@kvh22 my water did not break until the broke it for me but I flat out asked one of the med techs at the hospital for those pad things they put on the exam beds. She gave me a ton and they are still in my car along with some trash bags hahaha

Me too! I have a few left over from last time but not in my car. Hehe.
My water never broke. Like, the midwife checked me and looked up and was like "umm... Did you feel anything wet?" "I really can't feel ANYTHING" 😂 "oh. Well, your membranes have ruptured, but it's bone dry down here." (Referring to the bed, not me 😂) I guess it all backed up behind him. That kind of makes me nervous. With the risk of umbilical prolapse when the membranes rupture, it'd be kind of terrifying to not know.
@expandcontract I was awake an hour before you posted! Every day around 1-1:30 am (CT). I just started dozing when you posted! Sorry! Also, this is my one day to sleep in as we don’t have school today and my body wakes up at 5:30 as normal. So not fair!
@mrs_koz428@expandcontract Just wait until we all have our babies and the FB group is totally popping at 2am while we're all nursing/giving bottles/calming babies.
I can Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited for this baby and I'm OBSESSED with newborn but I remember how hard it was with DS and I am a miserable human to be around when I haven't slept enough so I'm enjoying my time now. I do wake up a few times a night but luckily I can go back to sleep fairly quickly. I'm so spoiled now that DS sleeps through the night.
Speaking of sleep, has anyone tried moon milk? I'm so intrigued but not sure I'd like it. I'm not a cardamom fan at all. Currently I have no trouble falling asleep but it might be nice for my third tri insomnia.

Lol @DuchessOfCambridge you're actually right. I've been so scared about this baby that when I said I couldn't wait, I was actually thinking "I can't wait to have baby in my arms and not have to worry about the outcome of this pregnancy!" But yes, MOTN feedings were super hard!! I, too, think about the fact that my daughter sleeps through the night and how Im about to give that up. Thankfully, that period does go by fast, though! That's the great part about it.
@DuchessOfCambridge Every time I get woken up to pee, I get all annoyed and then can’t help but think “omg this is about to be 10x worse in a few months”
My first pregnancy I just did not understand the STMs who were like oh yeah I’m not anxious for baby to come out because I know how hard it is. And I was like NOPE GIMME THAT BABY NOW, PLEASE EVACUATE.
Second time around, I totally get it. Super excited for the baby, not super excited for lack of sleep. I will say though, I’ve totally romanticized DS’s newbornhood. It was such a difficult time but such a special one and I get so nostalgic about it.
5:50am. Been up since 5. My one morning to sleep in and I blow it with insomnia. Now I might have to go downstairs and make breakfast because I'm getting so hungry....who is this person I'm becoming? 🤨
I woke up in the MOTN last night to pee (because duh) and then my brain reminded me how I sent a kid home yesterday with lice (live bugs, he's had it off and on for three weeks because mom refuses to treat with anything other than tea tree oil 🙄). He's not in my class, he's in DD1s, but we had combined classes yesterday. I laid awake for at least half an hour panicked that she had lice and I needed to go check her and terrified about taking all her very beloved stuffed animals to burn.
Also I don't understand why this mom can't just treat her kid's hair properly. She insists he's getting it from our school and wants to know what we're doing to stop it and yet not a single other kid or staff member has it.
@imrachellea I hate all things bugs! I actually started using a tea tree oil shampoo and conditioner to help protect myself from getting lice from one of our 225 4th graders in our hallway! I hope DD1 doesn’t get them!
@imrachellea omg! That's so annoying. I probably would've lay awake as well 😂 I did clinical one night and a classmate had been holding a baby almost all shift and then the mother called and said the older sibling had scabies. I never saw this baby, but I sat next to the friend before she told me, so I went home and literally scrubbed myself 5 times in the shower 😂 it was ridiculous but I could not help it.
@imrachellea Ugh, lice is my fear. I remember getting it as a kid and all my stuffed animals going into big black trash bags and having my dad comb my hair with the nit comb because my mom was too rough. Periodically after that, my mom would force us to get checked, which was always annoying as a kid, but as a parent, I totally get it... the horror.
Yeah I had lice as a kid too. My brother got it first, I ended up just having the eggs. That nit come was the worst. I've had multiple instances of it in my classes in my going on 9 years of teaching. I've realized my standard mom bun that only gets washed maybe twice a week and daily spraying with sea salt spray is a pretty good defense, I've neever gotten it from a student. And I've had some gross cases...one girl was pulling bugs out of her hair during a spelling test, one was itching and when I told her I was going to have her get checked because another student said she saw a bug this student told me "I know I have lice but my mom says I have to come to school because she can't stay home with me"'...wth?!? I also only wash my girls hair once or twice a week too...lice prefer clean hair, so my laziness is helpful!

Ugh. That is awful. I hope it was a lose-her-job type situation and not just neglectful parenting.
A few years ago I had a girl in my class aggressively scratching her head, and them raise her hand to announce to all her peers and me that her head was really really itchy... when I asked if she wanted to go to the bathroom or the office to figure it out she said no, and I just sort-of shrugged and said "okay, just try not to scratch it then" and she stayed in class. Later that day the building secretary came around with stacks of lice notes for the kids to take home, and I felt so bad for the girl who had basically announced to her classmates that she had lice.
