Those are in completely random and nonsensical order. 😄
1. My 7yo stayed home sick yesterday. I stayed home today. I’m probably going to have to stay home at least part of the day tomorrow because I have the plumber coming back at 7. Slowly chipping into my maternity leave PTO. 2. I just started watching the Haunting of Hill House on Netflix. It’s so wonderfully creep-tastic. 3. I am really hoping that whatever is going on with this house will be wrapped up before the holidays roll around so we can actually settle in before the baby comes. 4. I work at a hospital and I’m not looking forward to pregnancy during flu season. It was bad here last year. 5. I don’t walk nearly as much as @hannahbananas11 6. I was cold toed at 70 this morning but now I’m sweating at 72. 8. We are sharing one charging cable between 2 iPhones and an iPad right now. It’s incredibly annoying.. should probably buy another. 9. Speaking of Halloween, neither of my kids have costumes yet. I was thinking about making them Jack and Sally but we may just pull out something old from the dress up clothes and call it a day. They won’t care as long as there’s candy. 10. I’m very boring today apparently. It was hard to say 10 random things.

1. I’m in the middle of a nap time rebellion from DD and it is exhausting. 2. DD is watching way too much TV because of said nap time rebellion. 3. My 4 year wedding anniversary is early next month. 4. We are going to see one of my favorite bands, Iron&Wine, for our anniversary. 5. I love ghost stories and believe in the possibility of ghosts. 6. I had two older siblings (one passed away) and two younger siblings so I was smack in the middle growing up. 7. I love horses and took horseback riding lessons as an adult for about a year before I got pregnant. I miss it. 8. I used to workout a lot and be really into yoga but haven’t done any real workouts since I got pregnant with DD over two years ago. 9. 1. There’s a kitten (no collar) creeping around outside our apartment and I want to take it in SO BADLY. 2. We named our son after the dragon in Pete’s Dragon. Not because I have any particular devotion to the movie, I just saw it when I was really emotional while pregnant and suddenly he was named! 3. I love decorating for holidays to the point that it’s excessive. 4. I get really into cooking competition shows. Like I’ll yell at the tv while watching Chopped. 5. Also frequently yell at the tv while watching sports - Kentucky basketball and football and Packers football. 6. I get to help with the middle school play and musical as part of my job (I grew up in the theater) and I cry every opening night. 7. I could never be a SAHM and maternity leave is so hard for me. I took 12 weeks last time and really struggled mental health wise towards the end. 8. My favorite movie is Silence of the Lambs. I could watch it 16 times a week and I’d still be creeped out. 9. Sometimes when I finish a really good book I get super sad and wish I could go back in time to before I knew what happened and could start over. 10. I never close all my rings on my Apple Watch. NEVER. And my move goal is like ... 300 active calories.
@BourbonBiscuits Silence of the Lambs is my favorite too.. and I agree about never being able to be a SAHM but I did enjoy my full 12 week leave because I did not like that particular job.
..but a Kentucky fan? Come on now, you’ve got to have higher standards than that!
@BourbonBiscuits I married a life long die hard UK fan. Met when I was in grad school at UK. I'm from Penn State football and wrestling country so the whole basketball insanity was a shock to me. I usually let him have the room when they play and the kids and I go elsewhere! He definitely yells at the tv!!
@BourbonBiscuits- I went to Duke for law school and so if I have to have an allegiance, that's it (my undergrad was not a sports school). But it's a really vague occasional, only if I have to, allegiance.
@BelleBaby it’s such a bizarre obsession when you haven’t lived it your whole life. Like soccer for Europeans. My husband is a huge basketball guy and even he couldn’t believe the craziness around Kentucky basketball when we moved back home.
@sjnsjnsjn my grandfather went to Duke too, so at least someone was pleased lol.
I am an extroverted introvert. Never quite fit into either category… so here I am! A little bit of both.
I’ve lived in the same town my whole life. To save money, I commuted to college, so I didn’t get a chance to move then. DH bought “our place” before we were engaged and we are here now. Sometimes, I find it comforting, and sometimes, I get completely wigged out that it’s possible I could never live somewhere else!
I find cooking and baking relaxing and almost therapeutic!
I feel like I have two energy levels- energizer bunny and sloth. Trying to find a better balance so I don’t burn myself out.
