@babyhopeful442 Yes, Same here- My DH thinks, sometimes I am overreacting/overthinking.
@northbeach3 both my parents and my in-laws know about my IVF process and FET. My mom is close to me and she is infact helping me through this process by staying with us, My in-laws are doctors so we consulted them before starting IVF. Really close friends (couple) who knew my struggles with IF know about my IVF process, None of my pregnancies went beyond 6 weeks so never shared with extended family/friends. But nevertheless, everyone got to know about my first miscarriage. Since then I am trying to be more careful spreading the news.
I don’t check in for a day and I miss all the wonderful supportive replies! Thanks everyone for sharing your similar fears and concerns. It’s reassuring knowing I’m not alone in my feelings.
With the exception of my two close friends, I keep telling work friends and my SIL that “I’ll be starting another cycle soon” and leave it at that. I didn’t realize my DH had already told his mom an approximate month, which I’m pretty sure she probably blabbed to my SIL. Since my SIL is pregnant now via FET she’s been relatively understanding about the process and only occasionally wants to ask invasive questions. I think she’ll understand my fudging the timeline.
My MIL will have to get over it. She made me really upset when she wanted to start talking to me about the baby names I’d picked out. She saw how upset it made me and dropped it quickly. I hadn’t realized my DH showed her the list I’d shared with him via phone, so then I had to have a talk with him! Honestly, I wish DH would set better boundaries with her in this arena bc it really stresses me out. I already feel like I’ve let my DH down not being able to reproduce naturally. I don’t need the added burden of feeling I’ve let my MIL down to have another grand baby from her eldest son.
I’m also coming up on the EDD (10/7) from my first failed transfer. I think being PASP right now is buffering the additional negativity that id probably be feeling. I wanna check on some of the ladies from my initial cohort but dunno if that’ll make it better or worse.
Sometimes IF makes you ragey. Blah wish we had more betas to look forward to in the immediate future — so much hope in waiting for a beta. Haha. I guess we’ll jist have to keep biting our nails until these ultrasounds. Counting down the weeks!
Uhh so what are your re’s restrictions to baby dancing after FET?
TMI, but it’s been awhile and we baby danced last night. So I’m having some light brown spotting when I wipe. I’m pretty sure it’s from irritation of the cervix but I just want some reassurance that everything will be okay.
@Knottie1454544148 Congrats on two beautiful HB! @mrsyng My RE said no baby dancing all the way until ultrasound for HB. if everything goes well, no orgasms or baby dancing starting second trimester too because it increases the risk of preterm labor. i'm going to be pretty cranky this pregnancy... I'd call your RE just to check on the spotting, but spotting is pretty common i think in the first trimester.

@bkatp did get your numbers back today? (Maybe i missed it in the feed somewhere)? @northbeach3 i ended up calling the doctor back as i didnt want to worry and stress about it. He said the numbers arent precise and him being off even a little bit could make a big difference in the number and my little guy is hiding in a corner so he isn’t concerned at all. The little guy has a heartbeat and is progressively getting bigger. So i am going to try to take a chill pill and go back to just being happy (if i can). I can completely see where you are coming from in being hesitant about telling anyone. My SO is also being cautious about things working out (just because luck hasnt been on our side from the begining so he/(i) is always thinking something is going to go wrong. We had told his mother the first time we were pregnant but told her not to tell anyone (she toled EVERYONE) so when we had MC it was hard that everyone knew. This time nobody is finding out until the week of Christmas (other than my sister who is completely involved even though shes in another state. We just gotta believe that Sept is our lucky month. @mbradfo2 thanks for the words of encouragement! I keep telling myself i will not to go batty over every little thing but everytime something is not what i think it should be it sends me over the edge into pure panic. @kfs825 wow your picture is wonderful! You can see the spot where he/she is about to hatch from. I think its awesome that we can see such a variety of pictures and different stages of embryos (that and multiple u/s photos are the few perks of IF). I have my FX for you! @babyhopeful442 if its crazy to still want to POAS every morning than my DH is right and i am certifiable lol! i am still peeing on a Wondfo every morning (used to be 2x a day). But it makes me feel better. I think if it gives you some measure of reassurance.
