@sjnsjnsjn I guess i'm just super sick of ultrasounds! I HATE holding my bladder as well, LOL. Well, stubbornness is definitely my hubbie's best trait, so i'm sure we are in for a hell of a ride.
They say it's for no specific concern, but they cannot get a photo of a part of the brain and the kidneys so they are insistent I come back.....I just think, enough is enough, baby isn't going to give it to you! lol
My stupid BV has come back again so I went into the doctor to get ANOTHER prescription (this will be the 4th). Fingers crossed this one works! The upside is that I got to hear the baby on the doppler, since I have an anterior placenta I only feel occasional movement, so it's always reassuring to hear the little guy kicking around.
@babystrong2719 LO is measuring on average 1.5 weeks ahead (skull is 2+ weeks ahead) so we are going back for another scan in 4 weeks. My stomach has been on track so far. I wasn’t sure on my LMP so due date is based off my dating ultrasound at what turned out to be 8 weeks. I’ll. e curious what my doctor thinks as well. The waiting game is hard!
Appt today went well! Heartbeat is nice and steady. I also got my glucose drink with me, I'm supposed to drink it before my next appt. Kinda nice to get to take it home so I don't have to hang out in the waiting room for an hour. Not looking forward to it though, two days of no caffeine before the test? I might die.
Dr also said it was totally fine to schedule my next US for week 33 instead or 32 (insurance reasons), so we're all good!

@grebretso wait...no caffeine?? My doctor scheduled that for my November appt but said don't change anything I normally do. Strange.
Appt today went about as expected. Finally schedule the fetal echocardiogram with the high risk dr today. It is for the 31st. The 2 vessel cord issue is rare at my practice but my doctor said she handled it all the time at her previous one. Basically baby is fine. I have to get a 2nd AS at 30 weeks, then at 32wks start weekly non stress tests for him. And I will also start weekly appt then. I am basically skipping the everyother week appts and going straight to weekly. Biggest downside was I will probably have to be induced between 37 and 39 weeks depending on how he responds to the tests.
@hnbergeron They told me no caffeine or high sugar food/drink two days before the test, and no food or drink (including water) after drinking the glucose drink until I've had my blood draw. Otherwise no fasting, just eat what I normally eat. Weird that it's different from place to place!

Mw appt today. They didn't receive my placenta u/s results from 3 weeks ago, so annoying but the OB at the time said marginal and confident it would move... so w-e, pelvic rest continues until 32 week u/s minimally. HB on track at 150, stomach measuring on track also. Took BP and didn't say anything so assume it was fine too.
Got my requisition for glucose test and booked it.. sucks at the lab I go to they make you drink it there, wait the full hour in case of reactions, then draw, guess ill be working from the waiting room! Mw said not to drink OJ/sugar in the am but otherwise eat as normal (so sounds similar to yours @grebretso). Got my TDAP shot booked for early Nov, and my dr still doesn't have flu shots.. so I am not sure how far apart the TDAP and Flu shot should be so I guess the flu shot is happening after the TDAP. One more monthly MW appt and then I switch over to bi-weekly, woohoo!
I had just a general appointment today and by their scale it said I gained 10lbs since my last apt 4 weeks ago! I don’t feel like I have, I guess it’s all just in my belly. They just said make sure I am watching what I eat and staying active. I have my glucose test in 3 weeks, now I’m kind of nervous about that
I had a regular OB appointment today and everything seems perfectly on track. I got the paperwork for the glucose test and I have to do that at 27 weeks. Uneventful.
Had a regular OB appt today. Did the glucose test in the office which I haven’t done before. It was much better! They gave me the drink, I had my regular appt only had to wait like 15 min until my draw. The drink wasn’t great as usual but it was nice not having to hang around the lab for an hr trying to pass the time.
Appt over and did not hurl immediately from drinking that fruit punch concentrate although I thought I would. I'll call that a win. Got to hear the baby's HB, 149, mwwwaaa
Feeling so FAB! Doctor is super happy with my weight gain, anatomy scan results after 3 ultrasounds are great, my heart rate is in check, Doctor things i'm "killing it" at this pregnancy thing! Baby HB is 145. I feel like dancing! lol.
Going on Wednesday to do the fetal echocardiogram. Not super worried but nerves are starting to come up. No red flags andababy is moving like crazy but my appointment slot went from a 1hr window to 2?? I'm sure there is no real reason other than being cautious if he decides to not cooperate. I am curious as to how they do an echo cardiogram on a baby in utero though.
@hnbergeron I've had the fetal echo twice, once for DS and once for this LO. It's just a special technician/ultrasound and they get a SUPER DUPER close up of the heart chambers etc. If baby cooperates, it shouldn't take as long as they gave you.
My glucose results loaded and my number is 129mg anything above 130 is considered abnormal which means I just made it by the skin of my teeth. My doc better not make me do the three hour or I will RIOT
I know it’s a pain in the ass but it’s definitely not something you want going undiagnosed. It doesn’t have to be sweets, in fact I can handle candy better than I can a piece of bread or any sort of rice.
Regular midwife appointment today, everything measuring well including me lol. I'm nervous about my weight gain though. Need to stop looking at the scale.
Going to do my glucose test and blood work Thursday... wish me luck.
Ohh yes @changadee this is the time in pregnancy when I turn my back to the scale while they weigh me. Most nurses tend to take that cue lol
I tried doing that at my last appointment, but then the nurse asked me to read out my weight to her while she typed it in. I don't know what I ever did to her to make her hate me so much.
Monthly appointment this morning. Pretty typical stuff. HB was a perfect 140 bpm. Weight gain was a pound this month.
First time seeing OB since my A/S 3 weeks ago. Everything was great but she mentioned my placenta is anterior. It’s usually NBD but because of having a c/s, there could be potential complications causing blood loss/ needing a hysterectomy. I’m having my tubes tied anyway so it’s not the end of the world of they do have to do a hyst but it’s still a little scary to think about any sort of complication.
@allthingsgo - that’s good to know. My OB didn’t seem *too* concerned other than to give me the “what if’s”, which I do appreciate. But then I made a rookie mistake and googled “anterior placenta and c-section”.
@okayestmom12 I googled anterior placenta with my first and I remember some scary stuff coming up about c sections with them. I have an anterior placenta this time too and my dr hasn’t said anything about any issues if I do end up needing a c section again. Sounds like you don’t have anything to worry about either.
spare me the google please @okayestmom12 and @allthingsgo , I have anterior and currently low placenta, x it moves but if it doesn't... why does that equal possible hysterectomy??
@cass06_07 - the way I understand it is that the big risk comes in if they have to cut through the placenta to get to the uterus. If and when that happens, there is typically more blood loss and the potential for the inability to stop the bleeding which would then mean it would be advised to remove the uterus (hysterectomy).
It sounds pretty scary for sure but I’m certain that it is literally the absolute worst case scenario.
