Ok FFTC, I lurk other BMBs (mostly when I can’t sleep in the MOTN) and I just don’t understand people who are at the beginning/end of the month who participate in both BMBs. 1. How do you find the time? I struggle to keep up with one. And 2. It just seems AW to me, like pick one!!!
@nmbrcrnchr1I totally agree. Honestly it doesn't matter if you go early or late. It's not like we are going to say, "you ended up giving birth May 28th, you can't be in our group anymore."
I fully anticipate that I will be giving birth sometimes mid May. DD1 is graduating kindergarten this year and I'm just praying they get the May 4th date nailed down so I can for sure be there. The other date they are thinking is May 18th and I'm worried that I would miss it. Although, I plan to pop this baby out and go so as long as I'm not giving birth that day, I will be there. Unless something goes terribly wrong and me or the baby have to stay.
I don’t understand people that pay to find out their child’s gender as early as possible. Is it really worth the money to find out a couple of months earlier than you already would?
I also don’t get the people who straddle two bmb’s. This baby will be born at 36-37 weeks for sure as a planned c-section. So it will have a May DD. But I feel like with physical/mental milestones when we join our FB group, I’d rather have a little one who is behaving similar so we can compare advice (sleep regression, rolling over, how much they are eating, etc).

I think Starbucks coffee tastes like crap and they'd never survive as a company if they didn't have a full menu of fancy sugary drinks to mask the taste.
I'm afraid I'm going to love my dog more than this baby.
lol I definitely straddled two BMBs with my last pregnancy. My due date was originally April then changed to May 1. I was having a difficult pregnancy so appreciated the support from both groups. I still am in FB groups with both of those boards too.
@harrierwife Totally agree on SB coffee. Its crap. Re: your dog - I felt the same way before DS was born. Good news is you will be amazed at how much more you love your baby than your dog once baby is here. Probably. 😂
@wearyfuzzball I felt the same way about US photos my first pregnancy and never shared DD’s.
But its the only photos I have of my one son alive. So I think about them differently now. I’m all about the sharing.

I think all ultrasound photos are like stock photos. Well maybe not the early on ones but pre pregnancy the only ones anyone has ever shown me in the perfect silhouette.
Not sure if this is UO/FFFC or just oddness on my part...
I am currently jury-rigging a hamster cage that’s 10 years old to accommodate a mouse that we caught in in house since we are such softies we can’t kill it or throw it back outside. He is named olive since I caught him in a packet of Olive Garden Parmesan cheese we apparently had thrown in our junk drawer (I obsessively save restaurant takeout condiments) and this little thing will cost us so much more energy and money than any sane person should be expending especially since one of our cats will probably get him somehow in the end. Poor little olive.
@Dcwtada I would be worried about the diseases those things carry. If you want a pet mouse, the pet store is the best place.
If you can't kill it just take it a few miles away from your house and dump it. That way, it likely won't find it's way back into your home but can still live out its life.
We had a mouse problem a few years back and I had no issues killing that thing. I have had pet mice and rats while growing up too.
@wearyfuzzball that's interesting that they feel so personal to you. Right now the baby looks kind of like a little blob so it doesn't look too distinct or truly representative of their likeness. So aside from everyone getting to check out the structure of my uterus, for some reason it just seems so... clinical rather than personal. But I different strokes for different folks! Do you!
@harrierwife Ha, I don't even drink coffee actually so I'm totally one of those people that's like "Yes, I will have the double chocolate chip frappocino with extra whipped cream." It's not really ice cream... Actually the reason I used to love going to Starbucks was when I was in high school they used to sell these lollipops that were soda flavored and I was obsessed with them.
@dcwtada you are a kind soul with a huge heart to give such time and love to that creature. After having an infestation in my house a couple of years ago I have zero love and if I see one scurrying the halls it’s mouse trap city.
Confession time for me, I guess...I introed in July's board when my OB told me my due date was July, but mostly because I honestly wasn't sure what the actual protocol is for TB (I had never heard of it until two weeks ago, plus they seemed nice too). When the OB put me back to June, I bowed out there.