AFM, i ended up bleeding again on saturday afternoon. It was bright red so i left work and immediately called my RE who got me in on sunday. Everything looked fine again and baby was now only measuring 1 day behind (crl of 5.49). However i do now have a “xs small” SCH going 1/3 of the length around the GS. The RE said that it will most likely resolve itself so im trying to not think miscarriage. However, the RE explained to me what was going on this week and im not sure if i am the only one to be unaware so im just gonna put out there what my RE told me and maybe it will give anyone that has cramping and/or spotting/bleeding if any color... spotting/bleeding and/or cramping is not unusual during 5-10 wks. The placenta is starting to implant into the uterus and if it is not quick/good enough at cutting off the blood vessels as it does so you can have some or all of the above symptoms. A SCH forms when the forming placenta is particularly slow at cutting off those blood vessels and blood pools between the GS and the uterus. All of which normally resolves itself once the placenta is done implanting (@ about 10wks). So it is possible to get implantion bleeding at this late in the game but its from the placenta not the embryo. And “spotting/bleeding is not necessarily a reason to panic as long as it stops within a few hours and doesnt fill a pad”. I was completely unaware of this and am now going to try to take a deep breath and remain calm.
@mrsyng my RE had cleared us to BD after we got out first beta. However has since changed his mind since finding the small SCH. He doesnt want it made worse so we are put on indefinite hold. The spotting could be from the placenta digging in or from your cervix being irritate. If its stops i would try not to worry (though I know that that is impossible at times).
@Momifbysea i have my FX for you for Thursday. The wait can be unbearable at times. I hated that my clinic made me wait 4 days in between betas and a week in between u/s.
@justharrison oh wow 4 days between betas?!? I hadn’t realized - how on earth did you stay sane? I don’t think I’ll truly relax until birth goes well, but it will get better after first trimester for sure. I’m so thankful for what you shared from your RE, I never knew all that!
good news you got a heartbeat @justharrison! still have my fingers crossed for you, everything will be ok! I'll take the nausea vibes anytime @northbeach3!!!!!! hahahaha your embryo is so perfect congratulations @kfs0875 ! congratulations @Knottie1454544148 on hearing the heartbeats that's so beautiful! @Momifbysea I love the POAS routine! anything that can give you extra reassurance go for it girl friend!
@justharrison thanks for sharing that info, It really helps - I have mild cramps now and then. My results came very late today almost towards end of the day. I had to move my ultrasound to Thursday (4th) since i got hcg done today, Here are the results
Beta 3 - 9084. Happy to see number above 2000. Just praying that it should not be blighted ovum
@justharrison thank you for sharing the info from your RE. It does help to calm a great deal of nerves. I’m really glad they were finally able to locate the bleed. Fx the little one will continue to grow strong.
@bkatp I haven’t made it past beta 1 before but that seems like an incredibly high number! Are you having nausea now? Also, your ultrasound will be the same day as my first beta so it will be a big news day for us!
As these days go on im getting so excited for us, lots of good positive progress! Enjoy your day everyone and keep breathing to stay calm!
@justharrison SCH can give you really scary amounts of blood! My sister had them in both of her pregnancies; they are worrying, but most of the time, as your doc said, they just resolve. You might get some more bleeding on and off though --- do you have a plan for that? Will you go back in for a scan?

@justharrison so glad to hear there are explanations for the spotting/cramps. Sounds like things are moving in the right direction so that’s very exciting
@bkatp yay for your recent beta. What DPT are you?
@Momifbysea only a few more days to go. Good thing you have your POAS ritual to get you through it.
@mayflower513 how are things? I peeked over on PAIF and saw you’ve been dealing with irregular HB. When is your next scan? I can only imagine what new challenges will present themselves if I actually get to graduate from the RE this time.
@mrsyng you’re a brave woman to BD. My doc said nothing in the vagina except suppositories until second US at nine weeks.
Afm, fatigue and sore boobs continue. Will be 5w0d tomorrow. Time is crawling.
Does anyone know at what point you get switched over to an OB? I am keeping my out of state insurance until end of calendar year, so I guess I'll need to find an OB up there and also one down here to transition to in January (see that positive thinking thing I'm doing there?)
@northbeach3 hey! Things are going ok. I’m struggling a lot with anxiety right now. I’m trying to be grateful to be here but every time I feel like I can relax something else comes up. So, one appointment at a time! I have an echo Thursday which will hopefully show no structural issues - that’s the best I can hope for right now. On one hand I’m ok with the extra monitoring but on the other I’d rather not have the reason behind it
How are you feeling?? I’ve been following you a bit

@bkatp I didn’t even see your post yesterday. I’m so glad your 3rd beta came back strong! I’m slightly envious of you all who are having u/s this week!!
