Recovering from my illness, which seems to mostly be over! I’ve been able to tend to DS this morning and eat a few things without throwing up. H was so awesome yesterday, I don’t know how anyone survives without a supportive SO. I’m glad I was able to let him sleep in this morning. About to shower to hopefully feel human again. Taking it easy the rest of the day but we should really unpack from our vacation. There’s just stuff everywhere since yesterday was such a 💩 show. We’re hopefully going out to breakfast tomorrow, but no other plans.
We are moving to our new house today. I’m taking a nap in my car while the movers load everything up on their truck. Lots to do, so I’m glad my husband has stepped up to take care of everything for now so I can get some rest.
Trying to create a list of productive things to do today. No big plans otherwise, but I need to go grocery shopping, and my whole house is just one big giant mess.
It’s DD2’s birthday today. I somehow managed to get my house from disaster zone to more-or-less acceptable in an hour and a half. We had a whirlwind mini birthday party with my in laws (presents, cake pops) and now I’m giving DD2 a bath with DD1 and her cousin play downstairs and I’m already exhausted. My parents are coming by this afternoon and at some point I want to take pictures of DD2 in her new big sister shirt.
I feel kind kind of bad because DD2 isn’t really getting much of a birthday party... but I always arranged a full party for DD1. Oh, second child syndrome...

My DD is having her birthday party today too. My parents are here, so we got everything done super easy and it feels like we’re just twiddling our thumbs. I feel like shit because I ate some sugary cereal for breakfast, so im hoping to rally for party time.
@stringofhearts I’m so jealous of your ambition! I have always wanted to make my kids Halloween costumes but have no idea where to start. Also I have no idea how to sew! I recently bought a sewing machine and attempted to make a baby blanket...epic fail. I want some of those stretchy jersey knit swaddles you see on Etsy but can’t fathom paying $30 for a piece of fabric!
@babynurse1114 jersey is difficult bc it’s so stretchy - I struggle with super stretchy knits too. But my project is mainly fleece and felt so pretty simple. I’m not using a pattern to make the tail for dd1’s dinosaur costume so 🤞 it turns out okay. You might be able to find some tutorials on youtube to help? I would try starting with a piece of flannel or muslin for baby blankets bc they don’t stretch.
I managed to get 3 loads of laundry put away and still doing more. Even got my living room clean.
I would do dishes but our pipes are old and you cant run any water while washing clothes or they don't get clean.
Still hoping to not feel exhausted.

I mustered up all my energy to go grocery shopping and now it's been half an hour since I got home and I still haven't put away the groceries 😭 I can't get up. I'm so exhausted.
@stringofhearts thank you! My mom said the same thing...Jersey is not the best material to use for your first sewing project 😂 I think I’ll try flannel next 🤞
Ughhh I just spent $300 on groceries and I have no idea what to make for dinner.
My husband is super pissed thst i refuse to cook. So hes in the kitchen making hot dogs and ramen raging out. Everytime i walk in he tells me "don't touch me" 😂

@eatinwatermelonseeds normally he would but the mortgage is due monday so he knows we can't afford to. Otherwise he would totally get taco bell.

We went out for breakfast today and took DD to the kids museum. I clearly overdid because now I have a low fever and feel very lightheaded. Laying in bed for the rest of the day.
@psychobutthead oh shit taco Bell sounds so good. I bought taco meat but forgot tortillas 😭
Do you have lettuce? You can iust make taco salad bowls. If you have doritos or tortilla chips crush a few up and put on top.

No, we just have spinach. Which sounds terrible with taco meat 😂
I vote to either send the dh out for what you forgot or for some taco bell. If i had the money we'd totally have taco bell. Problem is my kids are so picky and have to have their own special orders. No ones happy with a taco pack.