UO: the older I get, the more I think Lorelai Gilmore is trash. In college I soooooo wanted to be her someday. Now that I'm literally the same age as she is on the show (series, not Netflix; side note, UO#2, the reboot was terrible), I think she's awful and cheer for Emily.
Which is all meaningless if you don't/didn't watch Gilmore Girls, but that's my go-to every basketball season... watch it start to finish every year while DH is working longer hours or at away games.
I have no idea why but I hate when people say things like “+1 for the struggle bus”. I’ve never heard that until this board, specifically on all the symptom threads, and it irks me every time I read it lol.
@Dcwtada I am literally dying. You have a rat in your house lol. Girl take that thing to the pet store, they wil wait for you to leave and that will become a nice meal for a pet waiting to be adopted!
@harrierwife I was afraid of that with my first and sometimes I do love the dogs more, but only for a fraction of a second then those little arms go around your neck and say "'I love you mommy" and you never think about it again!
Mine is that I absolutely hate Thanksgiving food. Dressing/Stuffing makes me want to puke. I don't do cranberry sauce and Ham and Turkey are just not my jam. I am just here for the potatoes and rolls.
@ki1244 lol i hear yah. I agree about the reboot. I totally thought growing up i wanted a kid as young as possible ... but now that I am here at 34 going on 35 before baby comes I am glad we waited... even if we were of the mindset of never.
@ki1244 I am a Lorelai fan. Emily is a little it too much for me. I also love Gilmore Girls. And I enjoyed the reboot and how they left it open for more. I was excited.
@Dcwtada my skin is literally crawling...get it out!! hahaha. only slightly kidding. We have a mouse problem at work and I would have no problem with it being caught in the poisonous trap that's set. Mice and rats give me the creeps.
@harrierwife I worried about that a little bit too. Our dog was like our "baby". I mean I did professional 1st birthday pictures for him with a dog cake and all. (disclaimer: my mom's a photographer so it's not as crazy as it sounds) But once baby #1 came the dog definitely shifted to just a spoiled dog and not our "baby" for the most part.
@emeraldcity603 I had been told almost all health issues come from a mouse being loose in your house (feces, urine, contaminating food etc with saliva and parasites they have on them) so getting him contained is priority #1.
We have corn/bean fields behind our house and during harvest and once it gets cold it’s a problem every year as they lose their home/food source and it gets too cold for them and they seek warm shelter. We have cats and a couple unofficial barn cats (we do spay and release around here for feral cats) I don’t mind them killing them, this is just the only one that made it past the cat gauntlet so far. I feel like he deserves a fighting chance. My sister is a vet tech at animal wellness league and raises mice (as snake food but that’s another story) so I am waiting for her butt to wake up and get her advice. I have no intention of handling him but I am so glad we caught him as opposed to a surprise gift from my cat. I appreciate yet hate those gifts.
I love the bump app, I just have a strong dislike for the admins of the community threads on here. I love reading about and talking to other moms who are as far along as me. I don’t post a lot because I’m afraid my pregnancy rage will get the best of me and I’ll end up saying something mean to the admins who swear they are trying to keep the boards from being cluttered but it appears more like a power trip. To be frank, we are on here for nine months, so who honestly cares if someone wants to post a separate asking questions?
Thats my rant for the dat. 😂 I haven’t shared the news on Facebook yet, so I’m pretty sure people think I’m crazy. My hormones are all over the place!
@meatballs37 I always appreciate differing views and opinions, however I wish yours was under different circumstances ❤
@chrssyms Oddly enough, when I first joined this board I was SO PUMPED to share my US photos. Then after my first US, I was sitting at home looking at the picture in the little paper frame the doctor put it in that said "Babys 1st Photo" and realized it was the first time I felt a true connection to this little human inside of me. That's when I realized it was something I wanted to keep to myself.
I didn't really like the reboot of Gilmore Girls, but will most likely still watch the next one that is rumoured to be coming! I spent so many hours watching it that I feel like I can't not see it through. I like Lorelai, but appreciated Emily more towards the end. Rory really annoyed me in the reboot.