@northbeach3 brave? Not sure!! Lol. But after the fact, I said WTH!! If 1 BD is gonna ruin this pregnancy then it wasn’t meant to be either. IF takes everything away from us. Even my mother was telling DH & I to not go anywhere other than work- she’s super superstitious due to our losses. We have plans for her birthday in Tahoe this weekend and I think she expected us to stay home!! Lol.
@Momifbysea I think each RE is different and depends if you’re having problems or not with the pregnancy. I believe my re would release me at 8 wks to an ob, if everything checks out.
I know it’s still early but have any of you thought if we get to graduate, will you follow up with your family doctor, midwife, Obgyn?
@mrsyng thank you, when I called to make appointment for Thursday they it is a different kind of ultrasound- and needs to be scheduled after 10. Not sure what the difference is . But yes I agree it feels less anxious when you are being monitored continuously.
I won’t get blood test results on same day but I’ll have beta 4 on Thursday.
when I graduate, they will transfer me to my regular ob gyn who referred me to this RE.
@bkatp 5w6d is very early for an ultrasound. That really, you will probably see a gestational sac and a yolk sac, but that's pretty much it. You might or might not see a fetal pole, you might or might not see a heartbeat. If you don't see anything other than the GS, it doesn't mean anything and your doctor will probably say to come back in a week or two.
Which is why I don't understand why doctors perform ultrasounds so early. It only stresses us out.
@bkatp lol. Thanks for clarifying, I was so shocked!! Lol. I didn’t like or didn’t feel the ob who referred me to my re was the right fit for me and I only met her once for the referral. So I’m in the process of finding a different ob and if it fails and an uneventful pregnancy, I will have my family doctor who is quite mellow provide ob care. But I’m also uncertain of that too.. decisions.. more than likely, I’ll at least try to find an obgyn first.
wow I thought you get transferred after you passed your 1st trimester, that's new information to me, thank you ladies! GL on your appt tomorrow @babyhopeful442 and @mrsyng i totally understand you, we sacrifice so much and it's such a long process! I also think that way on other areas like if it is meant to be that baby will come!
Re: RE “graduation” - my RE transfers after successful 9week scan. My OB doesn’t like to bring you in until right around 12 weeks. Maybe a little earlier if high risk.
@mrsyng well I hear you on not putting your life on hold. Despite the current fatigue, I’m feeling much more “with it” and feel like I’d be okay if I exercised or even had sex (but haven’t). I guess it’s my more laid back/chill approach/mentality this time. Like I said earlier, when I’m in “the zone” with work or life, I forget I’m PG. then a flash of fear runs through my mind and I keep trying to remind myself that it’s probably okay. I still have a whole two weeks before my next visit. Trying to keep my head down and focus on the distracting work. I’m also planning our Xmas vacation to the UK, so take that IF. You can’t stop me! (Shakes fist)
@mayflower513 well FX for your echo scan. I hope that everything is good for your LO. That said, I feel like I have so much to learn in terms of additional testing to expect in 2nd and 3rd trimesters. For now, I’m just focusing on getting to week 9 scan. I’ve been lurking on PAIF but am too superstitious to post yet without us confirmation. I’ll try to keep up with your results on 2nd Tri.
**TW: miscarriage mentioned - You guys, I just found a chart online that can help those of us in the long wait with some reassurance perhaps? It's a miscarriage chart or graph by day and I'm kind of a geek about these things but I like that we can enter our age, weight, and height so that the results are custom to us. Anyway, I liked looking ahead and seeing "okay, if I can make it one more week out, look how the risk lowers" and it gave me a little peace of mind I guess? Anyway, let me know what you think of it if you try it out, just takes a few seconds and no need to provide email or anything personal...https://datayze.com/miscarriage-chart.php **end TW**
Just got back from my ultrasound today. Saw a gestational sac and a yolk sac. Didn't see the fetal pole, but was told that was normal. I am 5 weeks and 3 days today, but baby measured 5 weeks and 5 days. I'm elated my next ultrasound will be in two weeks. This is going to feel like forever before i get to hear a heartbeat. then i graduate!

I’ll be going in for ultrasound on 5w 6d what should I expect?
How are you feeling?? I’ve been following you a bit
I won’t get blood test results on same day but I’ll have beta 4 on Thursday.
when I graduate, they will transfer me to my regular ob gyn who referred me to this RE.
Which is why I don't understand why doctors perform ultrasounds so early. It only stresses us out.
@more14 thank you. They said they are checking the positioning of implantation in this u/s. The one for heartbeat is scheduled for next week
@babyhopeful442 good luck with ur ultrasound tomorrow
