Pregnancy has turned me into such a bitch ( this is my excuse and I'm sticking to it). I asked DH to wash down the entryway by the back door, because it's dirty from the dogs going in and out, and it's where DH is constantly touching the walls and stuff when he's bbqing. Dirty! I got home and he hadn't done anything - still dirty - but he was preparing dinner, so I silently steamed about it... The he chopped off the tip of his finger on the cutting board and bled everywhere, then told me I'd have to finish making dinner. The steam didn't stay so silent then! And now as I'm lying here thinking about it, I know very logically that I was being a total cow, but... I'm still lacking sympathy!
I felt so rundown today. I had a hard time falling asleep because I was short of breath and I woke up at 4am with nasty heartburn. On the plus side, DH has been pretty awesome tonight because I feel like poop.
Does anyone know when Buy Buy Baby triggers your completion coupon? I've already gotten and used my Amazon & Target ones but there are a few things specific to BBB that I still want to get so I'm just playing a waiting game now...
In my experience you can go right in store and tell them you want to use your completion discount. I already used mine what seems like forever ago on furniture. And you can also use the online one “in store” and have them order your stuff online and shipped to your house.
@kianarain that sounds amazing! I’ve been meaning to do that for myself for ages now, I really gotta get on scheduling something!
I’m excited because DHs team at work planned a surprise shower for him this afternoon and invited me to come be part of the surprise. I’ve been so good at keeping it quiet and I can’t wait to see his face! Plus there’s cake, so sign me up for that!!
@kaf1788 we had so much fun picking them out last night. We hit a second store and my H was like "we'll just pick out 15" cut to an hour later and a second round of 100 cars H - "yolo!"
@galactickates that's so funny!!!! Definitely good for stocking stuffers, eater baskets...tooth fairy someday? lol or maybe use as rewards for doing things.
I'm so annoyed. My sister bought a new house and asked DH to make her a new dining table. DH used to do a lot of great woodworking stuff, but it's been about 5 years since he's made anything besides a small nightstand. The garage isn't at all set up, and now it's too cold to do the project in OUR garage. So DH would have to drive 20min to his parents heated workshop to make it. I was all for it when she first asked him MONTHS ago, but even 3 weeks ago DH said he'd have to start asap before it gets too cold, but she's been really casual about it. Now we only have 8 weeks left before baby, and it'll get busy come December, and DH is like, "it'll only take a few weekends, or I can go on the weeknights after DD goes to sleep". Ok, well we only have a few open weekends left, and our relaxing evenings are also numbered. If he only did it on the weeknights it would likely take like every evening for 3 weeks, especially so he can get back in the swing of things. I selfishly don't want our time taken up by him making my sister a dining table (they already have one btw) that she hasn't even decided on. Does that make me selfish? She can wait until spring/summer when he can make it at home! Lately my back has been hurting so bad towards the end of the day, and I don't want DH leaving me every night now that baby is getting closer and closer to coming out. And if he did it on the weekends, it's leaving me solo parenting a 21 month old while super pregnant.
@sweetyjenj You're allowed to be a little selfish at this point. My own hubby is off on a four day hunting trip, and this is after being across the country for a friend's wedding and spending every weekend racing cars. I've told him that this is it; no more solo getaways until at least a month after baby is born. You guys have a baby already, so that's even harder. I think men are just super clueless sometimes.
@sweetyjenj she can totally wait until spring / summer. You’re allowed to be selfish right now. You have a baby coming. And the holiday season is already incredibly busy as it is and just generally not a good time for a project like that!

