New Years Resolutions!?!

All,
We are working on getting our private group started so that we can all get to know each other in a more private forum over the next few months as we consider a move to Facebook. Everyone hates the lack of functionality on The Bump app but nobody’s ready to invite everyone into their real lives yet. This is a middle option for us to mingle before we take that step.

The private group is called January 2019 PG and is searchable. Please request to be added if you’re interested. Right now I am an admin as well as @galactickates but we will be adding more. At this time it’s expected that anyone with a real screenname will be accepted but don’t request entry if you’re just going to lurk. There will be some form of (light) participation requirements. Once we get up and running there may be some other more formal way of accepting new members but for now let’s just get in there and get started!!

Despise TB right now. Will keep you guys updated if I see anything on my end. I did JUST make it less than an hour ago so it’s probable that TB is just shitty and that’s the issue.

Yup, same here. Can't click on the link. But I tried clicking on a bunch of different group links and I can't do anything with any of them.....guess TB is just being stupid...

If I ever make it in, I'm happy to help out the admin team. I am entering my slooooow season at work so have the time to bump.

I was able to request a join but it was super convoluted. I had to click on all groups. Then all new groups and then I was finally asked why I wanted to join. It seems way more cumbersome than it should have been.

I'm happy to help with admining also, if I can ever join the group lol. My work should calm down in a few weeks, leaving me with more free time through at least April (and longer, if I can get a modified schedule approved).

I think I was able to make a request for the right group. For some reason when I tried to go to “all new groups” nothing came up but I could see and click on groups in “all popular groups.”

+1 to not being able to click the link. I can't click on any of the "new group" links, but I can click on the popular groups. Maybe that's why they're so popular!

Thank you for starting the group. I got on FFFC after work today (ugh not a fun day) and agreed with a lot of what people said, I post but I don’t post as much as I want to cause I am worried about lurkers. I think I have only done one Bump photo for that reason. Also TB sucks cause I have changed my photo 10 times and it has never stuck.

I'm interested in joining, I've never searched for a group before, as my last BMB went right to FB. I'm trying to navigate, I can see the group when I click groups but beyond that I am unable to click anything and I don't see a search. Just wanted to say I was trying.

I had to do the same thing as @sparkymcgeee to get it to work. Go to the community page and scroll down to the groups section, then hit "View All Groups", then "All New Groups" and then it would finally let me click on the January 2019 PG group

I went that route too but it wont let me hit join. mine almost looks like its waiting to be accepted. what is happening! I might be stuck - the girl who couldn't join

UGHHHHHH. FFS X2.

I haven't been able to click on the group at all from mobile. Clicking on "All New Groups" just brought me to a page that listed only the three (inactive) groups I'm already a member of. So I clicked on "All popular groups" and hunted through a dozen pages of groups until I saw ours listed. I was then able to click on the link, and then on "join this group"... only to see this error message:

That said, flipping through the full list of groups can be entertaining. Here are some gems that I saw:

@galactickates I had that issue earlier too, and when I hovered my mouse over the button (on desktop) it said that my request had been denied. Then @wolfmum sent another invite and I was able to press the button again, only to get the same error message I posted about above. So frustrating!!

I sent an email to Bump support, but is it worth tagging the BGs here to see if they can help?

Ugh I’m at my parents house for our shower with no computer, and the app definitely isn’t working to try to join right now. I’ll have to keep trying! I like the idea of a private group. Maybe things will get more interesting there. I have to say I’m very easy going in general, and pretty boring so I don’t think I have much more to add from a drama perspective, but it’s fun to read!

Sorry for all the hassle everyone. We’re trying to get some kinks figured out here which is pretty tough when TB has errors on every page.
Unfortunately we’ve figured out that inviting people doesn’t work- they get a message with no link and since they’ve been “invited” they can’t join on their own. Or so it seems. Everyone who has requested is getting in one by one and we will keep trying to find different ways to make this work. We will keep you updated as we add members if we figure out THE SECRET.

@wolfmum Is there a way to withdraw the invite so we can then submit a request on our own? Or is that what leads to the non-functioning Join button with the "your request has been rejected" error that I (and possibly @galactickates) experienced?
