Ten Things Tuesday

Re: Ten Things Tuesday

  • @changadee I wont do hot tubs, but I still do hot baths. Ob said water wont stay hot long enough(without a heater) to raise body temp to a concerning level. Might be worth asking your provider about.

@ohsunnydays my house has had unpacked moving boxes in it for 2 months and shit scattered everywhere. I don’t like having people over either for any reason. If I waited for magazine perfect nobody would ever come in my door again  :D I have no sense of style and my husband is a slob.
Lol everything about this is true for me except having moved recently
  • @notthecheat- Huge Les Mis fan here too!!
  • 1. I’m 35, husband is 32.
    2. I’ve lived all over the country, but Maryland has been home since 2001 (except for 04-06 when I went to grad school in Texas)
    3. My mom is from the Dominican Republic, and made sure our first language was Spanish.
    4. I’m the oldest of 3, my sister is 14 months younger than me and pretty much my best friend. My brother is 7 years younger and is considered the spoiled one.
    5. I don’t drink, but love to smell of beer when I’m pregnant.
    6. I’m pretty socially awkward, but instead of being embarrassed by it I’ve embraced it. Making people uncomfortable can be fun sometimes, and it makes for some good stories.
    7. I used to be artsy but haven’t painted in years. I have a pile of supplies sitting in the corner of my dining room, yearning to be used.
    8. I love hiking and the outdoors but have never been camping.
    9. I love to dance, but am a terrible dancer - a dangerous combination.
    10. I consider myself religious but don’t like talking about it, so most people I associate with have no idea.

  • @sjnsjnsjn what do you think of the movies?
  • @notthecheat- I loved it on Broadway so much and also the original London cast recording which I basically listened to continuously when I was a kid (my dream was to play Fantine on Broadway- not Cosette - and I was a kid. A little disturbing in retrospect!) that I was predisposed against the one from a few years ago, but other than Russell Crowe's voice, I actually loved it and of course wept copious amounts.  That's the only film version I have seen. How about you?!
  • @notthecheat and @sjnsjnsjn Also a big Les Mis Fran here! Have you seen the cast pictures for the new BBC Masterpiece of Les Mis? It looks like it'll be great! https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/shows/les-miserables/#
  • @hannahbananas11- OMG I did not even know that was happening. Hopefully it will be on some streaming thing.  I love that "Jimmy McNulty" (the wire) is in it!
  • @lzzfrancisco I do still take baths, but not as hot as I would really like, toddler temperature or whatever, but I hate it lol. When I take a bath normally I like the water so hot I can feel my blood pressure going up and my pulse pounding in my ears lol. That can't be good for baby. So I just look forward to my first bath post delivery.
  • @eggsandwich2019 I also LOVE baking bread! It's such a weird thing but it's so soothing for me.
  • 1. I have lived in Illinois, Florida and Georgia and might be moving back to Florida after this baby is born.
    2. I played softball my entire life and in college and I still miss it.
    3. I have 2 bachelors degrees, 1 in psychology and 1 in nursing. The psych degree will never be used but hey it was paid for!
    4. I am the oldest of 3, I have a younger sister and brother.
    5. My sister is 17 months younger than me, we are very close and she is also pregnant due the end of March. My SIL is also pregnant with twins due in April!
    6. DH and I met in February, DS is born in February and now this baby is February too. Apparently it’s our month!
    7. I love watching sports especially baseball and football...way more than DH does.
    8. I am the least creative person around but lucky DH is and that’s why our house is decorated nicely lol
    9. I really miss beer during football season
    10. I hate winter and couldn’t imagine living and further north than Georgia.
  • @notthecheat I am also a (mostly true) crime junkie - I listen to a lot of podcasts though since I can’t watch much anymore either. My Favorite Murder, Sword and Scale, and Last Podcast on the Left are all great.
  • @cmjenkies not the best shows to be watching around young kids amirite  :D

@sjnsjnsjn there is an older movie that is not a musical starring Liam neeson, but he was too gruff as valjean imo. I felt similarly to you about the newer movie! I wrote an entire critique on my FB notes after I saw it in the theater  :D My big hangup was also Russell Crowe. Not that his voice was that bad, but he made a terrible javert. Was not the right type at all. I thought everyone else was pretty good. Seifreid surprised me. I really appreciated that they added a lot of the details from the book into the movie.

@hannahbananas11 did not know they were doing that either! ETA do you know when it's airing? I couldn't find a date.

  • @notthecheat I can't find a date, either. IMDB just says "2018". Hopefully around the holidays! That would be a good show to watch during the holidays!
  • @hannahbananas11- even better I would to save episodes of that for mat leave if it's on a streaming service!
  • @wrensnest I'm a librarian! If you ever get some free time in your life (ha!), public libraries rely heavily on volunteers to keep things running. I know that some libraries have volunteers doing cataloging and some of the in-depth things, too, which is fun. That might be a way to get your library "fix" without committing to extra schooling or a career change! :)