@mamamaggie524 Last time I totally agreed with waiting till the anatomy scan at 20 weeks, leaving something fun and exciting for a little later. I feel so guilty that this time I really want to know early, it does feel silly but I want to know so bad. I'm justifying in my head is that we may not be back in our hometown after 20 weeks so I want to do another small reveal party like last time.
@ki1244 I agree! She really jerked people around constantly and was selfish. I rewatched the series a few years ago and really saw it differently than my late teen self.
@jhems776 - totally agree on the gender/sex knowledge. I thought I'd be on TEAM GREEN but now I just want to know. Mostly so I can start sewing and knitting specific things in specific colors or styles. I'm probably going to have to wait until the anatomy scan, though. GAH.
@harrierwife@klmcguire you can send all your non-potato food my way. One year I had four Thanksgivings over two weeks and that was like my Olympus. I actually don't care much for mashed potatoes but just about everything else, YES PLEASE.
@wearyfuzzball I'm absolutely with you on the u/s picture. I cropped it any everything preparing to post and then held back...I haven't shown my own mother yet. Maybe after the cat's out of the bag I'll feel differently but for now, no thanks!
When people say "it will be so worth it!!" whenever I mention MS/nausea/constipation/food aversions/insomnia I literally picture punching them in the throat.

You basically just told the majority of the active board that you dislike them. Congratulations, you just made it onto my sticky post.
Also, there are no admins on this board. We just all agree that we don't want to scroll through AW posts about painful bowels and "am I pregnant?" posts before we get to something actually meaningful to the community.
Maybe you should just go hang out on the first tri board and post your 1 off AW posts. That way, you can clutter that board and not be surrounded by "admins" who bring your pregnancy rage out.
I hate when people take to social media to complain about a company.
My sister does it ALL the time and it makes me cringe. I always take my complainys with companies to their customer service and I always get the issue take care of, plus more. You just have to be nice and treat the customer service representative like a human.
@emeraldcity603 Okay, seriously. I have never felt like I couldn't post something or that there was no place for it. Why do people hate organization?? It literally takes no extra effort to post something in the appropriate place. Or, if you want to start a thread that applies to a large group of people, have at it. But I just really do not understand how people think anyone would get support without organization. Maybe they have no intention of actually supporting anyone? Hmmm....
My UO: I tend to assume that the people who hate board organization have really messy houses.
@emeraldcity603 I guess that’s why they call it an unpopular opinion isn’t it? Lol 😂 I don’t even know what a sticky post is so it probs won’t affect my day to day life. Thanks for you suggestions.
@amaren-2 As an advertising director, BLESS YOU FOR THAT. I love my job but easily my least favorite part is having to be hypervigilant to our social media mentions in case a complaint arises there. Just talk to us! If you've done that and it's still not resolved, fine, give us a bad review, but more often than not, if we wind up getting a complaint via social media, it's someone who hasn't even let us know at any point they were unhappy. Drives me bonkers.
@babyfleck1, part of being in a community is giving support. You can't do that when all you do is post an AW post everytime some thought comes into your head. That is basically telling us, we aren't important enough to get to know and provide support but please give me all the support I need plus some. No thanks. When I see you post, I will just keep scrolling.
@ki1244 OMG my husband's hoarding will be the death of me. I can't even bring myself to go in his office. I keep telling him I'll just throw it all in the trash one day.
I had a clean house. Then I had three kids in 20 months and my husband deployed. Now I’m lucky if I get all the dishes done before I go to bed. I get everyone in bed and all I want to do is collapse on the couch. Screw the vacuum and the laundry.

@ruby696 my MIL came to visit this summer, and brought a bunch of stuff from her basement. Why am I the proud owner of an entire 13-gallon tote of green army men? I asked for 4 to hide in the garland I put on our entertainment center at Christmas. And two more totes of Legos? I promise I married an adult... (I also found a stack of his business cards from a job he had 7 years ago. I adore this man beyond words, and I probably save more random stuff than I should, but this is next-level.)
