Some of us are at or near viability now (which blows my mind). 50-70% of babies born at week 24/25 survive, and more than 90% at week 26/27! Let's celebrate!
Funny you posted this today. I was reading one of my baby books in bed the other night and it said that babies born at the end of this month have a 50% chance of survival, so I mentioned it to my husband like, wow how cool is that? He looked at me super confused and I could tell he was wondering "why the end of this month?"
Then I realized... he thought I meant that babies born at the end of September only have a 50% chance of survival, not that the chances go up to 50% at the end of the 5th month of pregnancy. We shared a good chuckle after that.
Viability today! I'm still scared out of my mind something will go wrong but it's comforting to know that the doctors will do everything they can to save my baby at this point.
OMG... hit 24 weeks on Tuesday and though I know its not a silver bullet, its just nice to reach this milestone that I never was sure I would ever make!!!