I work hard. My job is important to me not for the paycheck, but for what I contribute to society. I take it seriously!
I sometimes feel that I’m losing who I am during this pregnancy. I find I’m *always* thinking about it, and I feel so fortunate to be pregnant, but … trying to remember who I am and not think about it all the time. Guess this might be prepping me for the big life focus shift!
I pretty much have the best DH in the world. I don’t know what I did to deserve him. I still am in awe at times!
I wish I was better at following through on personal goals. When it comes to education and my job, I am constantly getting degrees, endorsements, taking classes, etc… but practicing hand lettering? Started, but stopped a few weeks later.
I freak out if anyone comes over and my place is not magazine/photo-shoot perfect. Pretty much I don’t allow that (anyone to see it) to happen!!! I love things neat and organized, but I SUCK at putting things away. I call it my “lived in home”… that I don’t want to have anyone over to because I wouldn’t want anyone to see!!! What’s up with that?! I’m weird.
I did a minimalist challenge last summer and it was life changing! I’m still working on it (ahem… #9 above) but wow.
1. I live in the maritimes of a Canada. 2. I've been with DH for almost 12 years. 3. We got married about 1 year ago. 4. I sell personal insurance. (Travel, health and life insurance), I started in medical administration and ventured over to insurance. 5. My husband races stock car and we spend our Summer and early Fall at the race track. 6. I am a huge wimp and freak out when I watch any horror/creepy movies and TV. I still end up watching some though since DH likes them, I just lose a bit of sleep and have a hard time doing laundry in my basement for a few days following it. lol 7. I may have an obsession with the Birth Hour podcast and have listened to almost all the episodes. 8. DH and I are huge music festival/live music fanatics. We went to a rock/metal 2 day outdoor festival where we tented for for 3 nights to attend when I was 28 weeks pregnant last time. We wanted to see one specific band and there was no way I was missing them. 9. My first language is French. 10. We are team green and I truly don't think we will have names for this kid regardless of what they are.
@ohsunnydays my house has had unpacked moving boxes in it for 2 months and shit scattered everywhere. I don’t like having people over either for any reason. If I waited for magazine perfect nobody would ever come in my door again I have no sense of style and my husband is a slob.
@ohsunnydays I struggle with feeling like I lose myself while pregnant too. It’s such a challenge and I do think it continues (for me at least) into motherhood. That’s part of the reason I struggle with maternity leave too because it takes up my entire identity
@allthingsgo On the first of the month, you get rid of (donate, throw away, etc) one item you do not need any more. Day two of the month, two items, day three, three items... through the end of the month! It was so freeing. What started it for me was watching the Minimalism documentary - stumbled upon it on Netflix. you can read more at www.theminimalists.com/start/ -- the essays are really helpful to understand more and get started. @cmjenkies I wouldn't judge you!!! Maybe I can blame whatever i'm not happy on with my "lived in" house on my baby! LOL like he can immediately mess up the house at a few days old.
1. Born in Los Angeles, been in the Portland area since just before kindergarten. 2. I consider myself a connoisseur of French dip sandwiches. 3. I did hair for 10 years. My heart was no longer in it after DD was born. 4. I had such bad anxiety that I couldn’t stand in lines or be in a mall for all of high school. 5. For the same reason I haven’t driven since 2002. It’s a pain in my ass. 6. I thank Dirty Dancing for getting me into 60s music. I’ve been watching it since it came out, much to my grandma’s chagrin. 7. I’m naming this daughter after said grandmother. She lived with us my entire childhood. 8. I’m a very proud lefty. 9. The randomness could easily be an honorary #11 for my pregnant thought process.
1. I just baked delightful cinnamon buns for a potluck at work tomorrow. And tested one 2. I hate potlucks. I like knowing what to expect before I put it in my mouth and watching people eat my food makes me anxious. 3. I grew up on a large sheep farm and loved the lifestyle but it's utterly incompatible with DH's allergies. 4. Sushi is my absolute favourite food thanks to a grandma who grew up in Japan and yet I married a guy allergic to all seafood. 5. We were 17 and 18 when we started dating. We met in English class and our teacher was awful. 6. I didn't care about it at all at the time but now I cherish the fact that we were each other's firsts in many senses. 7. Our birthdays are a 364 days apart, it's quite convenient! 8. My mother is from England so half my family lives there, including my incredible 97 year old grandmother. 9. I'm 27 but some days I barely feel like an adult. Having a baby makes me nervous in that regard but I try to be confident that I will manage somehow. 10. I work for the public service and am going through my first change in government. It's both fascinating and fucking stressful. I'm so thankful for the stability of my job but some days it also makes me feel trapped because I know I'll probably never find something I could justify leaving over.
