge I noticed latent nip pain come on in the last week or two, too. I didn't have any at all in first tri, which was a big symptom for me in my first pregnancy. This second time around is so different! I also will have a good day with nausea followed by horrible days. I am so ready for it to be gone.

  • @poshspice oh wow! I never had back labor, thank goodness, it sounds miserable. I just had the bh like contractions about 1-9pm and then they stopped, I went to sleep, and I woke up in active labor. I didn't know until about 7pm that I was in labor, and by then I was like "I'm not going to the hospital yet, I need sleep" lol.

Me too! It started so early for me as well. The worst.
  • @DuchessOfCambridge @poshspice yes to the nip pain! If I lay on them wrong, they hurt so bad! My boobs have grown two full sizes already, though. I’m sure that’s not helping!

  • Is it too early for the baby to be sitting on something uncomfortable? I have pain radiating up my side/back. It mimics kidney pain and I get it every time I have lower abdominal pain. The triage nurses guessed UTI when I went in for my appendix, gall bladder, and tube on separate occasions but have never actually had a UTI lol. Maybe I need water or have gas or something but man it's freaking uncomfortable.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I’ve been having that for the last week or two. I think it’s a mixture of gas, dehydration, and growing baby, honestly. It feels better when I drink more water.

  • @mrskoz428 thanks, I have a couple bottles I'm working on now. I got up super early with every intention of working out and now I'm laid up on the couch not wanting to move 😭
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I ate breakfast at school today because I couldn’t pull myself out of bed.

  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I don't think it's too early! I thought I was getting a UTI a couple weeks ago, and they checked me and no UTI, my nurse practitioner said it was probably the way the baby was positioned and that baby and bladder were probably competing for space until the uterus rises up more.

  • Anyone else still have a really sore chest? I wake up in soo much pain every morning. It dissipates throughout day but it could be because I have the support of a bra
  • Has anyone noticed their bump getting SMALLER?! I am 16 weeks now and I noticed it's not as hard and a bit smaller than last week. I googled (of course) and sounds like its bloat going away. So weird tho!

@anonellis Reflux was my first pregnancy symptom. I've had it on and off since week 4. Mostly at night. Now I sleep with a few pillows so I'm sitting up a little. It does suck!! :(
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds that's awful! Hope the little bub takes it easy on you soon. Sounds sore.

@DuchessOfCambridge @poshspice @willmisspumpkinbeer I've had more chest soreness and nip pain in the last two weeks than the entire first trimester. Eeek. The girls don't need to get bigger :( 36DD is big enough, thank you very much. 😂😂
  • My boobs haven't grown at all, they just hurt  :D They didn't grow last time either. The only time they got bigger was while I was nursing.

@poshspice ugh, I didn't have back labor but it sounds so awful. My back killed by the end of my last pregnancy which I had a hard time handling, and that was only like, a taste of what back labor is like.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge my nipples are super sensitive, like the brush of a towel after a shower just about made me yelp, but the general boob tenderness has dissipated.  My boobs are gigantic right now.  I don't need a maternity coat for my belly, but I kind of do for my boobs.  I really have to squeeze them in if I zip my winter coat up, so I'm going to be shopping Cyber Monday sales for a different coat to get me through this winter.
Oddly enough, once my milk came in and after I past that initial engorgement phase, my boobs were smaller than they were pre-pregnancy.  Not by a lot, but a little bit.  Still plenty of milk, but they were WAY smaller than my pregnancy boobs.

