@beccaneu I agree. I do not understand why that one got shut down at all. The butthurt antivaxxer probably reported it, and the bump goes just shut down anything that rumples any feathers these days it seems.
@bumbly_b we use tiny beans! I love it for sharing pictures with relatives/friends. We donโt post much on social media so itโs nice for people who canโt see him in person often.ย
We had to increase our offer by a lot, but we got the house. Setting up inspections tomorrow. I am still hesitant to get too excited, but I'm definitely cautiously optimistic. There were 3 other offers today and it just went on the market yesterday. We were the first to see it. We matched the highest offer but said we'll pay closing (working on that with the lender to decrease cost). I'm just... I can't believe this is actually happening ๐ฌ
@eatinwatermelonseeds yay! Hopefully everything with your inspection comes back good! We just bought a house this summer, and it was terrifying to commit that much money to something, but it has been a big improvement for us.

DS woke up way too early this morning! But he's napping now and it is a good nap so far, almost an hour! When he wakes up we will finally get to the grocery store. He has OT this afternoon. Today is going much better than yesterday, even though he woke up early he wasn't cranky and we will be out of the house a lot today which will be good for us. Hope everyone is having a good day!
@eatinwatermelonseeds hooray!!!! congrats!!! I've found home ownership to be awesome. We were apartment dwellers but jumped on a house we loved probably a little too impulsively. But it's been over a year and a half, and it was the BEST decision we ever made. Being with your family in your family home is a super special feeling.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine posted something on Facebook about Indiana suppressing democratic voters by altering their registration so she encouraged everyone to check their voter status and take a screen shot to take to the polls. I did so just in case because of all the Russian hacking and other meddling/foolishness I've been reading about. Everything was fine, my registration was valid, my name was correct, and I was good to go.
Went to the polls yesterday. They couldn't find my registration. When they searched by date of birth, my registration popped up with my maiden name. I voted in the LAST TWO ELECTIONS with my married last name. After some aggressive push back on my end and pulling out credit cards with my maiden name on them they allowed me to vote.
I was really flustered at that point. I went back to my car and looked up my registration online, on the EXACT SAME WEBSITE I'd checked a few weeks ago, and it said my registration wasn't valid.
What the actual fuck. I don't even know who to complain to at this point. If anyone can provide guidance on where to report this I would appreciate it. Ugh, I was so angry!!!
I also would suggest contacting your local media to tell your story and show all your documentation as I am sure you know as well as I do that Indiana and the current administration aren't going to do shit. @wishiwaspreggo sooo not cool. I would be up in arms about that. A friend of mine went to vote in NYC of all places and his registration had been wiped from the records. He lives in the most liberal part of Brooklyn, it's hard to believe there's anything nefarious going on but these days, you truly don't know...good for you for standing up for your right to vote.ย

My wife's theory is the republicans are attacking/suppressing our only majorly blue county (Monroe) which would make sense. Yeah, I had NO idea in what universe Mike Braun would win so easily. He's an idiot. Joe Donnelly isn't much better TBH (he's only *barely* a democrat himself) but at least he listened when we complained about the wall and abortion restrictions the government was trying to pass here. Braun will shoot us back to the dark ages. I wish I could leave Indiana but I'm firmly rooted here. Guess I should stick around and fight.

@spaceburger have you listened to My Favorite Murder? It's technically labeled as a true crime comedy podcast, but it's great. Basically two girlfriends talking about murders and shit. Some of the episodes are just nuts. But it's also funny. Not super fact based. They talk about Last Podcast on the Left as well, but I've never listened.ย
