When is your appointment? I have my weekly norms Tues, Thurs, and Fri - NST and BPP w/ OB, NST w/ MFM, and nurse visit for makena shot. How far along will you be? 35+2, +4, +5 What is being addressed? OB said she would be doing GBS swab and "blood work". Not sure what the blood work is. I think I might ask her to do A1C just because I haven't had one in 6 months. Also going to ask her if I can stop my Makena after this week instead of next. Normally you take it to 36 weeks and I get my shot at 35+5. My induction is scheduled for 38 weeks exactly, so I don't see why I can't be given the chance to go into labor on my own. I'll also ask about a membrane sweep at my 37+2 appointment... Comment/Questions/Concerns: How is it that 3 weeks sounds like such a short time and long time all at once? jeez. I feel AWFUL even thinking this, but sometimes I feel like baby girl could come RIGHT NOW and it would be fine. With DS showing up at 29 weeks, I know Everly would be fine if she decided to make her entrance a bit sooner than planned. However, I still think making it to 37 weeks ("full term") would be some kind of personal goal met for me.
@middleschoolmommy It sucks that your Makena is a different day of the week than your regular OB! That would have driven me nuts. Makena got me to 39w with DS2...went into labor on my own but I know what you mean about wanting to stop the shot early.
I had DS1 at 35w. Currently 33w4d with the twins and feel like I would be okay with them coming anytime after 34. Just as long as they avoid NICU like big brother did.
Add me to the list of so ready to have this dude but also so thankful that I made it this far! It feels good to know I’m not the only one! It’s a little strange for sure!
I go tomorrow, I’m not really sure what to expect at this appointment. I’m seeing one of my male doctors so im sure it’ll be quick in and out. I am considering asking for a membrane sweep but Idk if I will. I mostly want to be done because I’m having a hard time with my toddler. He’s having a needy phase and I can barely handle picking him up. Makes me feel terrible!
I hope everyone’s appointments go good and everyone gets good news!
When is your appointment? Tuesday, Oct 16 (my wedding anniversary!)
How far along will you be? 36+5
What is being addressed? Regular weekly appointment, and anesthesia consult.
Comment/Questions/Concerns: Always worried about fluid levels and glucose intolerance, but they were resolved at last ultrasound, so I'm probably needlessly worried. Otherwise, no particular things to bring up. Buuut I'm still in disbelief that I'm having a baby. Really? A baby? How did this happen?
@wildrainbow rooting for you and your little one today! prayers for an uncomplicated entry into the world for little one, and an easy and quick recovery for you mama. much love. looking forward to your birth announcement!
Well my appointment was definitely boring. I had a pretty rough night last night. Lots of contractions and just over all felt like crap. Couldn’t eat or sleep. Thought for sure we’d be going in, but he fizzled out. This morning I could barely walk, sooo much pressure and sharp shooting pains. Found out I dilated a half cm more and he dropped a little lower. So not much of a change. My dr said he thinks this week but I still feel like this is going to be my guy who takes me all the way. Again, we shall see!
What is being addressed? Fetal NST and meeting with my OB. He and I need to have a chat about my birth plan...we talked about it briefly, but we've had some changes lately and I want to make sure we're all on the same page to attempt a vaginal delivery for the twins.
Comment/Questions/Concerns: Our goal date for delivery got moved from 11/2 (37w) to 10/26 (36w) due to the babies' growth slowing down, so I'm definitely freaking out a little and have a sneaking feeling that it will be sooner than 10/26. I have no real indications of that other than a gut feeling (other than the actual size being smaller, everything else looks good for me and the babes). My mom also gets into town tonight from out of state and she asked if she could come with me to my appointments. I said no because the NSTs are done in such a small room there would barely be space for her and I just don't want to deal with her there. I have a very good relationship with my OB and we know how to communicate. My mom and I have VERY different personalities and she likes to believe we are a lot closer than we are...I'm just not comfortable with her being in that space with me. I'm sure she's a little pissed at me for saying no, but she'll get over it when the babies are here and she can fawn over them.
When is your appointment? Tomorrow I go in for my regular weekly appointment.
How far along will you be? 37weeks + 2 days
What is being addressed? I have no idea. I will probably get the flu shot while I am there since I still haven't gotten it yet but other than that, they just said I should start coming in every week.
Comment/Questions/Concerns I have been having minor freak outs where I suddenly think that something is wrong with the baby. Everything so far has shown that he is doing well but I still freak out that all of a sudden, something could be wrong. I think being really nervous about giving birth for the first time is also not helping the situation. Hopefully the appointment tomorrow will help ease my mind.