@sweetyjenj she can absolutely wait! I was in a similar situation where H's bff made us a table for our wedding present but had a toddler and a newborn so it ended up being ready for our 1st anniversary. Our Ikea table worked just fine while we waited! Priorities!
So my computer has been running slow as molasses the last 2 weeks or so. I kept blaming the Bump website because it crashes whenever I try to open a thread with pictures. However today I realized that for whatever reason my updates haven’t been installing so I have like 15 to do. Oops. Sorry Bump. Maybe it’s not ALL your fault.
Guyssss. It has been a hectic week!! Just when I thought I could be all caught up, hell strikes and I feel like I barely have my life together, haha.
I am also team “hope it snows this winter.” We got all the snow hype last year only to turn into warm 50 degree rainy days. I’m from Chicago so DC/VA Winter is disappointing!! I legit want snow on Christmas day. Please please please!!
To those working a buttload - I am also trying not to travel as much and work long hours but it’s so much easier said than done. No one is going to remind you constantly to slow it down if you don’t! Sort of like a note to self but I think we need to remember to speak up for ourselves and not let guilt get to us.
I really can’t believe July board opened & we are just weeks away from meeting our babies.
We are painting DD’s nursery today (for baby bro) & painting our guest room that will soon be DD’s big girl room. I’m pretty sure I’ll bust out some Christmas decorations later and start making our house look festive (as if we needed to do any more today). Hope everyone’s having a good weekend so far.
@AliKay20 It's crazy how close we are to the finish line! Omg, it seems like only yesterday I was crying because DH insisted on cooking bacon and it was making me throw up. Hahahaha. Oh the memories. The slow down reminder is good, as much as I hate it when people tell me to slow down. I think my wake-up call was work trying to send me to do some work in the Arctic; that was really something to make me think about what to let go and let someone else take over.
So to all you ladies, let's raise our imaginary glasses of wine and celebrate! We're almost there!
I agree that time is FLYING by. This pregnancy seems to be going faster than my first. Next Sunday is my birthday, followed by Thanksgiving, and before I know it, Christmas! We should have baby’s room painted within the next couple of weeks. Once we get that done I can organize it, which won’t be too hard. Thanks to my VERY type A DH, all the baby clothes are organized into bags so I don’t have to sort them all.
@sfgiantsgamerbabe um, can your DH show my DH his ways???? I wish ONE of us would be that type A/into organizing! We both suck at organizing. It’s terrible.
@leighbrek I know what you mean. Usually, DH is the first to tell me to slow down and I get frustrated but he usually has a point. Also, when I keep saying yes and pushing my limits, work pple would usually be like “oh you sure? Ok....” then continue to give you more knowing you probably can’t say no.
Thanks to you who affirmed that I'm not being crazy or selfish by wanting DH to wait on the table until later. DH is not very confrontational and is a nice guy who bends over backwards for others, so I'm trying to get him to see that he's not saying "not right now" because he doesn't want to do it, but that it's legit not a good time. I KNOW my sister will be fine, and I'm so close to just telling her myself, but I don't want to step on DH's toes and it would be good coming from him.
ETA: And YES this pregnancy feels like it's flying by compared to my first pregnancy!!!! I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving then Christmas. It's obnoxious. I'm glad it's going fast, though, because being pregnancy this time around with a toddler is harder than I thought. Being pregnant with DD was like a walk in the park comparatively, and I actually thought last time that I might consider eventually being a surrogate because I enjoyed being pregnant.
Yesssss to the flying by. I had a mini-panic this morning about hitting 30 weeks in a couple days because that means there’s so little time left before baby is here!

I just spent the day washing floors and windows, and even though I'm incredibly sore, I'm so glad to have done it. I feel more prepared somehow for baby, even though she's probably still seven weeks away. Pregnancy brain is so weird.. I don't mean like the forgetting and doing stupid stuff - I mean the fixating on tasks. I never really cared much if a window was dirty, but now that type of thing will stick in my brain day and night until I wash the stupid window! DH did finally wash down the landing by the back door, and he actually did a pretty good job of it. Calmed my brain right down.

Yes! Total definition of nesting. Every time I've veen pregnant DH says he can't wait for the nesting phase 'cause I get so anal about doing all the things I usually put off lol!

I did so much yesterday to get ready for baby! Not a lot of apartment, but cleaning and organizing baby clothes, bottles, etc. etc. etc. I never nested with DD, but I assume that’s what was up. So this conversation amuses me with its timing!

+1 to this pregnancy flying by. Someone mentioned to me that I was going to have a newborn in less than 7 weeks and I was like, hold up! WHAT?! That’s so soon! I think for me it has a lot to do with chasing a toddler around. + being generally busy. And the timing being different too. Last time my pregnancy spanned the length of the school year (I’m a teacher) and that made it seem so long.
