I have my glucose test tomorrow. Finally. Supposed to get my tdap while I'm there and make all the rest of my appointments while I'm there also. I'm hoping I don't have to do anything else but she made it sound like it's a whole workup... Guess tomorrow will tell. Hope my 3 year old will be occupied enough with her leapfrog and not running all around the doctors office.
so I went to do my GTT this morning. Drank the drank (orange) -- not too terrible. Have a checkup while waiting the hour, baby sounds good, etc. Get TDAP. They take blood for the tests, a little extra bc I have to have my thyroid and iron levels rechecked... and then I barfed all over the lab and passed out. Yay for me. Of course they were nice about it, but man, really glad I don't have to go into the office spotted with barf!

Oh no! That's terrible.
I'm doing the same thing right now. Guess mine is a whole workup though, minus a pee test? Not sure what they're checking.. maybe my cervix? Seems a little early for that .. and early for strep b test?... no clue, but waiting patiently for doctor... I feel like it's going to be rushed with her because I have to be to the lab in 20 min for the blood draw. Fun stuff.
@saltedcaramel518 FX it's nothing. A lady on one of my other boards had the same thing and she opted for an amnio - came back completely fine so it was just a normal variation. Hopefully your appointment with the MFM goes well.
@wkuandrea Oh no! At least you barfed AFTER the blood draw and not before or they'd make you redo it! Silver lining??? Hope you're feeling better now.
Had a regular OB appointment today. Last growth u/s was completely fine so I don't need anymore! Baby is measuring in 55th percentile and estimated to be just over 3.5 lbs (although I don't totally trust the accuracy of weight measurements). FHR was 147 and I forgot to ask what my BP and fundal height were but OB just carried on after measuring so I guess they were normal. Got my flu shot. Start going every two weeks now and have an NST and BPP before each appointment to make sure things are on track since I had a low PlGF result in my 1st tri screening. Things are about to get busy!

That's all great news, @tosh24! YAY! And you're correct -- when I came to I said "does this mean I failed?" The ladies in the lab have dealt with me many times over my journey, so, I was glad to hear that it isn't an automatic failure. Lord help us all if I have to do the 3hr test.
@VallieS86 that's weird they're doing all of that workup and not checking pee... they always check pee! Good luck, hopefully you fare MUCH better than me.
Thank you @AshVA I do recall quite a few of us failed the 1 hr but I haven't seen anyone come back with a failed 3 hr. I'm really hoping this is me too! I'm not a Dieter!!
@molosmiles I failed my early 1hr at 21 weeks. Passed my 3 hour with flying colors. It’s so boring and made me feel yucky for the first couple of hours. Definitely bring things to entertain while you’re there!
@tosh24 ah! Congrats on graduating from growth scans. That’s fantastic.
I has my 30 week OB appointment followed by my 30 week growth scan last Tuesday.
My OB is moving to her own private practice so it was my last appointment with her in my usual office. It gave me all of the feels and anxiety. My appointment this upcoming Tuesday is in a new office in a town I hate having to drive to. But I’m excited for the opportunities it’s bringing my OB. All of that is basically to say that most of my appointment was just talking about the logistics of the move! New hospital so I need to do a tour. We also talked about my c-section date which is likely to be January 2nd!
Growth scan went well. Baby girl was measuring 50-60th percentile at over 3.5lbs. My next growth scan is at 36 weeks!

@molosmiles that totally sucks. Good luck with the 3 hour!
@wkuandrea Yeah my doc is a little weird and does things totally different than my old doctor. She wrote in my notes to call the hospital if "the bag of water breaks" lol? Such a strange way of putting it. I did pass my test though. Did you end up passing? I hope you did so you don't have to go through that again!
I passed my 2hr glucose test after failing the 1hr. I don't know why it was 2hrs instead of 3hrs but I'll take it. On the down side, I am anemic. I started taking more iron which I hope will help and so far hasn't constipated me yet. Fingers crossed for everyone taking their second glucose tests!
I had an appointment 11/6, and my next one is 11/27, which is 3 weeks instead of 2 where it's supposed to be but we're going out of town for Thanksgiving and the doctor is out of town when we are in town so it's fine. Every week there after for ultrasounds, biophysical profiles, and whatnot. He's measuring a full week ahead and 4lbs, which is typical for the Gestational Diabetes they said. I've had it since 16 weeks, quite a bit longer than with DS1. Hopefully all goes well. C section will be scheduled for either 1/7 or 1/9. We shall see!

