@katy0990 please tell me it’s just the one hour test!!

@LLynde5 Yes, thankfully, it is just the one hour!

@katy0990 this isn’t parenting advice by any means but I keep an emergency tootsie pop in my purse for the dreaded long waits!  I hope you have an old faithful trick to get you through that hour!!

@LLynde5 I’m sure I’ll be pulling out all the stops! Candy, screen time, whatever it takes!

@Katzalia Why are simple instructions so hard for some people?!?!?

@katy0990 Is there any way you could go early and pick up the drink so you can take it home and consume it day of? That's what I did for my GD test, so all I had to do was go into the lab for a blood draw. No waiting with a toddler!

@PensiveCrayon I wish! The procedure used to be that your OB gave you the drink, and you just drank it 45 minutes before arriving at the lab. That was what I did during my last pregnancy. However, apparently now you must consume it at the lab and you are not able to leave until the hour and blood draw is over.

@katy0990 I'm sorry your dad declined. It's difficult enough to ask for help and not feel like you're burdening someone.. but when your own family doesn't step up it hurts the heart. I hope the appointment goes well! <3

@clbness oh I hear you!  No angel over here, lol.  But then, it might also be why you are the right person for your husband!  You can keep him in check when need be but also have the patient and understanding if he gets a little off track.

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the affirmation! I have no problem watching my own child. It’s just annoying that I never ask him for anything (he actually never gave us the money he promised us 6 years ago for our wedding) and here I put myself out there, and ask and he isn’t willing. But, I’m sure here shortly be will be complaining about not getting enough time with DS.

@countrygirl624 If you have a health savings account, you should be able to use that. I will contact them first though, to find out how they want you to go about purchasing it.

@morgantu My brother ALMOST had that same issue, except when they listed the house the first time, they were unable to sell it. I think they ended up selling it 2.5 years later.

@kadeephd We are in the same general area so I can give my input on a babysitter. When I used a babysitter for DS while I went to the gym before I was back at work I was paying her $12 an hour.

@katy0990 That is frustrating! I actually have mine this weekend too and asked my mom if she could watch DS for me while I went. She told me my aunt will be visiting so she's not sure because they're supposed to go see my second cousin. Okay, first of all my appt is at 9:00am, there is no way you're going to visit that early. Second, my aunt hasn't seen DS in a year and a half, you'd think she'd want to see him. I am pretty sure she is still upset with me over something small and stupid that happened back when DS had just gotten out of the hospital and we were going through hell. They didn't even tell any of us she was coming!!

@countrygirl624 Seriously?! That's BS!! I thought all insurance companies covered breast pumps. I am sorry to hear that.

@clbness I am super close with MIL, I consider her a close friend. I would not go to her with any of our marital issues. I just feel like that would be a bad idea. I feel like it's a bad idea to involve family, but that's just me. I think if DH had an issue and I went to his mom, he'd probably be pretty upset about it.

@AdorkablePixie  Thanks!  That sounds reasonable to me.  I think we'd need about 6 hours a week of care so that's not too bad!

@katy0990 I sent them back a message confirming I can use my FSA/HSA account.

@AdorkablePixie They’re grandfathered in and also don’t cover birth control. But don’t worry - viagra is covered.

@countrygirl624 WHHHATTTT?!?!?!?! *eye roll* If they're not going to cover BC they should at least cover the postpartum necessities.

@countrygirl624 omg that would absolutely make me livid! How on Earth do they justify covering Viagra and not birth control or postpartum Essentials like a breast pump?! I seriously don't understand how these companies work or what the heck their thought processes are.

I’m tired of my colleagues. I use that loosely as they are not in my department, but I have to work with them. There should be no reason for a 10 reply email chain- just pick up The phone and have a direct conversation if it’s that complicated. Also to the lady who replies all with utter nonsense and thinks she is adding value to the conversation, where she is clearly missing the point- Stop just stop! I asked one question - when do you give this form out. She started with “well historically....”.

@Activebaby Ugh - that drives me nuts. Some people clearly don’t have enough on their plate when they do crap like that wasting everyone’s time. Definitely a pet peeve of mine!!

@scaredunprepared When Obama put into effect that companies were required to cover certain things to women companies were able to elect out if they chose to based on what exact rules I don’t know. I just know it’s a disappointment and I plan to bring it up to HR after I get my (hopefully) promotion next week. Lol. Don’t wanna rock the boat til I sign my new salary.

My bitch for the day is insurance. Just got a bill from my sons pediatrician for $89. I'm like wtf why am I getting a bill. Look on bcbs and apparently sep. 1st they became out of network....... first of all a fucking notice would have been nice. So now I have to find a new pediatrician in network for ds and newborn. Even though we absolutely love his doctor and have been going to him since ds was born. Plus that was one thing I didnt have to worry about, I completly trust that doctor with my newborn. Wtf happened after 3 years their all of a sudden out of network. Why have a flipping family doctor and have a pcp if at the drop of a hat you cant use them anymore.

@lavenderlisa Wow!! I can't believe they didn't let you know that they were going to be out of network. Sorry that's now something you have to worry about.

@rosebud332 I know that feeling sometimes. Sometimes it's nice when they're out and the house is quiet and sometimes it's just lonely.

@lavenderlisa that sucks that your pedi is now out of network. You should have been notified - that wasn’t nice. During my last pregnancy I used a group for my ultrasounds that my then OB office (use different one now) set me up with. 1st US was covered - just a copay, 2nd was very expensive. Turns out different physicians within the practice took different insurance. I was so mad. I thought that was not nice of them to not tell me that within the same practice some took my insurance but some didn’t. Again...I don’t use them anymore.

@lexidawg ugh, it should be considered cruel and unusual and we should be exempt from all illness! I seem to always get a gnarly head and chest cold a few weeks before I go into labor and it's pure torture. Finger's crossed it gets out of your system and you're feeling better quickly!!

@lavenderlisa sorry that you have to go through that with your insurance. It's the worst!!!

Remember how I was over this week already? I'm scared I'm coming down with something. My whole back just started spasming 10 minutes after I got to work and wouldn't get better. Sitting and standing both hurt like crazy and walking was only thing that was semi better. Then I got a sore throat by the afternoon. Taking some airborne and going to bed early now, fx it's nothing. I dont want to be sick!