1. I am the youngest of three, and my oldest sibling (my bro) is adopted, although he was adopted at the age of 5, after my older sister was already around. (I was not to arrive for three more years.) 2. I am the opposite of you, @ohsunnydays: I was born in California, lived in Oregon as a small child, then grew up mainly outside Seattle, live in NYC for net 17 years, broken up by three in the middle for law school in NC, and then moved to Chicago 4.5 years ago. 3. I'm 42 and my gent is 36, and we're not married. I met him after I moved to Chicago. 4. In 2010, I got married to my boyfriend of 6 years, despite reservations I was not admitting at the time, and ended it about a month later. 5. I'm a lawyer for the government and I want to find a new job and/or career but that's on hold now. 6. This pregnancy seems so weird, because despite being planned and wanted, I have not really connected to the idea that it is real and I have another child coming, and I have done nothing to prep for him. 7. I am a cat person but we have a dog. 8. I'm with @izzfrancisco in that I really miss drinking. 9. My whole family lives thousands of miles away and I see them once or twice a year. 10. I used to travel a lot and have been to many countries, many parts of the US, many music fests, etc.

I applied to grad school while ttgp, for the fun of learning since I already have a masters degree, so that's my new hobby outside of work. 4. I really enjoy my job! 5. If eating only fruit was healthy, I would be all in. 6. The heated seats in my car are my favorite feature. 7. I am going to miss being able to go skiing this coming winter. 8. One of my baby showers is supposed to be a surprise, but H told me about it. 9. I am ready to start decorating for Christmas. 10. I don't like Halloween.
@becks_726 I'm also 27 and already have one kiddo - definitely still don't feel like an adult. I thought I would wake up as a mom and miraculously feel grown up but that certainly did not happen lol. It does make me laugh remembering being a kid and thinking my parents had it ALL figured out. They were probably just as clueless as we are!
@thechickendance- With you so hard about the skiing. I am a lifelong skier and it's one of my favorite things, and my SO, who is a beginner who started skiing when we met, is planning two different ski days/excursions this winter and IT IS KILLING ME WITH JEALOUSY!

I am not normally a healthy eater, but ever since I got pregnant this baby has turned off all my my desire for chocolate. 6. I worry that my mom or my MIL will read what I write on this board. I don't actually have any reason to think they would, it's just this overwhelming anxiety that I'm being watched and judged. 7. I'm a big dork and I hate it when people say pregnancy is ten months long. It's actually an average of 8.4 months long if you begin from implantation. (That's 40 weeks divided by an average month of 30.4 days minus the average 23 days between LMP and implantation.) 8. Yesterday I realized none of my (college age) students have ever heard a car backfire and I felt really old. 9. I miss cocktails like nobody's business. 10. I also miss sex like nobody's business.
I miss wine and beer. I actually caved and drank some mediocre alcohol free beer on the weekend. I can't wait to have a guilt free glass of red wine, cozied up on the couch, in front of the fireplace...
@becks_726- I was buying the FRE wine for a while, which is a seriously poor substitute, but the grocery store that had it by me doesn't any more and so now I am substitute-less. I am fairly certain I'll have a glass of real wine at the wedding I go to this weekend, and I feel fine about that.
1. I’m Norwegian, went to Uni in Glasgow, Scotland and currently live in Seattle, WA. 2. Despite having always lived in places known for their cold, rain and snow, I prefer hot weather. 3. I’m almost 30 and still don’t have my driver’s license. I’ve only driven a car once (my grandma’s car with my dad, in an empty parking lot) and it TERRIFIED me. 4. I have an art degree and I’ve sold paintings and exhibited in cool places (on The Mall in London!), but completely stopped making art for no good reason a couple years ago. I had a guilt free glass of wine last night. I probably have a glass a month after the halfway point. I still miss it like crazy but it’s wonderfully relaxing to savor a glass of wine at night