I slept for 10 hours last night and when I woke up at 9 a.m. I laid on the couch and didn't get up till about 2pm. Finally managed to vacuum dust and put some stuff away but I think I'm going to take a few hours break before I start to fold some laundry. I used to love coffee but now I can't stand the smell and the only thing that makes me feel slightly better is a Coke. Even before pregnancy I would only have soda maybe once a week and now I catch myself having it at least once a day. The caffeine definitely helps but there's something about the carbonation that makes me feel so much better and I've tried it with caffeine free ginger ale but it's just not the same. Too lazy to cook so I'm popping a frozen pizza in the oven. So lazy today!!!
Hockey at 8, gymnastics at 10 and 3 hours standing in 38 degrees and rain at a football game I am exhausted! On the plus side we told the ils and our boys about baby yesterday and everyone is so excited! Ds1 did a happy dance around the living room and has been bubbling ever since. Tomorrow will be more running around but at least the ils are in town and can help out a little bit.
Today ended up being a pretty good day. Went grocery shopping and then cooked dinner, we played pie face, made ice cream sundaes and watched a movie in bed. My husband bought my son a nerf gun and they played with it together for a while.
Pretty sure DS got spoiled by constant attention over vacation both with us and family/friends. He is sooooo whiny now and won’t play with his toys by himself at all. And by himself I mean we are sitting right. there. He’ll crawl over to us and whine/cry. I hope this doesn’t last long or our sanity won’t keep. Hoping to go to breakfast this morning!
Hey y’all, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but it is pretty random, haha.
So, I’ve been getting bad migraines the last couple weeks I’ve taken tylenol a couple times but it doesn’t really help so I don’t really take it. What I have done a couple times is put Icy Hot on my neck because it really helps with the tension there and the smell helps the migraine. Well, I’m stupid and didnt even think to check the label and of course it says to ask your doctor before use during pregnancy...I didn’t even think about it! Google seems pretty split on whether or not I should be panicking, haha. Of course it’s Sunday and I don’t really think I should all the emergency line...have any of you talked to your docs about this? Or do any of you have any knowledge about whether or not I should be panicking? Haha. Ugh. I will call my doc first thing in the morning. TIA!

We spent yesterday at the pumpkin patch and then my parents took my daughter for the night, so my husband and I actually got some rest and quiet time. Now I’m laying in bed watching the snow fall. I guess fall was nice for that one day. 😳
Omg has anyone else watched that new show on netflix? Its called the Curious Creations of Christine McConnell. I really liked it. I probably won't make most the stuff on the show because I'm not crafty what so ever but I really enjoyed it and the morbid sense of humor.
Today I am still trying to finish up laundry. Its never ending.

We took the girls to the zoo to go trick or treating yesterday, which meant they completely missed their nap window. That wouldn't normally be a big deal (we'd just put them to bed early) but we had them signed up for Kids Night Out at our YMCA, which is a 5-9 event with dinner, crafts, and games for the kids where we could drop them off and go do our thing. Their bedtime is 8, so no nap and late bed. You'd think they would be part out now during today's nap...nope. They're both in their respective rooms singing loudly to each other through closed doors 😑 100% going to bed early tonight.
On a related note, due to them being at their event we got to go out for dinner. We went to an old historic inn/restaurant in town and I had fancy macaroni and cheese (*ale* cheese!! 🤗) with smoked chicken and sausage. Also they have a bacon bourbon spread to put on their complimentary homemade biscuits, plus the best ever salad with arugula, apple sticks, pecans, and fresh grated cheddar. I'm hungry just thinking about it all again.....
We did the pumpkin patch thing today and it’s was awesome. DD2 didn’t do very well in the corn maze, but they loved everything else.
Also, on our way there, we noticed one of our neighbours had a whole bunch of houseplants out on the curb for free. We stopped and scooped them all. Any of you know houseplants? They’re all tropical, apparently, but I don’t know about species or how to care for them.

@k2k2tog I know some houseplants, if you want help IDing feel free to post photos. ☺️ Biggest thing you want to look out for with discarded plants like that are spider mites and mealybugs (google for photos) - some people toss them out rather than trying to eradicate if the infestation is serious. If the leaves are damaged with holes, or shriveled, check the undersides of leaves and stems for mites. Mealybugs are easy to see, white and kind of fuzzy-looking. There are some great houseplant groups on facebook where I’ve learned a lot too.
@stringofhearts These ones all look good! Our neighbour was out when we saw them and stopped to grab them. Apparently, they have a ton indoors as well, and every summer, they pot some cuttings and fill their backyard as well. But, they have no space inside for all the new plants, so they just put them out for free.

We're going to a Halloween party at our neighbors on actual Halloween. I've been on Pinterest searching for ideas for food to bring. I want to bring a sweet dessert and a savory appetizer. This baby must be craving spicy savory because all the Halloween themed taco dips and jalapeno poppers look amaaaaazing. Like, I want them NOW. And queso. Meanwhile, anything that is delicious yet made to look gory/gross (such as an amputated hand which is shaped cheese wrapped in prosciutto, or the vomiting pumpkins of guacamole or various dips) make me feel like I'm going to hurl.
