Re: Weekend Randoms 11/10

  • @imrachellea Im so sorry!! That must have been so incredibly hard to endure.  I remember when I was about 10 years old,  my baby cousin had hit himself in the face against a table.  All I remember is my aunt (his mom) crying hysterically and I was thinking to myself "why is she crying like that? She's not even hurt."
Ahhhhh but I totally get it now.  My ten year  old brain couldn't comprehend a mother's love.  You stay strong. Remind yourself that children heal quickly.  And just like @anonellis said,  its probably harder on you than it is for your daughter.  Big hugz!!

  • @imrachellea oh, dear I am so sorry! Praying for your sweet little one, and the big one, too. I’m sure they are both pretty upset about the situation.

@expandcontract yes! Notice how DH doesn’t even get to be on the couch, but rather has to sit on the floor. 😂

  • @mrskoz428 omg you're right! That's so cute!

  • @imrachellea How terrifying! Good job reacting quickly and getting her to the hospital!

  • @anonellis Thank you so much for sharing your story, that gives me a lot of hope that she won't have any lasting damage!!

Both my girls are still sleeping and despite little or no naps and going to bed late they both slept without a peep all night (DD2 tends to have night terrors when she's overtired). I had a rough time sleeping, I kept seeing her finger in my head and feeling so sick that happened to my little baby. I could still be sleeping now but I can't stop seeing it flash in my head.

  • @imrachellea I'm so sorry that happened. How scary for you guys. Although I have to say 5 years without an ER visit is impressive! I hope she heals up quickly with no long term damage. Sounds like she (and you!) are being such troopers.
  • @imrachellea oh my gosh I'm so sorry that happened! I cannot imagine but it sounds like you guys did everything right and are taking care of it now.

  • @ibanezstarburst I was thinking the same thing! His first year of life we were there probably once a month (around month 4 it was 4+). It's slowed down a lot but my brain can't comprehend never lol.

    @LuckyInIreland that's really exciting!
@wishiwaspreggo I'm sorry, saying goodbye to pets is awful. I'm dreading the day my dogs gets too old

I thought no one would be at the gym this morning because some people have the day off....it was so crowded! Also this old man got on the bike next to me and pedaled nearly the exact same speed. Just enough to throw me off, and it was mildly annoying. Now to get some work down at work.

  • @imrachellea, so glad no surgery is needed. Sorry to hear it happened, but a relief that it won’t cause permanent damage
  • @imrachellea So sorry you had to go through this, but very relieved your daughter is OK! Sounds like she was a trouper and will probably get over it a lot easier than you will! Try to go easy on yourself; you acted quickly and did the right thing.

  • @imrachellea that's great news!! Poor daughter certainly didn't need the added trauma of surgery.
I totally understand how you feel about the image of her finger popping in your head.  I have PTSD so this happens a lot to me. This is going to sound weird but if the images get too much for you, you can try what I found helps...
I discovered this by accident, btw.
I look at (admire, view) a bouquet of flowers (or anything that's pleasant to you) for like two minutes. And after that,  anytime I close my eyes,  I see the flowers. I've found this counteracts the negative images that usually invade my mind.
Don't laugh at me,  it really works for me.

  • @imrachellea that must have been awful! Glad things look like they won’t need any further intervention.
  • @imrachellea praise Jesus for no surgery!

  • @imrachellea oh my goodness! I’m late to the party but I’m so sorry you all had to go through this! If I had a superpower it would be healing hurt and sick children....nothing worse. FX for a speedy recovery!

  • @imrachellea so happy for the good news!
  • @imrachellea I am so sorry that happened to your little one, but that was a great prognosis from the plastic surgeon. Ugh, one of my worst fears is my DD hurting the new little one. :(

  • Thank you everyone for your T&P for DD2. I really don't even know what would have happened if it were my older because she's so extreme. DD2 has just been amazing. She was like a little celebrity when we stopped at school to drop off DD1 yesterday, the entire staff was fawning over her and she was showing off her bandaged hand to all her little friends. We're both back at school today, and her teachers are giving her extra care for help in the bathroom and making sure she's not playing too rough. My students were asking today how she was and one of my little girls (who's mom is DD2s teacher) told me they prayed for her at home last night. I nearly bawled my eyes out at how sweet they were.