What is being addressed? NST and fluid check. Baby is measuring way ahead and they told me I will be having a C section when I deliver. I’m all sorts of emotional about it since I didn’t have a C section with either of my other munchkins.
Comment/Questions/Concerns: I’m having contractions - nothing consistent but they are happening multiple times during the day. Im only 37 weeks and both my other kids weren’t born until 40+ weeks so I’m hoping to make it at least 2 more weeks.
What is being addressed? Just a 37 week check up and discussion of my hemorrhoid issue.
Comment/Questions/Concerns: Baby is great which is what matters most. I, however, am super bummed (touché for what’s about to follow) regarding my hemorrhoid situation. My OB took one look and was like “ya, it’s bad” and immediately referred me to a colorectal doctor. I saw him later this afternoon. It is a thrombosed hemorrhoid and has earned me bed rest, Tylenol with codeine and a special butt cream. This third baby is for sure making it known that I am DONE with pregnancy. It is so incredibly painful. I’ve never had to deal with bedrest and am hoping it is short-lived. Wednesday is my follow up appt with the colorectal doctor. If it has gone down some in size, he will remove some of my restrictions. Thank god my short term disability will cover up to 9 weeks. It is only at 60% pay, but better than nothing. I still have so much work to do but am just going to save up my hours worked during my short term disability time to use for the unpaid part of my leave.
@wannaflickone - oh no! That sounds painful. And yes, thank goodness for the disability leave. I hope you heal quick so you can be done with the bedrest.
@laasmith & @ftm_jen - thanks for the reassurance! I'm hoping all the anxiety is just from being a first time mom. And you're right, not even dreams are safe.
@wannaflickone Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that. That sounds truly awful. I hope the doctor's recommendations help and you start to feel better soon. Also hope that they go away on their own ASAP!
NST and fluid check. Baby is measuring way ahead and they told me I will be having a C section when I deliver. I’m all sorts of emotional about it since I didn’t have a C section with either of my other munchkins.
I'm curious about this. How ahead? How big? I had a gigantic first baby and this one is also gigantic. They offered me a c-section but in no way suggested it was mandatory.....
GBS test and finding out if baby boy is still breech.
Comment/Questions/Concerns:
They did an ultrasound last week to confirm he was breech so idk if they're going to do another one or what. I'm basically waiting until 38 weeks and hope he flips otherwise I need to consider an external cephalic version. Sounds/looks painful. Ugh.
What is being addressed? NST, BPP, OB exam and GBS
Comment/Questions/Concerns: baby was super active again and they said his heart monitoring results look fantastic. They also captured some real contractions during the monitoring so that was nice to have them see those just so they know I’m not confusing BH and non-BH. I’m only 1cm dilated after having contractions off and on since Friday night, so that’s a little disappointing. Amniotic fluid is still high and baby is huge but they didn’t measure via u/s. Still on track for induction 10/25
Just went to my appts, everything looks good. The anethesiologist was like someone from a tv show-- definitely a "bro" vibe who made jokes and seemed unconcerned about a regular ol' OB epidural. It was kinda funny
I finally saw my actual OB-- I haven't seen her since June. Everything is good, I'm 36+5 and 1cm dilated, 50% effaced. She said that as long as my blood pressure stays normal, they won't need to induce, but if it starts creeping up (I have chronic hypertension), they might induce around 39 weeks, or earlier if needed.
When is your appointment? Monday, Tuesday, and Friday How far along will you be? 34w, 34+1, 34+4 What is being addressed? Monday and Friday are my chiropractor appointments. Monday was good because I've noticed a difference in my pain and tolerance with the hip. This morning was my 34 week check up and I was pleasantly surprised to get to meet the new certified nurse midwife at my practice. I've also scheduled my 36 week appointment with her and am looking forward to discussing my birth plan with her more. She even took the time to confirm baby's position is still good. I also got my flu shot. Comment/Questions/Concerns: My only outstanding question that the CNM is chasing down, is whether or not I will qualify to give birth at the Natural Birthing Center. I will be able to have the birth I want pretty much otherwise, so I'm not super stressed or anything, but I did like the tub they had there better. Since I spend a lot of time in water for pain management, and since the NBC is nicer to have my kids at in the event we can have the children there with us, I just wanted to see if we could qualify.
Comment/Questions/Concerns: My fluids decreased. Last Tuesday they were at 29, Friday they were at 35 and today they are back to 29. But my doc isn't satisfied...so my csection has been bumped from Nov 8th to Oct 22nd!