  • @mcewen3 I am a proud member of the IBTC so I think having ANY milk in them at all made them grow because they couldn't handle it  :D

@DuchessOfCambridge my boobs haven't gotten bigger at all either. My rib cage has expanded like crazy already. I'm living in stretchy nursing bras right now lol. My regular bras are too tight and make my nausea worse. Back labor was intense pain across my lower back and lasted the duration of each contraction. I was so thankful for that epidural  :D

  • I walked the track during DD2's skating today.  I was also watching her as I went around and had DD1 with me so I wasn't power walking with the same speed and consistency as I did on Friday, yet today I got a horrible headache and my heart rate went sky high.  I could still speak and carry out a normal conversation, so I wasn't winded or anything, the only reason I even knew my heart rate was up was because I was wearing my Fitbit. As soon as I stopped moving my heart rate dropped a fair bit, but even now (we've been home for an hour) its close to 20bpm faster than my usual resting HB.  I feel mostly normal aside from a bit of a dull headache but it kind of freaked me out.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge I'm still BFing but my boobs haven't grown at all (and to @mcewen3's point, they are smaller than they were before although DD was a big eater until ~10 months so they were *huge* up to that point). My nipples have been a lot more sensitive when breastfeeding (happened for a week towards the beginning but calmed down until lately).

@mcewen3 I felt like my heart was racing a few days ago so I took my pulse (on a blood pressure cuff  I have from last pregnancy). It was 89 then but hovers around 80 right now, which is definitely higher than pre-pregnancy.

  • @bgdwg Mine hasn’t gotten smaller but I have certainly noticed it wasn’t growing as fast for a while. Bloat going away and bump growing made the bump look the same size from about 12-now.

  • I envy those of you whose breasts aren't growing. I started big this time, 38DD and they're just getting bigger. And painful.

Is anyone having issues with muscle... Pulling? I don't know what's happening. If I just turn my head (not hard or fast) my neck kinks and hurts so bad for days. My muscles are restless. Like that feeling you get in your legs but all over my body. I've now pulled or strained or something my inner thigh (don't be dirty 😉😂) and it's really hurting and affecting my butt and lower back.
  • @kvh22 the weird thing was I didn't feel like it was racing.  I just checked my step count and then the next option was heart rate.  It was 179 bpm!  It was 118 bpm when I was walking on Friday.  Resting has been around 80 bpm this pregnancy (I lost my Fitbit for a while so I'm not really sure if that's higher than pre-preg, but I have heard its normal to be a bit higher than your usual during pregnancy).  I'm still hovering well over 90 now, between 93 and 98.  I don't think thats dangerous so I'm not super concerned about it but I keep remembering back to my delivery with DD1 and while I felt fine everyone was in a panic over my heart rate and how it wouldn't come back down after delivery.  They had to give me meds for it and monitor me for 24 hrs.

  • @mcewen3 yea, 20bpm higher than pre-pregnancy for resting is normal. 179 does seem high. I wonder if it was a glitch with the fitbit, though?

  • @kvh22 It totally could be. But I kept an eye on it when I sat down and it definitely counted down as my HB slowed.  It didn't take a long time to get down to around 110, but it didn't happen instantly either.  Its obviously not like that anymore, but I'm aware of it now and plan to keep a closer watch on it and bring it up with my doctor if I notice it happening more frequently.

  • @fatmonica I feel like my hair has also been thinning some. I’m changing up shampoo and conditioner to see if maybe that helps. I don’t remember this happening with DS until about 4m postpartum. 😩

@anonellis I feel for you on the bad reflux. I had it terribly with DS from the beginning, and finally started taking Zantac 150 in my 3rd trimester, and it helped. I’ve already had it a little bit in this pregnancy too. It really is miserable.

  • @kvh22 mine went back down after I stopped nursing. No idea if they are smaller than before because they were small to begin with :D

A happy symptom - I have that awesome pregnancy hair again! I missed it. It's kind of weird though, I can go over a week without washing my hair and it is not greasy at ALL. I usually go 3 days when not pregnant, 4 if I've run out of time but it does nottt look good. I tested how long it could look good over Thanksgiving since we were away and I didn't want to deal with washing plus 40 min blow dry plus 40 min straightening. I washed it Saturday night when we got back and it wasn't even greasy  :o It's just weird! I love this symptom but it's weird! Last time I ended up washing my hair more often just because I felt like I should haha
