@Mandamay1414 Aaron would have been our boy name, too, but we're having a girl. I also struggled with the Key and Peele skit, but it's such a good name.

@sparkymcgeee I've been wondering about you! I thought you were just busy or something. Welcome back!
Thanks. I was busy with work because our manager was out and so was our lead. So I was left to hold down the fort but it was mostly bump issues keeping me away. I'm glad it's working again!
Just found out we're having a boy, so we've started brainstorming boy names again. Right now our top two ideas are Garrett or Dean, but we're not completely set on either of those so still thinking of other ideas. We have a long last name, so we want to try and stick to something short and simple for a first name.
@sparkymcgeee glad to see you back! I have been thinking of you and hoping your a/s results were good!
@cait32 I am not southern either but DH swears all of my name choices have a southern ring to them. So it makes sense that I’m drawn to that combo! Our last name is also two syllables which is why I prefer at least one of the names (middle or first) to be a bit longer.

what do do you guys think about the name Grider for a boy? Be honest. (It’s a last name but we really like it). I’ve never heard of it being used and a first name but thought it sounded so masculine and different. It would likely be Grider Benjamin. Thanks
Agree on the Grider leads to Grinder for me too. Love the name Noah! DH is set on Eleanor for us. I want to call her Nellie as it was my grandma's name, but DH wants it to be short for something. Is Eleanor super popular right now? Nameberry says it is and I know at least 2 baby Eleanors. That is my main deterrent. MN will be Jane, so either Nellie Jane or Eleanor Jane...
@kerryann124 You could definitely use Nellie as a nickname for Eleanor. Eleanor is growing in popularity. It didn't even crack the 100s forever then we named DD2 Eleanor in 2016 and it was #60 that year. My grandma is Eleanor so it's popularity didn't matter to us. In fact I'm glad it will be more common and not an 'old lady name' like I always thought of it. We do call her Ellie most of the time.
@wildcat2017 I also agree that Grider reminds me of Grinder, but my mind thinks of someone grinding something, not the app (I didnt know the app existed) and I think Ryder is a good name, so the "G" sounds out of place.
Right now Aubrey or Audrey are the top names on our list- middle name will be Cylista which is my MILs middle name- DD1 has my mom and my middle name- so I let DH choose DD2s MN :-)
I LOVE Aubrey... DD1 is Aubrey so I guess I’m biased. But I will tell you she gets Audrey A LOT! The other thing I get a lot is “did you name her after Drake?” Uh no, I named her Aubrey because it’s pretty.
@pinkj4182 I'm leaning towards Aubrey because I think Bre (or however you spell it) could be a cute nickname, I can't think of a nickname for Audrey- and I love nicknames!
I just had to google Drake because I didn't realize the connection lol.
DD1 is Cecelia and people always think she is named after the song- which I didn't even think of until like a month after she was born!

Aubrey was our top pick for a girl, but we're having a boy. I think it's a really pretty name and Bree/Bre/Bri is an adorable nickname too.
So I think we're pretty set on Lorelei Louella. It actually flows pretty well with our last name. DS still gets to name his baby sister Lorelei and DH gets his MN choice. DH just added her to our Disney trip for next year and put her name in there so I don't see us changing it.
I think we are pretty set on Isaac, DD is Isabelle so omgoshhhh we are doing the matching thing I never wanted to do but it’s the name we like the best! DD calls him Baby Cake and is insisting that we will name him that.

I biased because DS is Isaac but it's one of the best boy names ever. Just be prepared to have people spell it wrong. Like it's one of the oldest names in the history of the recorded world but still people assume it's two S's and not two A's. I don't even know.
@AliKay20 boy names are hard for us too!!!!! I keep loving girl names.
I think we're almost solid on Jackson Allen! Which I would be THRILLED with. DH is slowly coming back around. He used to love the name, then thought it was too teensy, but after hearing people confirm that Jack is an old classic (which is likely what we'd call him most often anyway) he's coming back to like it most.
We are set on Ada Ward. We love the name Ada- lots of strong women in history and not very popular now- and Ward is my mom's maiden name and me and my sister's middle name and means a lot to me. DH last name is very long and traditional so I think its a great fit!
Hey guys! One more name question for you. My husband has two sisters, Elizabeth but she goes by Liz and Katherine but she goes by Katie. My first name is Elizabeth but I go by my middle name. We are having twins and team green. My husband is dead set on family names and suggested Catherine and Elizabeth if we are having girls. If we did do this, would it be weird to his sisters or an honor to have both of their names? I honestly, love both but just am not sure what to do. We cannot agree on ANYTHING but these two names as I feel like they are good solid choices. Please send your thoughts! We wouldn’t shorten either to nicknames. Thank you!!!!!
@wildcat2017 I would use Elizabeth and Catherine for middle names. You may not want any nn for your kids but they might chose to go by nn! If you are naming them purposly after you/the sisters i would spell them both the same way.
@wildcat2017 I would do middle names if you want to honor those sisters. It seems weird to me that you would name both of your kids after HIS sisters even if one of them is your first name but it’s also a little bit sticky to have two people with the same name in the same family even if they have different middle names (my dad and bro are like this). Plus take it for what it’s worth but I think it’s kind of a little odd when people name people after people who are alive and still relatively young like they still have a chance to mess it up and make you regret naming your kid after them.
Haven't posted because DH and I have had NO idea for names for our little girl... until this weekend. We are thinking of Ovilee. Hopefully unique, pretty, and mostly phonetic. We aren't telling friends and family for fear of reactions - but I would be interested if any of you have strong feedback one way or the other? Also ISO short (1 or 2 syllable) middle names.

Honestly, I'm not a fan. It sounds made up, and doesn't sound like a name to me. It also makes me think of Ovaltine.

We decided we had to have a name for baby boy so we managed to actually made a decision. He is Neil and then my last name for the middle.
I love the name Neil!