@lifesabeach85 The one thing that the previous midwife who is in charge of the center mentioned was my BMI pre-baby. It's borderline, and they don't have the documentation online or a hard-and-fast list published anywhere for you to figure out how one would qualify. Other things that typically rule people out is if they're high-risk or require induction. Since I did get induced with the previous two children, I wouldn't be surprised if that alone would rule me out.
At my appointment yesterday we scheduled my induction for 10/28 (36w 3d)!! $h!t just got real!! I go in tomorrow and Friday to get steroid shots to boost the twins' growth/development and then a couple scans next week just to make sure we're on track.
I had my 34 week check up yesterday and am thankful that this pregnancy has been uneventful. I did officially get my induction scheduled for 39 weeks on 11/20! I can't believe I'll be holding a baby in 32 days.
We're also team green so I'm dying to know if my hunch is right (I think it's a girl).
In the meantime I'm getting my baby fix from all these cute babies being born!
Had my 35wk appt yesterday and found out that because of the ICP I’ll be induced next Thursday or Friday so long as my perinatologist is on board. So I got a steroid shot yesterday and going back today for the second one. Hopefully the twins can avoid a NICU stay.
Two Furbabies: Mika (american eskimo) and Gypsy (wire-haired terrier, dachshund mix)

Size ultrasound and appt yesterday at 37w 5 days. Still only 1 cm and baby is still high. Also measuring 8.5 lbs so we are scheduled for induction monday 10/29 at 39w 2 days. Going early bc last one went to 41 weeks and was 10lbs 12 oz. Trying to avoid a repeat of that! I go next thursday for my last appt and to see if I've dilated anymore. If I don't, they will take me in the night before for the cervidil. Had that last time. It sucks bc you have to sleep there over night and uncomfortably strapped up to monitors which i find IMPOSSIBLE to sleep that way. Then push out a baby the next day and there goes your sleep for months. But I'm pretty sure that's going to end up happening........
Had a basic OB appointment today that turned into an ultrasound to check baby’s size. I’m 35+3 and baby measured 39-40 weeks across the measurements. Estimated at 8lbs 1oz already. My OB is not keen on inducing simply due to size, so she put me on strong diet restrictions (zero carbs and sugars) to hopefully lessen the amount of glucose getting to baby and to hold off weight gain while letting him/her cook longer. I see her in two weeks for a basic check up, then the week after that we’ll do another ultrasound to check size again and determine if baby is ready to come out. If so, she’ll induce me on November 13th at 39 weeks exactly.

OMG thats huge! I had a 10 lb 12 oz baby at 41 weeks last time. This one is on a similar path so we are inducing at 39 weeks. Measured 7lb1oz at 34+5 and 8lb8oz at 37+5. You are even bigger!! I hope they can reign that in a little. I was never put on any food restrictions. I had no idea that could work but it makes sense.
@Eveinshock Oh my gosh, 10lbs 12oz! That’s nuts! Did you have GD or just “incubate well” (as my mom puts it)? I had no idea food restrictions could help either, but the way my OB described why makes sense. We’ll see if it works, but I’m glad she’s willing to induce if it doesn’t.

no GD. He was also 22.5 inches so thankfully the weight was a bit spread out. I don't know what it is really. I am 5'9 and my mom had fairly big babies, (I was 9lb 1 oz). My MIL doesn't remember but her kids are pretty big now as adults (SIL is 6', husband 6'4, BIL 6'9).
Lemme just warn you I delivered vaginally and it was rough recovery. I'm hoping the 2 week difference in delivery (41 wks to 39) makes a big difference.
When is your appointment? It was today How far along will you be? 35+5 What is being addressed? It was a normal weekly check Comment/Questions/Concerns: Baby is measuring exactly the same as last week based on fungal height, so I have to go back for a growth ultrasound. Pretty far ahead- they said 3-4 weeks. I’m high risk because of a rare condition called Pregnancy and Lactation Induced Osteoporosis (diagnosed when I spontaneously sustained 8 fractures on my thoracic spine a few weeks after my second was born) so they don’t want to mess around with anything that could cause my brittle bones more fractures. I’m pretty nervous about the c section. But I also don’t want a labor/delivery like I had with my first who was over 9 lbs, needed forceps, I tore and needed to be cut, it was brutal.
@Eveinshock Sounds like we’re pretty similar.. I’m 5’10” and my mom had ginormous babies (I was 9lbs 15oz). MIL said her two were both in the low 7lbs, and DH is 6’4” and BIL 6’3”. I’m honestly terrified to try to deliver vaginally if this baby gets much bigger..
