Re: Product spotlight maternity clothes

  • I was due in February last time and I never needed a maternity coat. My old coat had some room in it and if I needed a bigger one I just planned on stealing one of my husband's extras. I'd hold off an a maternity coat until you're sure you need it.
Oh I'm a big fan of stealing my husband's coat.  Thanks!

  • @tsa208 super cute!!!! I am so a person who needs to try everything on. And debate lots. Lol. I wouldn't trust myself to like stuff from a box.
  • I’m plus size and 5’3, I don’t really need any maternity clothes yet but I got some tops and leggings online on clearance - super happy with the motherhood secret panel cropped leggings. Nice fabric and I love the panel! Not sure I can go back to regular leggings ever again, lol. Also living in lularoe solid black leggings. While I don’t have a visible bump, i’m so bloated I don’t want anything tight against my stomach right now. Target online, motherhood, and pink blush maternity all have decent plus size sections - haven’t ordered from pink blush yet.
  • With my first I wasn't in Maternity cloths until 13 weeks. This time around I started wearing them today (7/8 weeks)! All of a sudden this weekend I was shocked how I was showing. It like my body suddenly remembered its pregnancy shape and changed over night. I tried going up 1 and 2 sizes in my regular cloths, but even though they were baggy in the legs, they were tight around the waist, so I pulled out the old preggo pants and bella band.

Since I broke down and started wearing Maternity cloths, I took advantage of tat 15% off offer bumps get at motherhood. Zulilly is also a go to for me for all manner of clothing.

  • I like Old Navy too. Last pregnancy someone from my Feb 18 group gave me a few pairs of H&M maternity pants that were great, I just needed to size up from my normal size b/c they seem to be made smaller than Old Navy. I tried Walmart maternity jeans and wasn't a fan. The band was nice but the pants sagged in the butt and inner thigh so they were comfy but not flattering at all. ThredUp has alot of gently used Old Navy and other brand maternity clothes so that is an option for anyone looking to spend less. BellaBand didn't really work for me, but I am short and petite (only 4'10'') so maybe that's why. I also stocked up on yoga pants. We have 5below stores here, which sell stuff for $5 or less and they have comfy yoga pants.yoga leggins for $5 a pop.

Does anyone know of any offers for free maternity clothes? I haven't come across any but I figured this would be a great spot to post if anyone has found a deal.
  • Hey ya'll, I'm bringing this back up to the top. A few weeks ago I was feeling overwhelmed by trying to find maternity clothes, I was going through that awkward in between phase and my MS was terrible so I felt like I just wanted to live in PJs. I signed up for StitchFix maternity. I was really excited by my first box! I'm really glad that I signed up for this. I think I like the fact that I didn't need to make decisions about what to pick out and I can just try them on. I know I just basically explained what StitchFix is, but I feel like maternity clothes are hard for me and this was just so much easier and helpful. I definitely recommend it! At a minimum, you could reserve it just to get some really special one-off pieces.
  • @chrssyms I didn’t know StitchFix did maternity! The thought of maternity clothes has been stressing me out, but things are getting tighter so I know I’ll need to acquire some shortly! I’ll definitely look into that. I like not having to pick out my clothes. Bumping this also reminded me I need to buy a Bella band because wearing my work pants the other day was downright uncomfortable.
  • One of my girlfriends bought the entirety of her maternity clothes at Goodwill. She said the ones in nicer parts of town often have a full maternity section?! (The Kohl's near us doesn't even really have that...) She moved to another state, but will be back over Christmas so we're hitting her old GW Fashions spots while she's in town...but it's something to consider, even if it means a bit of a drive!
  • @ki1244 I’ve bought quite a bit of maternity clothes at Goodwill! I’d definitely suggest buying a few pieces that you really want new, then buying extra shirts, dresses, etc. at a thrift store. It’s way cheaper for clothes you’ll only wear a few times, and you can find clothes that have barely been worn in the maternity sections.
  • So far i have spent 140 bucks on used maternity clothes including winter jacket and 120 on new stuff. Co worker donated some used pants to me but i think i will need to find another pair or two for work since not all the ones fit. 100%buy what you can used.