@oaklandava My midwife booked an appt at 3 weeks instead of 2, which I kind of prefer. It's such a pain getting to the office every two weeks just to get poked, measured, and sent back to work. I know it's to make sure baby is still going strong, and I appreciate that, but still.
I’ve got a 32 week growth ultrasound on Monday 11/19 (even though I’ll only be 31 weeks at that point? 🤷🏻♀️) Then my centering appointment after. DH gets to come to this centering class. Talking about support techniques during labor. He will be just back from China at that point so I’m just hoping he doesn’t fall asleep in the class!
@molosmiles good luck on your 3 hour! I failed mine, but that was with a lot of bad family history working against me and completely bombing the 1 hour. If you were close with your 1 hour then you’re probably fine! GD isn’t fun, but the diet isn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
I’ve got an appointment Tuesday to go over the results of my 24 hour urine collection and determine if the BP issues I’ve been having are preeclampsia or anxiety related. I’m going every week now due to all the craziness.

@DLpanda08 I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I failed the one hour by 20 pts. I don't know if that is a lot or not. This is my 3rd pregnancy and first time failing. If I fail the 3 hour I'll be coming to you for advice! I am horrible at self control when it comes to food. And I never read nutritional facts. I eat in moderation and call it good. I had to eat a no iodine diet for 4 weeks and it was brutal, hopefully this isn't as bad.
@molosmiles I’m happy to help if it comes to that, but hopefully you pass! The food restrictions aren’t too crazy, you just have to plan everything out in advance to make sure your numbers don’t get too high. I was able to have cake at my showers and indulge in my favorite Starbucks holiday drink today without issue because I planned for it. No matter what, you’ll be fine

@wkuandrea my previous take home babies I had urine checked every appointment. This new office hardly ever checks it. It’s so weird.
Yes, my previous office checked every time I went in for anything. My current office only does a urine sample at the first appointment. It surprised me, especially since I ended up being diagnosed with an asymptomatic UTI while I was in the hospital.
I feel like I would be so nervous without urine checks! Though maybe only because I’m used to them? The bathroom in my OBs office was broken once so we didn’t do it and I minimally freaked out that I would have an undiagnosed issue for 4 more weeks. But also I’m an occasionally anxious mess.

@molosmiles ughhhh fingers crossed for you too! I feel for you on three hours without eating - one hour + appointment time is bad enough. I'm 15 minutes in to my drink & feel like my heart's going to beat out of my chest from all the sugar lol...don't think that's a good sign.
Good luck with the GTT guys! I have not ever passed one This time I failed it at 16 weeks. Here's to you guys passing it because I wholeheartedly think that GD is the most confusing thing and defeating thing I have had to deal with this far in life. Mine has not been able to be controlled by diet, exercise, medication, etc. and I am just beyond defeated at this point with it. I had it last time too, but it wasn't this bad. So, FX for everybody to pass it easily!!!!!!

@oaklandava Do you have have diabetes outside of being pregnant or 'only' gestational? I'm really hoping that I don't have it, and I'll be asking lots of questions if I do!
@oaklandava I'm sorry it's been such a challenge! Thanks for the well wishes & here's hoping it's smoothish sailing the rest of this pregnancy for you.
I had some glucose in my urine so idk if that's a good thing or bad? In my head it seems like that means my body is processing & getting rid of extra sugar, but completely pulling that out of my ass lol. Did anyone else's pee test positive for glucose?
@kianarain sorry to be the womp womp here, but an elevated glucose level in urine can be a sign of GD. Hopefully your blood tests come back ok and you don't have to do the 3hr!
@wkuandrea faaaaack. Better to be prepared though so I appreciate the info. They said it wasn't unusual when you consume that much sugar, but I know they wouldn't jump to conclusions regardless. Ugh.
@molosmiles I had GD with my first pregnancy, and again with this one. I'm not sure about when not pregnant--I say that because they found my GD so early this time around that they think I may have elevated numbers normal as a result of the first pregnancy, if not diabetes because of it. I hope not. I really hope not.
@kianarain Thank you! I send my numbers in tomorrow and await his verdict. My high risk Dr is Dr. Christmas this time around, so hopefully he's bringing good presents? I dunno! I have no idea about the glucose in urine--nobody has mentioned that to me either time. They've mentioned protein in urine as being bad I think it was, but nothing about glucose...let us know! FX for you!

@kianarain Glucose in your urine can be a sign of GD, but it can also be normal if you have recently had a bunch of sugar, especially during pregnancy. Fingers crossed it's the second for you!
Just had my midwife appt. A bit high on the weight gain, which I expected (Halloween and Thanksgiving). She also asked if I was extremely uncomfortable because baby is curled up in the right side of my womb and not at all in the left side... Pretty much fully explains the awful back pain on my right side. Baby's head is locked and loaded in my pelvis, so that's awesome. Ouch. lol.
